getting frustrated thought it would be out on 18/09/13

Millions of people are wondering the same thing, but it is still September 18th in Cupertino, CA where Apple is based. The update WILL be released today. Have some patience.

    Supposedly tomorrow.  But your 'screen shuddering', unless you mean the apps are 'shaking' sounds more like a hardware display issue, not a software issue.  Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

    SIx months ago, when this thread was last active, 5.1 had not yet been released. Pvonk was correct at the time of writing. We still do not know when the next update will be released. The Terms of Use of this forum prohibit us from speculating about things that Apple has not yet announced.

    Since iOS 7 is due to be released in the fall I would say you would see a new iPhone at the same time.

    Apple doesn't release this information in advance and the forum TOU restrict discussion of speculation. Historically, new FCP/FCS releases have been close to the NAB show in April ... but not always.

    ALL Verizon units are shipping unlocked and will work on a GSM network, except LTE will not work on them in the US only.
    If you buy an AT&T unit for full price with no contract, AT&T WILL factory unlock it (via iTunes) for you. I called Apple and they are not going to sell factory unlocked units online for the foreseeable future. My guess is next year when demand settles down.

    I heard that it is this Friday (21.5 ")  But who knows for sure.  I am really dying to see it and see if it is truly 75% less reflective.  The only reason I don't have a mac is because of the reflective/mirror screens. I just cannot work on them. I am praying that the claim of 75% reflective is very obvious.
