I'm trying to figure out why I can't connect to my iTunes and its not letting me buy minutes on pinger.

I'm no expert.
I've observed that the "Put Back" feature isn't universal, especially relating to iTunes. For example, when updating an application, and the older version is moved to the Trash automatically by Finder, the Put Back feature is absent for that file. Put Back seems to be only available when the the user manually moves the file in question to Trash manually from within Finder, and not when it is moved by Finder, or in your case, by iTunes.
Sorry I can't think of a solution, it would be nice to have the Put Back feature work with iTunes, instead of re-importing whatever media was deleted.

After downloading via iTunes, I move MP3 files from the default iTunes podcast folder to another folder (on an a external disk), I also change the name of the file and I change some MP3-tags.
You download from the iTunes store, delete the podcast, mess with it, move it around, rename it, change the tags then try to add it back to iTunes?

After you restored it to factory settings, did you restore as new or from a backup? If it was from a backup, I'd try restoring as new to see if, without any of your previous data, the issue persists:

It won't let me buy stuff it says "we could not complete your itunes store purchase, an unknown error has occurred (-45054) there was an error in the itunes store. Please try again later." This has going on for the past week or so.

Hi, I have the same problem.
I already tried all the suggestions in the troubleshooting issues on mac and the situation persisted
In my case, I can connect to the Itunes Store and navigate it but cannot completed the purchase.
Even I already tried with a second apple ID with exactly the same response.
Did you find any solution?

When I try to buy a tv episode on apple tv, it gives me a message of "problems connecting with store, try again later". I hit ok, and then another message comes up to go online and verify payment information. I have done that, all info is correct. Why won't it let me purchase? This has been going on for days.

I figured it out!
I read a solution for something that sounded similar.
Anyone in similar position:
Open iTunes app on iPhone, and pick an option from bottom, such as music. Then scroll down to bottom of page and where your iTunes ID is, press on it, and pick sign out.
Then return to home screen, and double press home button and press and hold on first icon showing, until a minus symbol appears in the top left of icons present. Press on each minus symbol on each app in turn, until all app icons have disappeared. Then Restart the phone by pressing and hold the home button and the on/off/standby button at top of phone, until the apple symbol appears in centre of blank screen.
Swipe to turn phone fully on and open settings and scroll down to iTunes and apps option and tap that. Pick sign in and put in your apple ID, it will accept it and then return to home screen and open iTunes a you'll find it works fine
Simple really, but some like me won't think f this themselves!

I want to gift a couple songs to my boyfriend, but when i try to gift the songs it asks for my credit card information. i have over $100 in itunes store credit from gift cards. i want to use that money to purchase the songs i will be gifting. why won't itunes allow that? i looked up tutorials and gifting should be easy and all you submit is the other person's email but thats not happening for me.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

Okay, last night I was buying songs and apps. I bought $38.0o total of songs and apps, now I can't buy anything because iTunes says that I owe $38.00! How could it let me buy that stuff with no credit card info? Please help!

From my own experience, some time ago I had created an iTunes account with no intention of purchasing anything from the iTunes store, and so did not register a payment method with Apple. Fast forward a few months, and I wanted to try it out and rent a movie after browsing through the store. iTunes prompted me to add a payment method, and so I did and lived happily ever after.
A little while ago, I wanted to purchase something else, and having been months since my last purchase, I was not sure what card I had on file. I assumed that iTunes would pre-authorize the purchase against my card and so I downloaded away. A day or so after that, I received an e-mail invoice that indicated a negative balance. Sure enough, I had not updated my card information and iTunes was trying to bill a card that had expired.
So, in short, it does not appear that iTunes Store verifies funds in the account prior to authorizing the account to purchase whatever item. If the payment method is declined, it appears that there is a block placed on the account until the outstanding balance is restored to zero. I do not believe that you are allowed to initiate a purchase without some kind of payment method registered with iTunes Store.
In conclusion, I'm wondering why you were purchasing so many music items and apps when you knew that you did not have the money to pay for it? I would recommend you re-register a valid credit/debit card and pay your balance.

It will not get any further iOS updates beyond 5.1.1

I basically have NO MORE space in my phone since I only have 8GB. I deleted most of my apps from 18 to 6 apps, I went from 800 pictures to 174, and lastly I deleted many songs from 500 to 333 songs. BUT my "Other" space is 2.2 GB! It may not seem a lot but i only have 0.13 GB left. I am tired of deleting and deleting so many stuff on my phone. Is there any way I can minimize the space in "other" ?
I heard of backing up and restoring it and I did that as well! But, everytime i try to restore it, itunes always replies "Sorry we cannot restore because either itunes servers are not available or working" something like that lol. Is there any way i can restore it without having to deal with all these problems? I just want more space on my phone instead of deleting all of my apps and music! HELP

Try to disable the camera notification, shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1501 , to keep iphoto from starting up.
Then check if the autostart option is selected in the Summary pane in iTunes, with your phone connected.
