For the record, this is a user-to-user support forum. You aren't actually addressing Apple.
I'm not clear what you are trying to do, but Numbers will open a CVS file adn will export to CVS (as well as Page, Numbers, and PDF) using the document function (looks like a box with an arrow; upper left). If this isn't what you are looking for, perhaps you could provide a bit more detail.

Is there any way to open new browser window without using image maps? My code works fine in Firefox, but not in IE. There are 2 problems in IE: 1st is that the thumbnail images move up within their own borders & 2nd that when you click on an image it does open up a new browser window, but also redirects to the index page (in this case it's just a placeholder index page - the new one I've called index_new.html for the time being).

Your missing a value on the HREF. In your code you have this:

and it should be this:

If you fix the code on all your beads, it should work.

Is there any way to open Internet Explorer?

I wonder if there's any way of opening Internet Explorer up, together with the specified URL without the user clicking on the IE icon using Java??

IE (Internet Explorer) is fused into Windows and so Windows will always be able to access it, thats right, you can NEVER really get rid of it. That's because Microsoft decided for you that YOU want their browser and no body elses. Either Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, or HotJava will be installed on a Windows-based system so do this to get IE running.

I believe you are missing the point. The OP has already restored from back up, but failed to include a specific app in the back up and is trying to recover data for it, which in this case is not possible.

There is no way to lock the built-in email app. You can remove the password from the Mail, Calendars, Contacts settings, but you'd have to readd and remove that every time, probably not very practical. There are third-party apps that have a login feature within the app, so one of those might work for you. Or you can just use a web interface to your email, if your provider offers that, though many web interfaces don't work very well with mobile web browsers.
Alternatively, if your students just use a single app at any given time, you can lock the iPad to that app via Guided Access:

It sounds like Target Display Mode may be what you are looking for:
Target Display Mode lets you use a Mac as the external display for another “primary” Mac. In some cases, you can also play the sound from your primary Mac on the speakers of the external Mac. For example, a MacBook Pro could use a 27-inch iMac as the display and play its audio on the iMac as well.

Use an iMac with Thunderbolt as a display
If you have an iMac with Thunderbolt, any other Mac with Thunderbolt can use it as a display. The iMac will play both the video and audio from the other Mac.

2. Make sure both Mac computers are turned on and awake.
3. Press Command (⌘)-F2 on the keyboard of the external display Mac.
4. If you want the external display Mac to play audio as well as video from the primary Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Sound, and then click Output. Select the external display Mac from the list of devices.

If the old ID ("email address") is your ID, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

My I-phone 4 froze when I was trying to sync some music to it tonight from i-tunes. I lost all my contact info, apps and most importantly photos. Yes, you can print the response in a PDF by following the steps suggested below.
1) Go to the response file
2) Select the response you want to print
3) Click on Save as PDF button and it would save the selected response in PDF format.

HT2506 I use Preview to edit photos, and would like to know if there are any Preview updates in the works. I find there is a problem with Preview crashing, or taking a very long time to "catch up" (spinning beachball of death) while I'm editing.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

That's a Microsoft program which requires Windows. You could run on your Mac if you install Windows on it.
Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
Install the Apple Boot Camp software. Purchase Windows 7 or Windows 8. Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows. Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7. Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
VM Fusion and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7. VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows. The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris. It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. That's a broad question - it's possible that other wireless flash drives may work, but it is doubtful that all of them will. I am mostly familiar with AirStash, and it has been around for a long time. There are also portable wireless hard disk drives such as the Seagate Wireless Plus or SSDs such as the Kingston Wi-Drive. You have plenty of options to consider.

can anyone tell me a way of finding (in PL/SQL) if there are any DML statements which have been executed and have not yet had a commit or rollback issued?
i was thinking maybe i could use sql%rowcount, but it does not appear to persist outside a pl/sql block, and not through the whole session like I thought it did.

There is a presumption in Oracle that we manage our transactions properly. It should not occur that we find ourselves in a situation where we do not know the status of our transaction. A transaction is a set of steps along a predetermined path. In all but the most complicated transactions we should be able to trace all possible routes through the transaction and consequently know all possible statuses.
As a general rule, if you find yourself at the end of your transaction and you've handled all the exceptions then you should issue a commit. If you find yourself in a situation in which you need to undo any changes then you should issue a rollback. Don't bother trying to establish whether there are any changes: just do it.
SQL%ROWCOUNT has no scope beyond the previous SQL statement (it's not cumulative). Consequently, it's not a very reliable guide to the total state of the whole transaction. Besides, even if SQL%ROWCOUNT equals zero (e.g. an update that affected no rows) you still have a resource lock on the table. No other session can execute DDL on that table until you issue a commit or rollback.
