When I try to sync my podcasts to my iphone 5 I keep getting a message that I do not have enough room. How do I create more room by deleting old podcasts?
i used to get that problem with my old iphone!
you just need either to delete apps, videos, and also podcasts until it alows you to sync.

I always do my Rentals with the itunes program on the computer.
Make rental from itunes store. It will show in movies under library, DO NOT click to play it. Plug in the device to the computer. Click the name of the device on left. Click on movies. There is an option to copy to the device. Sync. obviously you still need space on ipad to put rental but you can have it take computers hard drive space until you need it. -

The document I can't get to is the spreadsheet of my passwords. Go figure. When I check the storage under "about this Mac" it says I have 150 GB of 249 GB. I have a MacBook Air. Help please. I am trying to sync my ipod shuffle 4th generation, but this time around I keep getting a message saying that there is not enough free space to sync my itunes library. Frustratingly I am trying to sync a new playlist which is smaller in size than the one currently on the ipod!! I have tried everthing I can think of but to no avail, please help!!

The new update for my computer is ready to be installed. When I try and install it, I get a message that my start up disc is full and does not have enough room. I have tried every avenue I can think with no resolve, of course, I am not a computer genious. Can anyone at all help? Thank you so much.
You need to discard or save to an external disk and then discard some of the stuff we all tend to keep forever (movies, music, pictures, docs, apps no longer used, etc.). A clogged up disk also does not function ideally either.

If you are trying to do a wifi update, make sure you have a good signal, plug in to make sure you have adequate power. Try updating through iTunes on your computer.

You keep tempting me with updates. I run 4.0b8. When I try to put it in my application folder, I get the message that I do not have certain privileges.
If you get an error message that you do not have sufficient permissions to update then easiest is to trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

When streaming movies from itunes, I get an error that there is not enough storage
I stream a movie for my kids and the ipad says that there is not enough storage available. I can stream from Vudu and Netflix with no issues. When I started streaming from itunes, I cannot due to this error.
Still learning iOS, any help would be greatly appreciated!

How the heck do I get my music back onto my windows 8 computer from my Ipad or Iphone. All of a sudden all my music (except for purchased songs from Apple) disappeared. When I try to sync I get a message that if I continue all the other songs (~1250) will be removed from my devices and I will be left with the ~50 purchased songs. There is no information on the help list on how to re-create the library using Windows 8.

I assume you have tried everything here?
iPod: Cannot restore or update in iTunes with error 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430, 1436, or 1439
It doesn't mention 1442, but the same troubleshooting applies.
It wouldn't hurt to also try another available USB port on your machine and another sync cable if possible.
Lastly, try restoring the iPod on another PC or Mac running iTunes.
If you know of somebody with a PC running Windows XP still, ask them if you can download the reset utility and use it to reset the Shuffle.
