HT4718 after upgrading to Mavericks, i can't use Pro Tools   ***

after upgrading to Mavericks, i can't use my pro tools, and none of my iTunes files are there. what the ****? I want to revert back to snow leopard.
PLEASE ADVISE!!!! I'm in a panic!!
I was very happy with Snow Leopard, and then I tried to get an app to design my Christmas cards. The computer told me, i had to upgrade to Mavericks to use it.
Now everything is a complete disaster!

I was not prompted to make a clone, so i dont have one. I downloaded an upgrade of pro tools that is alleged to work with mavericks, but it does not.
I can't find any of my music files, iTunes downloads, documents, etc... But, all the software i purchased to work within pro tools is there. Im so confused.
Im PC, i have never downloaded an upgrade that made all my files disappear. This is totally unacceptable.

  • After upgrading to Maverick, I can no longer access iTunes Store.

    Hi,
After upgrading to Maverick, I can no longer access to iTunes stores. The layout for Mac AppStore also doesn't display properly. Perhaps the most annoying part is when I need to access secure website (even google.com), where I need to authorize the certificate. My current connection is behind proxy, but have no issues on all this issues before upgrading to Maverick. Please assist.

    Hello segordon21,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To move voice memos to your computer please follow the steps from the iOS 8 Help below.
    Move recordings to your computer
You can sync voice memos with the iTunes library on your computer, then listen to them on your computer or sync them with another iPhone or iPod touch.
When you delete a synced voice memo from iTunes, it stays on the device where it was recorded, but is deleted from any other iPhone or iPod touch you synced. If you delete a synced voice memo on iPhone, it’s copied back to iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes, but you can’t sync that copy back to iTunes a second time.
Sync voice memos with iTunes. Connect iPhone to your computer, then in iTunes select iPhone. Select Music at the top of the screen (between Apps and Movies), select Sync Music, select “Include voice memos,” and click Apply.
Voice memos synced from iPhone to your computer appear in the Music list and in the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. Voice memos synced from your computer appear in the Voice Memos app on iPhone, but not in the Music app.
    Move recordings to your computer
    Take care,
    Alex H.

  • After upgrade to Mavericks I can do Time Machine backups but I cannot have access to them

After upgrading my iMac 20" (early 2008) from Snow Leopard to Mavericks, I can backup with Time Machine and I can see that the copies have been made. But when I enter to Time Machine mode, all these copies in the right bar goes from pink to translucent in some few seconds, and I cannot have access to them.
I have a dedicated external 400GB HD for the copies, formated in Mac Os Plus, and I can go there and open, copy, etc. any file "manually", so, the copies are right (I guess).
Any idea about why I cannot "go back" in Time Machine, although it "sees" the disk, and the copies exist?
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • After upgrading to Mavericks I can no longer drag an app from one desktop to another.

On Mountain Lion I could move apps from one desktop to the other by simple dragging them to the right which would transition to the next desktop. Now the only way I can do it is to use mission control. Anyone else seeing this?

I actually have the same problem, since I upgraded to Mavericks my MacBook Pro can't seem to find the Bose sounddock 10. Has anyone found a solution to this.
It still works with the iPhone 5
    Thank you

  • After upgrade to Mavericks, i can´t choose wich is the primary monitor

I use 2 monitors, one in hdmi and the 2 in MDP. After upgrade OS, the 2 monitor is the primary, and i can´t choose wich is the primary monitor and the dock dont display on all monitor, like the announced.
Someone know how can i fix this?
That was the worst OS X update I've ever seen...

First of all, IMHO, you do not need A/V software on a Mac running OS X. Most of that stuff will cause problems. There are NO documented viruses that affect a Mac running OS X. There is an occasional malware report, but that usually is a result of visiting odd sites.
Use the MacAfee uninstaller and forget Avast. If you mean the MacAfee icon on the dock, just drag it off.

  • Need help: just upgraded to Mavericks, now can't use audio interface.

I just upgraded to mavericks, and now Itunes and my other programs don't recognize my audio interface.
It's a MobilePre USB preamp. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver without success. Interesting, QuickTime sends audio to the external preamp, the sound is filled with static. I've tried playing with latency, but that doesn't help.
I can't understand why Quicktime recognizes the external device, but Itunes doesn't. Suggestions are appreciated.
My machine is 21.5 inch late 2009 model with a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 12 GB of RAM.

Hope this references the equipment you are using.
The last update to the drivers is 1.1.3 Nov 2012
    http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/download/MobilePre-Drivers?popup=true&N ewLang=en&DocType=1450&q=MobilePre
If this is correct perhaps an email to Avid could help. I would think that they need to update their drivers to suit Mavericks.
There is also a link on that page to an article about Pro Tools and state that it is not supported on Mavericks at this time.

  • After upgrade of iPhoto I can't use it because it says I need OSX 10.7.5 and I have 10.7.4 - Can I undo the upgrade?

I did a suggested update yesterday for iphoto. When I wanted to use it today I got the message that I can't use this version of the application iPhoto with this version of Mac OS X. I  10.7.4, the application requires 10.7.5
How can I reset iphoto to the version I can use?

    Why not update to 10.7.5?

  • After upgrading to mavericks how can I connect my HP PSC 2510 photosmart all-in-one printer to my mac?

After I upgraded my macbook air to mavericks, my HP PSC 2510 photosmart all-in-one printer doesn't connect to my macbook air.  When I try to launch the all-in-one installer from the HP CD that came with the printer, I get a message saying it cannot open because powerPC is not supported.  The HP site has not been helpful in resolving this issue.  My understanding is I first must connect the printer to the wireless system (I use airport extreme) before using airplay for printer software upgrade.

Your suggestion is helpful, but after some digging on the HP site I found a detailed solution to my problem.  The link is: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01749025&tmp_task=setupCate gory&cc=us&dlc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001&lc=en&product=303770

  • After upgrading to Maverick I can print from Canon IR5050. Downloaded new driver from Canon site with no luck.

I can not print from Canon IR5050 after installing Maverick. I downloaded new driver from Canon with no luck.

I'm almost completely certain that the scanning feature worked before the update. Having said that though, I don't scan a great deal and it may be the case that when I have done, the printer was directly connected to the MBP. However, since I have a laptop it's far more logical that I would have had the printer connected to Airport Express for reasons of portability so I can't really see that I would have had the printer connected directly to the laptop. Besides this, I have no memory of having this problem previously. Therefore, I don't think my memory is to blame although of course, if it were I'd have no way of knowing!

Try all options except for the thumbnails.  If that fails:
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button,
navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option

Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2:  your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

  • I just upgraded to Mavericks and can't use my Epson Scanner

Everytime I try to import with my Epson V600 scanner Photoshop just crashes.   Anyone have this happen and find a solve?

Thanks for the help, part of it was that I was  using CS3 and that's a big problem with Mavericks.   Instead of spending hours working around it I bit the bullet and signed up for the photoshop cc service.  A bit steep but it's solved several problems.  I do have to say that I really like some of the new features so I'm not as annoyed by Adobe's blackmail as I could be.

  • IPhoto crashing after upgrading to Maverick on my 2011 MacBook Pro

Went through the upgrade process updating iPhoto, iMovie and Final Cut Pro.
Sent photo from my iPhone 4s.  Photo showed up on MacBook Pro in iPhoto which then crashed.
Restarting and reopening iPhoto brings me to same screen and crashes again.
    How to reload iPhoto?

    Apple Help Solved Problem
On Desktop Menu select "Go" to get list and hold down option key so that "Go" list shows "Library"
Click on "Library" and it reveals "Library" folders
Drag the following folders from the Library to the trash
    "Caches"   and "Saved Application State"
Then open the "Preferences" folder in the "Library"
there are three files that begin  com.apple.iphoto.xxx
drag those three to the trash
Then open the "Containers" folder and find the "iPhoto" folder
Open the "iphoto" folder and find the file  ".plist" and drag that file to the trash.
Restart and reopen iPhoto and all should be well with the new version.
You may have to open your old iPhoto Library using iPhoto's File menu
