Same thing happened with my iPhone 4S - no one is any help. Thanks Apple for such a crappy update! I've called Apple, they say the SIM card needs replacing, I go to my service provider they tell me nothing wrong with the SIM card - provider tells me I now need a new phone. Sheesh! If someone has a solution to this it would be greatly appreciated.

Why am I receiving an "unknown error message" when I attempt to upgrade my X OS from 10.8 to Yosemite? It says "There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later (4)." This happens only when I check for updates/upgrades for my software and then try to upgrade Yosemite in the App Store. Thanks for any help!

I was updating my iPhone 3GS, left it overnight and woke up to find that there was an error and my IPhone could not be restored. What can I do to make my phone work again? Have I lost all the data?
If your phone is in recovery mode, all data are gone. Connect the phone to iTunes on your computer and restore.

It just says that there was an error encoding over and over again. It is version 4.2.2 It said the software required a dvd- which i used... I've tried just backing up the video to a disc not using studio pro but my computer won't do it? Any suggestions?
David's right. Do the encode in compressor and bring the resulting m2v (video) and ac3 (audio) into dvdsp. Then do an advanced burn: build in dvdsp and test the build using the mac dvdplayer to play the video_ts folder you've created. Just go to file: Open DVD Media and point to the build folder or the video_ts folder within it. If this works, your dvd burner is probably the problem. You can buy an external burner for not a lot of money. Apple sells one, and you can even get cheaper ones than that.

My hard drive burned up and had to be replaced. When I tried to sync my IPhone after my computer repair, the phone says it's syncing and the icons spin, but nothing happens. In a few seconds a message appears saying it will sync the next time my computer is available. I have gone through the instructions and procedures for syncing four times and can not get the thing to sync. Apparently the phone hasn't synced in a long time. What do I do to sync my phone again?

iOS runs on iPads and iPhones; OS X runs on Macs.
Given your situation, I’d highly recommended that you purchase a SATA-to-USB adapter, so that you can test both your old disk and your new disk externally, since it might be that the problem is due to a faulty internal SATA cable rather than due to faulty disks. -

how can I upgrade without losing all contents?
The first thing you need to do is (in the left side of iTunes, under devices) right click on your phone, and do a manual back up. As long as that works, this should work for you. After you back it up, go to your phone in iTunes, and do a "Restore". Click the option to restore and update. When it is done with the update, it will ask you if you want to set your phone up as a new phone, or restore from the last back up. Restore it, and after another restart, and a sync, you will have your updated phone without loosing your information.

I am trying to back up my iPad 2 on my PC in iTunes , so that I can transfer all data to my new iPad air. I have to use iTunes , as my internet connection is too slow for iCloud. There is no device tab to select. Where do I find this?

Turn off imessage in settings/messages
Turn off Facetime in settings/Facetime
Delete icloud account in settings/icloud
Erase all data and settings in settings/general/reset
Delete the phone from your profile in https://supportprofile.apple.com if you registered your phone there
