Iphone 5 ringer not working

I just updated to iOS 6.1 today evening and in a few hours the ringer stopped working.
I have tried all of below
1. Check mute button,
2. Soft reset
3. Hard reset.
Nothing works. Suddenly when a call comes it will ring once and stop.
No keyboards clicks, cant hear music either.
When i put the call on speaker mode it doesnt work either.
Please help...

I bought an iPhone 5 yesterday and had the same issue - ringer not working, no music through the speakers etc. I tried to back restore it but to no avail. I took it into a Mac shop and they were stumped too. I have iOS 6.1.3 on the phone.
A strange thing happened today. I use my phone as an alarm clock. I set it last night as I do normally (I had a 4S before) and this morning the alarm woke me up. I tried to play some music through the speakers and lo and behold it worked as did the ringer and other tones.
Not sure if this was pot luck or what but it maybe worth a try before chucking the phone out of the window!
I'd be interested to know if this works for anyone else.

Iphone 6 App Audio and Ringer not working...

I'm completely stumped.... for some odd reason the audio in my phone stopped working for the mentioned applications, also the keyboard makes no noise while texting. However, it works just fine in youtube, music, and netflix for example. The ringer music works in settings while selecting it, but not when someone calls. I've checked all the settings (volume and ringer in max), restarted the phone, and tried different game applications, and still nothing.... Please help! I don't wish to go to warranty unless I know for sure its a hardware defect.... and I can't afford to continue missing calls.... my service provider is Sprint and I have the most recent version of iOS 8 in case that helps.

PS. A little out of topic, but ever since I owned the phone since October Siri doesn't recognize music playing (What song is this?), she always says "No music is playing" no matter how hard I've tried.

IOS 8.1 comes out tomorrow if upgrading to that doesn't work you can try downgrading back to IOS 8.0

Spa112 Synchronized Ring not working

Does anyone have the feature 'Synchronized Ring' = Yes working?
(Voice, Regional, Ring and Call Waiting Tone Spec)
The idea is to have calls received on line one being picked up with phones on line 2. Line 2 is configured for a lower-cost voip provider while line 1 is configured for a voip provider that can serve incoming calls. I've got the different providers working properly, the last feature that is not working properly is this 'Synchronized Ring'. I would like to hide the more expensive line in a cupboard and have my wife use all lines on just one phone, the one connected to the cheaper outgoing line.
I've tested this feature in firmwares 1.3.2 (014) and 1.2.1 (004), but on both it failed to work.

If this is set to Yes, when the ATA is called, all lines ring at the
same time (similar to a regular PSTN line) After one line
answers, the others stop ringing. Default setting: no

HT4623 Email not working

I updated my phone yesterday with the new IS06.
Since then - I have been unable to get my sky e mails on my phone.
I have checked the settings but it still will not work.
Any ideas?

Try this:
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
See if you are able to connect now.

just assigned a new passcode to my ne ipad mini...logged off and now the passcode will not work so i can enter the ipad. what do i need to do to get into it?

HT4623 sound not working

Sound stopped working. Checked settings but not sure how to reset sound or troubleshoot. Any help is appreciated.

There are several different things that you can check, and those things are dependent on which sounds are not working.
1. If you have no sound at all, even in the Music App, try rebooting the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
2. If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

3. If you still have no sound at all ....try cleaning the dock connector opening of the iPad with a soft brush and just a little bit of rubbing alcohol.

HT4623 imessage not working

My imessage is not working since a week. Apple blames Telstra and Telstra blames Apple. either way , I am unable to be in contact with others. in some case it appears not delivered, in others it send as a text, I may recieve delayed messages of up to 24 hours. Not happy. Apple has not provided me with the next steps...just wait...until when???

ACTIVATING FACETIME AND IMESSAGES
Activating Facetime and Imessages on your phone requires the ability to send SMS messages and depending upon where you are that might be an international SMS. Check with your carrier to see if your plan supports sending of international SMS messages. If you are having trouble activating Facetime or Imessages turn them both off on your device and reset the device (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost)). Wait for the device to restart and wait a minute and turn Facetime and imessage back on and wait for activation. If that does not fix things read the following articles:

Before it goes 100% not functioning at the "power button", I have to hit it at the right-side of the button.
So now I'm unable to make use of the power button, how should claim from you, I believe it's still under warranty!

Try this:
Calibrate Home Button
1. Open a stock application like Calendar, Weather or Youtube
2. Hold down the power button until the "slide to power off" control appears
3. As soon as you see it, press the Home button and keep it pressed until the red slider disappears and the app is forced quit to the Home menu

HT4623 phones not working after ios6 install

ive tried to update my phone to ios6 and it all went through then my phone displayed plug into itunes done that and its not working it comes up on screen with apple logo and the bar at the bottom processes for 2 mins then turns off and back through the whole situation again.

Try putting your iPhone in restore mode. To do so you have to connect your iPhone to your mac via usb. Then press and hold the power and the home button at the same time. Now when the apple logo appears release only the power button, but keep on holding the home button until the iTunes logo with the usb cabel appears on your display.
iTunes should now recognize your iPhone in restore mode and you can safely restore your iPhone to factory settings.

IPhone 4s ringer not working

Before I start PLEASE don't jump in with all the "turn the mute button off" suggestions.
All settings are in the correct positions.
Yes I've reset and yes I've reset and restored/updated it through iTunes.
AT&T iPhone 4s will only vibrate when receiving a call. No ringtone.
When going through settings the test ringer works fine.
Please help!

Mine was doing the exact same thing when I got my phone and, for the life of me, I could not figure out why. It turns out that the toggle switch above the volumn buttons on the side was turned on (showing red). This put the phone on silent mode making the ringers not function. Flipped the switch and voila, the ringers began working. Hopefully, this will solve yours as well since it sounds like my story to a tee.

E71: Speaker/Ringer not working

Hi All,
The loudspeaker on my E71 suddenly stopped working one morning. The morning alarm was just a vibration without the sound. I tried restart, battery reset and factory reset. No luck. The key tones and hands free works though.
Thought of taking it to the NokiaCare, and somehow struck to me to gently blow air on the speakers. Suddenly it started working. But not consistently. comes on and off.
What could be the problem? Is it a bad speaker component?
