HT4623 What is a pairing record ?

I am unable to download apps or music to my i-phone as the pc tells me that there is no pairing record. I have changed my pc since last downloading or syncing but I did transfer all the data from my old pc to my new one. I have tried all the possibilities in the apple support site but am getting nowhere ! Any help appreciated.
Regards,
Gagismor.

Hi michaelig,
A pairing record is a connection that has been established with a bluetooth device.
The article below may be able to help you with this issue.
Click on the link below to see more details and screenshots.
I've quoted some helpful highlights for you:
iOS: Third-party Bluetooth headsets, headphones, and keyboards
Remove pairing records
When troubleshooting an issue with a previously paired accessory, first remove the pairing record from the iOS device.
Access the Bluetooth settings screen: Settings > Bluetooth.
Tap the arrow next to the accessory on the Bluetooth Settings screen.
Tap "Forget this Device" to delete the pairing record.
I hope this information helps ....
Have a great day!
- Judy

  • ITune's is telling the pairing record is missing and it can't connect to my ipod, what should I do?

I've got an ipod touch.. and i just bought a bunch of new songs and my ipod prompted me to set up my ipod so that it would automatically sync the new songs through wifi. I hadn't a clue what it was talking about so I hooked it up to my computer to sync it and itunes came up with an error saying that it was unable to connect to my ipod due to the fact that it couldn't find it's pairing record. Any idea's as to what I should do?
    Ps. It's for windows 7.

You need to buy and install a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, and then run the 10.6.8 combo updater.

Are you running a recent version of Outlook Web App (i.e., Exchange 2010)?
When you save files using IE, what format are they in (e.g., EML, RTF, HTML)?

  • HT5262 What does it mean when 'pairing record' is missing?

I am trying to update my phone but need to back up my information before I lose all my contacts and stuff. But when I plug my phone into computer it says "pairing record" missing? I need major help here.

It can mean a number of things.
Open AirPort Utility, the application that you used to originally configure the AirPort Express.
    Click on Manual Setup
Click directly on the word Status (2nd line on the summary page) and a window will open to explain why the amber light is flashing, along with suggested remedies.
If everythng seems to be working OK, the message might simply be a notification that an update is available for the AirPort Express.

  • ITunes cannot connect to iPhone because pairing record missing

I was able to connect my iPhone to iTunes once and was able to sync. Now i recieve a message saying: iTunes cannot connect to my iPhone because the pairing record is missing. What do I do?

    BPH108,
I had the same exact issue. What solved this for me was to unplug my phone, shut down ITunes, shutdown my phone (Not just shut down but hold the home and lock button until it shuts off), start my phone back up and start ITunes back up. Then when I plugged my phone back in it worked like a charm!
    Hope this helps!

  • Why am I getting error msg: Pairing Record is Missing?

I have been syncing my iPhone with my Win7 PC for several weeks now, but I am suddenly getting the error message: "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because the pairing record is missing".  What does this mean, and why has it occurred?  I've rebooted both my PC and the iPhone several times, with no luck.  Just a few hours ago I successfully synced, and nothing's been changed on either device, but now I cannot sync.  Thank you.

    Do this:
Unplug your iPhone from your computer
    Tap on the iTunes app
    Scroll down to the bottom
    Tap on your AppleID
    Sign out
    Sign back in
Plug your iPhone back into your computer
Your iPhone should now be recognized by iTunes.

  • IPod won't connect to iTunes - pairing record is missing...

I get this iTunes message when connecting my first iPod, a brand new iPod touch to my mac:
"iTunes could not connect to iPod "iPod" because the pairing record is missing."
What does that mean? (Can this have something to do with other iPods that have been connected to my iTunes earlier?)
I followed the instructions Apple had to offer and reset the iPod etc.
    <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60950>
I reinstalled iTunes 7.6 from my admin user. Then the iPod was recognized on this account with empty iTunes. Registered the iPod und updated software to 1.1.3. Restarted back into my regular user. Still same message, except now iPod "ihPod"... Now, where is that pairing record?

Yes, I restarted the machine after reinstalling iTunes 7.6, but that did not help.
Today I reinstalled again, this time from my users acount and that did the trick. I still don't know what or where the pairing record is. But installing iTunes on the spesific users account fixes it, it seems.

  • ITunes could not connect to the iPhone "iPhone" because the pairing record

I just bought an iPod, and at home it fails to work and sync up on my Mac G5, OS X 10.4.11
I get the red stop sign with an exclamation point come up with this statement of error:
"iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "iPhone" because the pairing record is missing."
I had that error a number of times, rebooted the iPhone, then now I consistently get this error:
iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "iPhone" because an unknown error occurred (0xE80000001)."
Does anybody have any clue what I might do? And yes, it is iTunes 8 that I have running.

Try disconnecting your phone from your computer, quit iTunes, connect you phone to your computer again, the re-launch iTunes.
