HT4623 Will I be able to sync my new ipad air if I have OSX 6.8.5?
I am about to update my old Macbook Pro to OSX 6.8.5 so that I can upload from my itunes on to my new ipad air. Will it work? Or do I need OSX 7 which I can't do with my old Mac Book Pro?

Hi there - do you know if I will be able to sync a new ipad with ios5 (or even an ipad 3 if it ever gets released !) with a backup from my now defunct ipad2 ios 4.3.3 ?
ThanksYou will be able to restore from the backup of the old iPad and then sync all of the other content but you may need to update a bunch of apps in order for them to work with iOS 5 - but yes - you can use that backup.

HT5661 will I be able to restore a new iPad with a BackUp from a old one?
I have an iPad Model MD371LL/A that i'm selling. I will buy a new one as sonn it releases the new model.
Will I be able to restore a new iPad with a BackUp from a old one?Yes.
The only 'catch' you may encounter. Let's say your old one is running iOS 7.1.1, and your new one is running iOS 7.0.6, you will first need to update your new one to be running 7.1.1, then y ou can restore it from the backup of your old one and make it a near clone of the old one.
Chances are you won't encounter this, but there have been instances where folks get a broken ipad replaced and try to restore the new one from the backup of the old one and since the replacement is running an older iOS than the replaced one it doesn't work. In that case you set up the replacement long enough to update the iOS then restore it.
But, likely what will happen for you is what happened for me when I bought a new iPod Touch. I did a full backup of my old one then wiped it. Brought the new one home and during hte set up process I had a choice 'set up as new or restore from the backup of the old one'. I chose restore and my new one was a near clone of the old one. I still needed to set up wifi and enter a few passwords to websites, but the data and contents crossed over.
If you are selling your old one you may want to read this about wiping your device to make it usable by the buyer. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5661 -
I synced my new ipad air with my pc and now my ipad wont turn on what can i do?
I synced my new ipad air with iTunes on my pc to set up and now my ipad will not turn on what should I do?
Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore.
Try all of these. -
I have a new Ipad air. I have synced it to my PC before. This time I get an error message saying iTunes could not connect to the iPad because the device time out - what do I do?
Quit iTunes, restart your computer, reset the iPad and try again.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
Can't sync my new ipad Air to my Leopard iMac
I just bought a new iPad Air and discovered that I can't sync to my iMac (Leopard).
I was going to upgrade to Snow Leopard but could not as I don't have enough space (2 GB).
Don't know what to do as I would like to transfer most info from my current iPad 2 to iPad Air.I was told that if I sync my current iPad 2 to another computer,it will wipe out all my data. Is this true?
That is true. There are, however, ways to transfer sync to another computer without losing your data. Check out this user tip from TuringTest:

I cannot complete a sync with my ipad air to my laptop. I've tried updating itunes on both but same problem of 'waiting for changes to be applied' message coming up. My iPhone with the same software connects and syncs ok. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Are you running the latest iTunes (11.0.3)?
If so, check this troubleshooter:

Do I still need to sync a new iPad Air to a computer
I am buying a new iPad Air and would like to know if I need to sync it to a computer or laptop for start up as I did with ipad 2
No. You can activate it directly. If you have music on the Pc you wish to transfer then you would want to sync. But you don't need to.

I purchased a movie on my brand new iPad air 64g. I'm connected to a strong wi-fi but still I get that error can't download over cellular. I have plenty of space. What is wrong? So frustrated.
IIRC, you can only download a maximum file size of 100MB with cellular.

I share an iTunes account with my sister, though on two seperare computors. I want to create my own account. Will I be able to sync my iPod with my newly created account without losing anything?
as long as you make sure your iTunes is authorized for both Apple ID's, yes.

Forgive such a basic question, it's easier than looking it up. I have my iTunes music on macbook pro and have only synced it to one iPod. I want to buy a new iPod and want to know will I be able to sync my music from computer to new iPod at no charge?

Yes, you will. -
If I copy the Itunes folder from my old pc onto my new one in the music folder will I be able to sync just as if it were the old one? This is from a Widows Vista machine to Windows 7.
I suspect design rather than a bug, it's too useful. The behaviour seems to have been consistent for quite a long time on both Windows and Mac machines...
Here are the typical layouts for the iTunes folders:
In the layout above right, with the media folder (everything in the red box) inside the library folder, the library will be portable. A portable library can be moved from one path to another, or even between Windows & Mac computers, without breaking the links between the library and the media, and being self-contained is much easier to backup (You do backup, don't you?). Anything that isn't stored inside the media folder must stay put or be restored to precisely the same path on a new machine or iTunes won't know where to find it. Within the media folder the relative paths from the library to the media remain unchanged and iTunes can cope even when the absolute paths are updated.
Should your library not be in the usual layout I've written some general posts on how to make a split library portable or I can give specific instructions on request.

Iv just bought Ipad 2 for back home in UK in usa. I'm trying to set it up for the plane ride home on my sisters pc which already has itunes installed. Will I be able to sync it with my own PC back home.
Yes, but all the data from your sisters PC will be erased and replaced with yours, which is probably what you want anyhow.

Can't see how to access my iTunes wish list on my iPhone?
Hi, Is there any way to access my iTunes wish list on my iPhone? The advice I've found so far is to look for a 'quick link' which is accessible from a home icon but I can't see any home icon in iTunes on my iPhone?
