HT4623 request for replacement of my iPhone 5, dead on arrival

Hi!
I am looking some assistance on how to replace my iphone5. I just used it about 3 weeks and this iphone got a problem, will automatically off when using internet and offline games.  Am from Philippines hope any one could help and advise me.

  • Can I request for replacement parts abroad?

    My HP Pavilion dv6-3152ee hangs when used more than 15 minutes .Still under warranty so I brought it at the service center here in the Philippines. They have confirmed that the "thermal module" ( I think it's the fan and heatsink )  isnt working properly. I left the unit till they've found parts for replacement. It took more than a month in their office waiting for parts.
    Unfortunately, There was no available part here in the Philippines and my laptop was still unusable til now. They've suggested that I may send the unit to Saudi where it was bought so I pulled out my unit. My brother ( who bought my laptop there ) said that the unit was also imported to Saudi and there is a big chance that they also lack spare parts.
    My warranty is gonna expire this coming february so I must do something or else I may lost my customer service privilege.
    Where should I send my laptop? How can I make sure that the have a part for that? Is there any way that I can  request part for my laptop?

    Hi,
    They will work out the faulty parts for you. You can not tell them to replace this, replace that. In my case, he (not HP engineer) came to my house to work this out and ordered parts for him (not for me) and came few days later to fix the machine.

    my replacement ipod is stuttering and the battery is not retaining it's power
    my replacement ipod is still under the 90 day replacement ipod warranty but how do i put this down during the service order
    do i just put the date i recieved the ipod when it ask for the date of purchase or do i put down the original ipod's date of purchase?

    I would contact Apple and and fix the problem.
    Note that unless you purchased the optional AppleCare+ extended warranty a cracked screen is not covered by the warranty,
    even with AppleCare+ the exchange price is $29. Without it the exchange price depends upon the model and capacity of the iPod
    Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

  • I just now heard about the replacement program, and it won't let me finish with the request for replacement. what can I do?

    I have entered the product #, signed in, then checked my address info, after that, clicked continue. it said,
    we're sorry, the transaction cannot be completed at this time. Please try again later or contact us.
    contacting them seems to be even more difficult because it seems like its giving me the run around. my ipod was a gift. I have no idea when it was bought. i dont even remember if i registered it... what can I do. I am very frustrated with this because i have ran into this same window the last 3 days! do i just keep trying??

    I'm not exactly sure what the issue is.  Have you waited up to 24 hrs as suggested in the link I provided?
    If "Waiting for Activation" still appears after you perform these steps, turn FaceTime and iMessage off and on in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime. You may need to wait up to 24 hours to complete activation. Most attempts will take less than an hour, but some attempts may take up to 24 hours. If your issue isn't resolved after 24 hours, please contact Apple for assistance. If you've recently performed a remote wipe on your iPhone, wait 24 hours from the time you performed the remote wipe, and then turn iMessage off then back on.

  • Apple store offered me refurbished iPhone 4 for replacement, I declined...

    I went to a local Apple store yesterday to see if they have any option for my Death Grip iPhone 4.
    After short demonstration about loosing reception, he brought a shrink wrapped black boxed iPhone 4. I asked him if it's a refurbished unit and he said yes, he also mentioned it's a service unit they received from factory. Its serial number was starting with 850 (mine as well)
    I declined for exchange since I had a bad experience with 3G refurbished unit from Apple before (wireless dead after 4 months and battery was so bad)
    But I'm wondering if it's really a refurbished iPhone 4 since it's only been 3 days from official launch.
    Does Apple make extra new units for replacement service for newly launched products? If so, I'll go get it tomorrow.
    Any comments?

    That's weird they would have refurbished already, but yes they usually do warranty replacements with refurbished product.
    According to Apple:
    Apple Inc. (“Apple”) warrants this Apple-branded hardware product against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of retail purchase by the original end-user purchaser (“Warranty Period”).     You never logged into iTunes?
    Your AppleID & Password for iCloud&  iPhone should be the same AppleID &Password you used to log in here and post a message.

    I am a very new customer of yours, have bought a iPhone 5s on 25th Dec '13, but unfortunately someone stolen my phone in a MELA in my city. I immediately call my iphone but getting it switch off, as the thief had put the phone in switch off mode. I search it in iCloud with find my iphone apps but getting offline till date. I use pass code & finger print protection that's why probably it can't be use by the thief, but it can be sell as spare parts by opening up its parts . I had do all legal formalities & inform my carrier to lock my sim. Recently I again bought a new iPhone 4s 8GB from amazon.com & using it now.
    It is the time to welcoming new iphone probably iphone 6/iphone air in this fall. I have plan to buy it & a apple laptop but first iphone 6 followed by iwatch if you launch & than laptop.
    Now coming to the main point why I have written this mail let's explain it - I think you should put a switch off protection in this new device so that someone can't put the phone in switch off mode except the owner, at-least phone can be track till the battery last if someone stollen it. Because I know the problem & pain when someone lose a smart phone with all personal details. So please consider this in your new device as a new feature.

    As for your suggestion, as much as I can understand what you are requesting, if the device is turned off, it is off. There isn't anything Apple or your carrier can do about that. Having a device that is OFF continue to send a signal suggest all sorts of privacy and battery management issues.

    If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
    The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
    The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
    Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
    Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
    Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

    Since it is only the headset that is the problem and not the iPhone it would be better to just buy a new set and not let yourself be frustrated over it.  If you send anything to your sister before the one-year warranty is over, include the headset so she can exchange it at an Apple store.

  • HTTP_REFERER header is missing in request for .mp4 from Safari on ipad or iphone

    I just discovered that when I have a .mp4 file embedded in my webpage and I visit that page using Safari on the iPad, the request for the .mp4 is missing the referer header.  This is a problem for me because I use URL Rewriting in my web.config file on IIS and I redirect requests (in which the HTTP_REFERER does not begin with my own domain name) to a no hotlink image.  Safari on the iphone4 does the same thing when I visit this page--the HTTP_REFERER header in the request for the .mp4 is empty.  I've had to turn my hotlinking protection for MP4 files off on my site in order for ipad/iphone to display the video on my page.  If the hotlink protection (i.e., rewrite rule in my web.config) is turned on, the video does not display.
    It seems like this would be a common issue because hotlink protection is commonly implemented in this manner.
    Is there something I am issing?  Some special way of preventing hotlinking and yet letting the mp4 content through to idevices?

    I have the same issue with Safari, but with mp3 files not playing using a HTML5 player on my website. I have hotlink protection enabled and the audio plays on every other browser except Safari, so there's seems to be a problem playing any videos or mp3 files when hotlink protection is enabled.

    If you have a corporate Exchange account set up on the phone, the administrators can require encrypted backups. Try using your Exchange password.
