  • HT4623 i cant get into my phone to update it just keeps telling me to plug into itunes and as soon as i take it off charge to plug it into itunes the phone switches off do you know how to get around this?

i cant get into my iphone to update it when on charge it tells me to plug in to itunes and when i take it off the charge to plug it into itunes the screen goes blank and when i plug it into the pc the apple symbol will come up for a few seconds then the screen goes blank and it keeps doing that anyone know what the problem is??

Try placing the device in DFU mode (google it).
If it will not enter DFU mode, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

  • My phone keeps telling me to plug into itunes

so i plug it into itunes and it recognizes an iphone is plugged but it just says "iPhone" and my only option is to eject it. ive turned off the phone and held the home button then plugged it in so that it would restore. it restores but then a message pops up saying the phone is going to restart and to leave it plugged in. i leave it plugged in but then it just says to connect to itunes again! and its already connected ! i have no idea what to do and ive looked everywhere on the internet for answer. the problem started a few days ago when my screen wasnt working so i tried to restore it via itunes then this whole problem with it wanting me to plug it into itunes occured. also it is the first generation iphone, do you think its just time for a new phone?

It sounds like it's having trouble loading the software onto the iPhone and getting corrupted in the process.  If it's a first gen iPhone it definitely is time for a new one.
You could try your luck by bringing it into an Apple Store and seeing if they have any luck restoring it, however you've done lots of troubleshooting already so it's likely they won't have much better luck.

  • HT201263 My iPod is stuck on the "Plug into iTunes" screen. What do I do???

So, my computer is telling me that I need to type in my password into my iPod to unlock it, but my iPod is telling me to "Plug into Tunes". I can't unlock it on my iPod and I've already tried putting it into recovery mode (or whatever you call it) multiple times doing it differently each time, but it's still not working. It was previously jailbroken (if that makes a difference), but I just want to restore it now so I can get it to work. Someone with answers, pleeeeeeeease help me!!!

... It was previously jailbroken (if that makes a difference),
It makes a difference. A jailbroken iPod Touch cannot be fixed.
    Buy a new one.

  • I'm trying to start the Ipod for the 1st time, it keeps telling me to plug into i tunes, not sure what the problem is, I'm trying to start the Ipod for the 1st time, it keeps telling me to plug into i tunes, not sure what the problem is

I just purchased an additional ipod.  When I turn it on it tells me I have to plug into i tunes.  I can't get any other screen to display on the device.  I have plugged it into my computer and tried to sync but the sync button is not highlighted as a selection.  I can't figure out what to do.

It's telling you to plug into a computer loaded with iTunes!  You must highlight the iPod on the left side to make the Sync button available.  This is because multiple devices can be simultaneously synced (wirelessly) from the same iTunes and you must decide which device you're syncing.

It will say restoring apple tv but the progress bar will not move at all. I have left it running for six hours with no change. I get a 1602 error device not found after I unplug it to start over. My iTunes recognizes the device and tries to update it, but the same thing happens again.

What do I do when the iPod touch asks to be plugged into it ouch and nothing happens. The PC asks to use password on iPod touch and it can't be done.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • Why does my iPod keeps saying "Trust Computer?" and iTunes doesn't recognize my iPod?

I connect my iPod to my laptop, and everytime my iPod keeps showing up this "Trust This Computer?" I always answer "Trust" , but when I connect again it asks the same question. Also when my iPod is connected it doesn't show up in iTunes. It shows up in my laptop in "Devices and Drives" as 'Apple iPod'. It doesn't even show up as the name I gaved it. Please help, I want to add music to my iPod but I can't because of this problem.

  • Ipod constantly resetting itself when plugged into Itunes.

My new 5G 80gig Ipod constantly resets itself when I plug it into Itunes. Any ideas? The Ipod is new...

Here's what I've done so far unsuccessfully:
Placed it into disk mode, but it does the same thing. Once plugged into the computer the ipod is recognized by both windows and Itunes but it resets itself within 30 seconds. It constantly keeps resetting itself.
Also, since it keeps resetting itself, and therefore disappears form itunes, I cannot reformat/hardreset it via Itunes....

I checked for anything either bent or broken, and as far as I know everything looks fine, though I could probably clean out the dust and dirt collected in there after a year. I could take a picture if that would help. Would being dirty inside there cause this to happen? It's one thing I guess I never thought of and probably should do.
