Is there a "New" button at the top right of the Playlists section of Music?
There is no Edit button to delete music, swipe sideways on the song to reveal the delete button. Tap and hold on the artwork in Artists and albums to reveal the (X) button to delete. Or connect the iPad back up to iTunes on the computer and check your sync settings for music to ensure you are syncing the right content.

Resolution

3. Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
1. Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
2. Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.

Can anyone help. I tried to update my iPhone 4 this morning and it just got half way through the update and froze. I managed to turn it off eventually, but now all it will do is show the apple sign fading in and out and is un usable. It's not even being recognised as plugged into the laptop!!!!!!!

I hate the mountain lion upgrade and have had more problems with it than good things!
Its reset a lot of things on my computer, one of them being that the menu bar at the top with the apple logo on the right etc pops in and out of view whereas I would like it to stay visible but admittedly I'm no computer genius but I can't find where to change this setting. Any help???
And mountain lion with safari blocks plug-ins so I installed google chrome which works fine so I can watch you tube, why can't I watch you tube with safari??? totally annoying!!!! I have the most up to date adobe flash player also but it always tells me its not up to date. No idea how to fix this but I hope apple fixes it soon. Really disappointed with the "upgrade"

VickyNo problem. Here is what I hope is a reasonable explanation.
You have iTunes on your PC and you can also use it on your PC. This could be regarded as the central store or central point for all your data/music etc.
You can then have stuff on your iPhone and your iPad and each could have different stuff on it depending on available capacity depending on what you need. You can either put stuff on them from iTunes or just download to them directly. If you put stuff on them from iTunes, then you obviously also have it on iTunes. If you download directly, a copy of what you downloaded directly, should also download into iTunes automatically. Again, iTunes is your central store.
iCloud allows you to back up each of your devices in the cloud (Apple's storage area), iPhone, iPad and iTunes, automatically, just in case you have a problem and need to recover something. For example, although my iPhone is backed up within iTunes on my computer, it is also backed up in iCloud. A couple of months ago, I had a problem on my iPhone and went into an Apple Store to talk to them about it. To my (unprepared) surprise, they replaced my iPhone and gave me a new one. Whilst sitting in the store (and being connected to their wifi), I could then restore all my iPhone stuff directly from iCloud. This is everything apart from some data like music which I would have to do from iTunes.
Finally, iCloud also allows you to automatically transfer things from one device to another such as photos (photostream), contacts, reminders etc. - in such a case you could think of it as a syncing system.
I hope that this all helps.
All in all, use iTunes on a PC, keep it up to date and backed up if you can.
(proviso - this is not an exhaustable list nor 100% accurate but it does give a good summary of how it all works) -
I have the Weather network app. I did a update on this app. then the app stop working. I removed and installed a couple times. I have just tried to update from apple Iphone link. going to settings / general/ software updates. there was no tab (software updates) I also rebooted the phone- holding sleep and home tell the apple logo apeared.

Can't open iTunes, says that iTunes library can not be read, because it was created by a newer version of iTunes, can anyone help?
You seem to have an old version of iTunes present on that computer and a newer version of iTunes on another using the same account. You should uninstall iTunes on that computer and reinstall it from Apple's website to insure you have that latest version of iTunes. If your Music is missing after the uninstall, you can proably find it somewhere in My Music (if you are using Windows) or Music (on Mac), and you can put it back in iTunes by clicking and dragging it into your library. You should now have no problem updating your iPhone. I should let you know it is not possible to update to iOS 4.2.1 anymore (unless you own an older device such as the iPhone 3G). You will be forced to update to the latest version of iOS, which right now is iOS 6.1.3 on the iPhone 4. Also, make a backup of your iPhone before updating just in case something happens. You can do this by doing a full iTunes sync if you can or by right clicking your iPhone's name on the sidebar (if you have the sidebar enabled) and clicking "back up". Wish you luck and no lags with iOS 6. Be sure to come back for more when iOS 7 becomes available.

Yes I had been connecting directly to the USB port.
Previously I had been using a cable that I recieved with a portable charging device. Today I have used the actual cable that I got when I bought the phone (as normally this lives in my car)
My computer now recognises my phone...Once I have transferred music I will try with the second cable to see if it is an issue with the cable, as could it be possible that the other cable would only be able to charge my phone?? -

Hello.... I had to turn my phone off last night... when I turned it on again it wouldn't make sounds unless I had the earbuds plugged in... I have read the other issues that people have had and then found that there was a new update to 6.1.4.... I can't download it from iTunes and when I try and find it on the Apple site and have my phone plugged in with the USB cable it won't show the newest update.... What is the way to correct this problem?? Thanks.
