HT4623 Unsyncing my iPhone

I've changed jobs and had an iPhone as a work's phone at my previous company. My previous employers are asking my to 'unsync' my old work iPhone so they can re-issue to someone else. How do I do this. Searching on search function has proved fruitless. Any assistance gratefully received

"unsync" isn't even a word.
Are you in posession of the phone or do they have it?  If they have it they would need your iCloud username and password so they can turn off activation lock.

How can I unsync my iphone 4s from my daughter's ipod touch?  I don't want her to have all my contacts and i don't want all her apps!

You would have to contact Orange and ask if they offer this service and if you qualify.

  • How do i unsync my iphone from itunes library and sync it to a different one without wiping my phone

I bought an iphone 5c and synced it to a windows 7 thinkpad laptop. I backed it up on this device and transferred music off there to my iphone. I recently had an acer aspire e15 laptop and downloaded itunes so i could now do everything i did on my old laptop on to this one, but it isn't letting me unless i sync my phone and wipe its memory. Although i can restore my phone it doesn't restore the music. So is there a way to unsync from one itunes library to another without wiping my data, or is there a way to transfer the music off my phone to my new itunes library so when i restore my phone its easy to restore the music i had on it previously.

The warning message provided is all iTunes content on your iPhone will be erased, not all settings and data. The same applies when selecting to transfer any photos from the new computer. If you had a computer backup for your old computer that included your iTunes library and all photos on your iPhone that were transferred from your computer that could be transferred to your new computer, this wouldn't be a problem.
iTunes includes an option to transfer all iTunes content on your iPhone that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes Store. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone. Or with your iPhone connected, right click on your iPhone under Devices in the iTunes source list and at the menu window that appears, select Transfer Purchases.
There are some 3rd party utilties that provide for transferring photos from an iPhone that were transferred to the iPhone from a computer, but the original resolution of these photos will be lost. When transferring photos from a computer, the photos are optimized for viewing on the iPhone. The same utilities provide for transferring music from an iPhone that was not purchased from the iTunes Store.
Contacts, settings, and photos/videos in the iPhone's Camera Roll are not affected by this.

  • How do I unsync my iphone 5c from a computer I no longer have access to?

Recently, I had to replace my laptop as the original (sony vaio, windows 7) I had finally bit the bullet and the hard drive died.  I was able to recover all my files on an external drive, but had to get a new laptop.  I'm now using an HP (windows 8) and I have an iphone 5c.  Since I can't really access the old iTunes I had on my last laptop, I don't know how to unsync my phone from it.  Does anyone know how I can do this?

  • How do I unsync my iPhone from my old computer and sync it to my new one?

I am unable to access my iPhone on my new computer without erasing and syncing all my data on my iPhone. I no longer have my old computer so unsyncing from that computer or transferring the data from it is out of the question. I have important settings, contacts, pictures, etc. that I don't want to lose from erasing my iPhone. However, I want to be able to actually put stuff on my phone. I attempted to backup my iPhone to my new computer and it worked. Yet, it seemed like it only backed up the apps on my iPhone. Is there a way to keep everything the way it is now on my iPhone (including app layout, settings, and such) and still sync to my new computer?

  • Is there a way to "unsync" your iPhone from one computer so you can sync it to a new one?

I had connected my iphone to a family member's computer simply to upgrade my software, and now I have a new macbook pro and it wants to delete all of my apps that are on my phone and replace them with what was on it at the time that I did the upgrade.  I would like to get the info off of my mother's computer and simply be able to use it on the new computer.  Any info would be appreciated.

You can copy the iTunes folder from one computer to the other, that will transfer all of your phone settings as well.

  • How can I unsync my iPhone from an iTunes account?

I just bought a new macbook pro and i have had a macbook air on my family's itunes account. i just created a new account on my new computer but it won't sync my phone because it is still synced to my family's account. how do i unsync it?

Not sure if there is a way to "un-sync" per-say... But you can factory reset your device, and then set it up with your new MB Air.
DOING A FACTORY RESET WILL WIPE ALL DATA ON YOUR PHONE!!! So make sure you have it backed up to your old computer first!
But before you do this, when you plug your Phone into your computer, I think iTunes should give you a choice to sync with your new computer. If this "dialog box" or "choice" doesn't pop up when you plug your Phone in, THEN do the factory reset.

  • My music won't unsync from iPhone

I've tried to delete a lot of music from my iPhone (because my storage was running out). I can't seem to remove all my Music from my iPhone. When I go to Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage, every time I click on "Music" it crashes out of the Settings and returns to the home page.

Have you tried closing the Settings app via the phone's multitasking bar and seeing if you can delete your music when you re-open the app ? Double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the Settings app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset (i.e. a reboot) : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear.

  • HT4623 Updated my iPhone 3gs yesterday (1st time ever).  Backing up content to icloud but would not quit.  Screen would not disappear.  Finally disconnected phone from computer and lost EVERYTHING.  Can I get it back?

Updated my iPhone 3gs yesterday to ios 6 (first time ever).  Backed up my content to icloud, but it wouldn't quit.  Remained on that screen for HOURS.  Finally disconnected phone from computer.  Still would not go away--just the "circle of death."  Restarted phone and lost EVERYTHING (pics, contacts and apps).  Can I get them back?  Are they somewhere out in cyberspace or lost for good?

You're not alone. I am having similar problems with my Ipod 5th gen 30gb.
When I connect it to my laptop (Vista - basic) it is not recognised by itunes. Itunes simply locks up.
So far I have tried the following to no avail:
Checked my pc's device manager - it recognises the device and says it is functioning properly.
Checked the drivers to make sure they are upt to date.
Uninstalled & reinstalled a previous version of itunes (as it worked fine before the latest release).
    Reinstalled the latest itunes.
    Reset the ipod.
Put the ipod into disk mode and reconnected to itunes.
Have tried to use the windows tool to scan and fix any bad sectors but it fails to complete a scan without locking that up as well.
Placed into disk mode when fully charged and then allowed the battery to drain completely. Then reconnected ipod (in disk mode)and it still is not recognised and locks up itunes.
At this point I dont really want to part with another $300 odd dollars for a new one.

  • HT4623 After upgrade iPhone has disabled.  How do I enable it?

After updated to iOS 7 the iPhone 5 asks for a four digit pass code which we entered during set up but the phone will not accept pass code and is disabled. How do we rectify this ??

    Hello Grahammolineux,
I recommend the following article if you are not able to gain access to the iPhone because of a forgotten passcode:

why my iphone are not responding after i update the latest ios? and the screen displaying itunes icon

You are in Recovery Mode. Follow the instructions below to recover your iPad.
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
    3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
    5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost.
