HT4623 Software Malfunction

I just downloaded the most recent software update.  After it was complete, my phone will not respond.  All I have is a blank blue screen.  Any suggestions?

Restore from Recovery Mode. Use a USB port on your computer, not a hub. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
This assumes your phone is not jailbroken. If it is you are out of luck.

Donna: Hi Gokul, thanks, can you help me with the issue i just described?
Gokul: I have received your query. Please allow me a moment to verify your account and to review the details of your request.
Gokul: I understand that you are unable to create greeting card of your wish measurement using Photoshop Elements 11.0, is that correct?
Donna: Unable to create a greeting card.... something is wrong with the software... updating didnt fix it.... tried upgrading to 11 but there is an error on your site.
Gokul: Thank you for elaborating the issue.
Gokul: I will be more than glad to check and help you with that
Gokul: May I know the serial number of the software?
Donna: I dont know, its a download... how do i check
Gokul: The serial number will be located in your email if you have downloaded the software or on the reverse side of the box if you have shipped the box to you and the serial number is a 24-digit long number.
Donna: Ill check but i dont know if i kept that email.... isnt available under my adobe ID?
Gokul: I do not see serial number registered under your e-mail address.
Donna: I found the order number...
Gokul: It is not valid order number.
Gokul: May I know from where did you purchase the product?
Donna: Adobe store Southeast Asia... can i send you a photo of the order confirmation?
Gokul: May I know the e-mail ID which you have used to purchase the product?
Donna: It doesnt say on the form but the only two i ever use are
Donna: It also says on it that Digital RIver, Internatinoal SARL is theauthorised reseller and merchant of the products and service offered within this store
Gokul: Sorry, you need to contact the reseller from where you have purchased the product to get the serial number.
Gokul: Please contact us back with the serial number of Photoshop Elements 11.0 to get better assist.
Donna: No, adobe owns this product and i need it to work. i am not going to search for some stupid distributor. please let me talk to a manager.
Donna: Im in asia, and i spend my money on original software rather than pirated versions and this is the service i get!!!
    Gokul: Do not worry.
Gokul: I retrieved the serial number from Digital river for you.
Donna: not for me .... for adobe
info: Your chat transcript will be sent to
Gokul: I see that the serial number is for Photoshop Elements 10.0 and Premiere Elements 10.0.
Gokul: May I know if you have Photoshop Elements 11.0 serial number?
Donna: thats what i said Elements 10
Donna: I dont have the serial numbers.... they were not on the form.
Donna: Maybe adobe either needs to take this up with their distributors or make sure that it can be found somewhere in the software itself
info: Your chat transcript will be sent to
Gokul: Donna, the chat support for "how to issue" is available only for current version product which is Photoshop Elements 11.0.
Donna: also would be good if i could send screen shots in the chat
Donna: that is adobes problem not mine. I paid for 10 before 11 came out... so, what do i just can the software and lose a couple of hundred dollars?
Donna: there is a malfunction here that is not user created.
Gokul: I'm sorry to inform you that it is an old product and this technical chat support handles issues for the current shipping version of the products.
Gokul: Chat support or Phone support is limited to the current shipping version.
Gokul: And your product does not fall under the chat support boundaries, so I request you to visit the forums for a solution.
Gokul: You can even contact the phone support and purchase contract to get support via phone.
Donna: sorry to say, but i think you just convinced me that i should just buy the pirated version

  • Random restarts, Software malfunction? Error message.

    Hi everyone!
I would like to ask for your help. My MacBook Pro started the have a malfunction about 1 month ago.
It has been randomly restarting by itself. As you can imagine this can be very annoying when you are working on your projects.... (saving every second)
So basically I brought my mbp to an apple store where they ran all the hardware tests. They said it was the Hard Drive so I bought a brand new hdd and replaced it by myself, reinstalled the system (mountain lion) without a problem. BUT A day after, when I fully copied al my documents from the hard drive I had before (wasn't damaged physically) the restarting started again.
I would highly appreciate if anyone could advise me what to do... since I changed the hard drive and apple said there are no hardware problems.
After all the restarts (there were a lot) I always got an error message which is the following:

Hi, thank you. I brought my computer to an apple store genius bar already and they said there is no hardware problem.
They said, they have no personnel to read the kernel panic... I'm in France.
Then you went to a store that does not seem to have qualified personnel.  This is the extract from the kernel panic report that clearly indicates the GPU issue:
Whether your HDD has a problem is a separate issue, but there is no indication here that there is a HDD problem.
    Ciao.

  • Hardware or software malfunction?

    Hi everyone.
within the space of a few days my iMac early 2008 started throwing the spinning pinwheel more and more until I couldn't even do anything after logging in. Finder would just hang at the slightest click.  I got into safe mode ok and disabled the startup items and things were normal for a few hours. Then the erradic behavior came back until it eventually got worse. Many hard shut downs and restarts later and even in safe mode the spinning pinwheel will come at the slightest mouse movement or click after booting. At this point I can start normally, log in, and load Finder. But after that everything hangs and this also in safe mode.
Basically I'm wondering if my OS got corrupt somehow or if my drive is malfunctioning. I'd bring it to my trusted  Mac repair place but they are on vacation until April 1st, so I have some time to troubleshoot it myself and I know a bit about Macs and OSX, as I come from the computer industry.
Here is what I have done so far
    1. ran standard and extendend hardware tests from install DVD.
the standard test passed and the extended test threw an error
    4HDD/11/40000000:SATA (0,0)
reserach on the interweb shows differnet reports which don't seem too alarming.
    2. ran disk utility a few times from the install disk.
first verify was fine. second verfiy threw an error at "checking catalog file"
incorrect block count for file 2014.03.24.asi (it should be 110 instead of 55)
then first aid failed > file system or repiar failed.
in spite of this I could run repair disk and this came back "repaired successfully."
    >> Here I began worrying and just wanted to secure my data. <<
    3. I tried to run time machine in safe mode and that worked for about 10 GB and then TM stalled
    4. i read that i could make a disk image of my main drive via disk utility as an alternative to time machine
i tried this, running DU from the install DVD, but got an "unable to create dmg input/oputput error". The internal HD is 320GB.
    5. I booted iMac in target disk mode and hooked it up to my Powerbook G4 (i knew this computer would come in handy one day!) and began transferring my most important files which i hadn't backed up.
the file transfers work best when the computer is cold and when the file size is small. If i try for example to copy anything over 10-20MB in size the transfer just trickles at 2MB every few minutes.  Smaller files or folders like email or pictures transfer fine for a about 30 minutes until the disk gets warm (i'm assuming this here!) and then things slow down dramatically.
I eject the target disk and wait for four hours or so, then when i boot it back up, transferring goes at normal speed. i have managed to back up most of my data this way the last two days.
    6. as a last measure I installed OS X 10.5.4 (what shipped with my iMac) on an external firewire drive
I thought i could use this method to check the problematic disk with a better third party tool, clone the internal HD, or simply just erase the HD and reinstall OS X. I haven't tried those things yet because I am still unsure the drive is failing. I mean it really feels like something is very wrong, but disk utility runs on the HD with no errors and the hadrware test comes back error free. I know not to trust these utilities 100% but i would expect them to recognize a failing HD. Or am I being naive? If the disk is indeed failing then zeroing the drive and reinstalling OS X makes no sense and I want to replace the HD asap.
I'm curious to hear what the experts have to say. Maybe I missed something in my troubleshooting. It's been many years since I last had any serious Mac trouble, so i'm a bit out of touch.
    best regards, Dan

You're having trouble transferring files over 20MB, seemingly even right after starting TDM. That doesn't sound like "long periods of time".
You couldn't access the drive usefully while booted from the DVD either.
