Does command r during start up delete data and documents? My Mac Book Pro 2012 running OS X Mountain Lion, and it started glitching. Now, it will turn on, have a loading bar, at the bottom, and turn off in a minute. I don't wan't to lose my saved data as it is not backed up. Could command r fix this without deleting my data?

all it gives me is the Mac OS X Base System which has many folders with three letter names, an Applications folder containing utilities, library, private, and system. I can also go to network, which is empty.

"Delete data and restore" option in Nokia N8

I want to restore my N8 to fresh state as I have installed and uninstalled too many apps and they all have created and left a lot of files on C drive even after uninstalling them. They have ocupied some space on C drive.
I am going for "Delete data and restore" option in phone management. I will back up all data with Nokia Suite before the procedure. I just want to know what all apps which are installed by default will be lost. Please enumerate every app or thing that will be lost.
I know that default wallpapers, songs will be lost. I'm interested in default apps only. Likes dictionary, Zip, Communicator, Video editor, Photo editor, My Nokia, Recorder, Shazam, Msg. reader, Adobe reader, Nat Geo, Movie Teasers, YouTube, E! etc. I have mentioned most here, may have missed some. Please enlist in detail.

One more thing, this are should be improved by Nokia-uninstalling any app should remove it completely without any footprints.

If you go to this page (and are logged in to the store) you will find all apps your previously downloaded and these are the apps that will be removed when you do a full reset. You can re-install them again afterwards provided you have not done so 10 times before.
Please follow the steps below if you decide to completely reset your N8 and start with a fresh device:
If you have data on the N8-00 you wish to keep create a backup using Nokia Suite but when asked deselect the option to include settings in the backup. You can start a backup through Tools>Backup in the Nokia Suite menu.
Now disconnect your N8-00 from the PC and select the offline profile, press the on/off switch and from the menu which appears select and activate the profile offline.
Enter the code *#7370# followed by the security code 12345. Please be aware this reset may take a while. Your N8-00 will restart when finished.
After the N8-00 restarts go through the Device First Use sequence to setup the N8-00 correctly.
Now connect the N8-00 to your PC again and let Nokia Suite install the requires files on N8-00. After this (re)install the latest system update. When you go to the update screen in Nokia Suite your will either be presented by a system update or you can choose to re-install the current (up to date) version again.
After the update verify if there are any additional updates and install these as well.
After this you can restore the backup if you made one.

Go to me.com, logon and go to the FindMyiPhone. If it does not appear then there is not much you can do.
Next step would be to appleid.apple.com and change your password to cut off access to your iDisk.

Then you can start the GAP analysis: you check if all your requirements are fully covered by BC or not, in this second case you can start developing your own InfoObjects.

Deleting Data and request in infocube

Hi Guru's,
we are facing an issue with object S_RS_ICUBE
Before SP upgrade users are able to delete the request in the infocude who ever have the Activity 23
after upgrade they are getting authorization issue missing activity 06
if you give 06 activity users are able to delete the data as well with request
our current sp level is 06 in BI
can anybody help me on this

Please implement the following two notes to your system:
1355124 P22: No explicit DELETE authorization check
1363058 P22: No delete authorization check/selective deletion
After applying the notes, there will be a check for activity 06 if you
try to delete request from the infocube administration.
If a user has authorization for activity 06 but not for 23, then he can
delete the whole content of the infocube, but can't go to 'manage' to
delete a single request.
On the other hand if the user has both activity 23 and 06, he can delete
the whole contents and request by request as well because he is able to
go to the administration of the infocube.
Another restriction would not make sense as from the administration
the whole data of the infoprovider could be deleted as well by marking
all requests and pushing the delete button.
So the current design is that you can allow users who have no access to
the administration of an infocube, to delete the whole contents, but if
you give a user the administration along with the delete authorization,
he will be able to delete requests and the whole contents.

Stuck in unix command line during start-up. Help please.

I have an iBook G3 running on 10.3.9 (opaque, 16 VRAM).
After experiencing a number of freezes and crashes, I was having problems starting up with the system on the hard drive. I booted up with Disk Warrior 3.0 and it told me my directory was severely damaged so I rebuilt it using Disk Warrior.
After it was successfully rebuilt, I quit DW and re-booted. When the computer restarted first I got the usual gray screen with the Apple logo and the moving gear wheel. After about 20 seconds the screen becomes black with the following text in white in the upper left corner: "local host: / root #" and then a white cursor mark. I have repeatedly tried to re-boot but get the same black screen and text. I booted with the original OS X install disk and used Disk Utility to repair permissions but I still get the black screen and white test on start-up.
I don't know what to do. Please help!

Why does Vine Server not start with this script and work with the other?

I have the preferences of Vine Server set to start/run automatically when opening the programme.
If I double click the icon it works. Opens and starts.
If I use
activate application "Vine Server"
it opens but does not start.
If I use:
tell application "Finder"
activate
open application file "Vine Server.app" of folder "Vine Server 3" of folder "Applications" of startup disk
end tell
it opens and starts.
Anybody any idea as to why?
This seems to happen since I upgraded form 10.4 to 10.5.

Do you have multiple versions of Vine Server application, perhaps?
If so, that might cause the described behaviour.
You may try using full path to the current Vine Server application such as -
activate application "/Applications/Vine Server 3/Vine Server.app"
or -
tell application "/Applications/Vine Server 3/Vine Server.app" to activate

I'm not 18 yet but I would like to get my own verizon account so I can be in control of it. I just need to know if i have to be 18 and how much does it cost for activation because my phone will be 100$.

Depending on the law in your state most states only allow you to enter into a contract at age 18.
Please note due to your age and lack of credit history there may be a $400 security deposit, the cost of the plan you are choosing so that can be any where between $75-$120 and up.
Then there is an activation fee of $35 plus taxes and surcharges.
If you get service before Verizon sets up your bill closing date that may incur partial service cost as well as the month in advance.
So I would walk in for service expecting at least $600-$800 and after that the price will be stable. Barring any data overage charges.
This amount will not be the same for prepay.

Have run out of room on iweb, can't publish. Can I delete data and reclaim space?

I have been working on my website for ages, constantly doing and redoing and saving each time. Now I get a message that I've run out of room & can't publish. I kow I can buy more space, but it's annoying because I'm sure there is a mass of trash I could delete from the changes I've made. But where is it, and how can I dump it. Is it possible?

It's a regular error with MobileMe. Usually it says that you run oit of space.

How does PDF/VT relate to 'V'ariable data and 'T'ransactions

Could someone explain to me how PDF/VT 'supports' Variable and Transactionsl data ? I'm new to PDF/VT and I'd expected that it somehow made it easier to insert variable and transactional data, but I haven't found anything of that nature. I do see that VT supports Document Part Hierarchy and metadata. Is this the improvement related to VT - better ability to manage the documents within a single PDF file?
There also appear to be a number of other improvements, such as direct ripping of PDF without translating to Postscript first, JDF-aware metadata, etc. These improve print operations, but I don't see how they improve variable data handling.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

Good questions. I'll endeavor to provide a response.
The most important thing to understand about PDF/VT is that in and of itself, it is a final form file format. It represents the fully composited output stream of a VDP job. There are no “variables” in PDF/VT itself. PDF/VT provides the protocols for final form PDF to optimally respresent such an output stream.
PDF/VT-1 is built on top of PDF/X-4. All PDF/VT-1 files are totally valid PDF/X-4 files. PDF/VT-2 is based upon PDF/X-4p, PDF/X-5pg, and PDF/X-5g files - in the latter two cases possibly referring to Reference XObjects in external PDF/X-4 files.
There are two major areas in which PDF/VT supports VDP (and so-called “transpromo”) print streams:
Data optimization - space and RIP performance. Repeating objects, whether considered “fixed” or “variable” by whatever generates the PDF/VT, are represented via Image XObjects, Forms XObjects, and for PDF/VT-2 also Reference XObjects. Objects are defined once and then referenced many times. This can dramatically cut down the size of PDF files used for VDP. Furthermore, in conjunction with RIP technology optimized for processing PDF/VT files, such as the technology provided by products using the Adobe PDF Print Engine, use of XObjects is automatically recognized and triggers caching mechanisms that allow the RIPed results of XObjects to be cached in the RIP's high speed memory avoiding unnecessary repeated RIPing of common content. PDF/VT metadata also provides for “hints” to assist the RIP in such caching. This type of optimization makes it possible to use PDF for printing extremely graphically-rich color VDP jobs on very high speed (hundreds of pages per minute) digital presses now being developed and released to the market by digital printer manufacturers.
Metadata.In addition to providing caching hints, PDF/VT provides metadata support for tagging pages or sets of pages for operational considerations. For example, one could tag each “set” of pages associated with the statement for each customer of a financial institution and via such metadata be able to directly access the pages associated with one statement (“view or print the statement for Jane Doe of Anywhere, New Jersey”) or multiple statements (“view or print the statements for all left-handed, herniated, Californians who own a Toyota” assuming of course you have all that metadata on the pages associated with particular account statements). As another example, you could tag via metadata for pages of certain types such as “front covers,” “inside pages,” and “rear covers” where each page type is printed on a different paper stock or size and possibly on a different printer (one could print “all front covers” for “all statements for accounts in ZIP codes 11010 through 11199”). For printing purposes, typically these types of selective printing requests are handled via JDF which instructs the RIP to select and process pages based upon such PDF/VT metadata and other JDF commands.
Direct printing of PDF without conversion to PostScript has been occurring for a number of years now, especially starting with traditional offset print platemaking and now becoming much more prevalent for high-end digital presses, typically those used for VDP jobs. (Direct PDF isn't yet on typical desktop devices. PDF is still printed to PostScript from Acrobat on most such low-end devices.) PDF/VT really forces the need for direct PDF RIPs, but wasn't the only requirement for same. PDF/X-4 and PDF/X-5 were defined very much as a response to the needs for content at the highest level of abstaction (live transparency, color management, layers, etc.) for direct PDF printing.

Log table for reservation deletion date and by

Dear ABAP'ers
Can anybody share where to find reservation deletion log include when, and by whom.
I try to search it on CDHDR but it doesn't come up. I try to put reservation number in each "Change Doc Object", "Object Value", "Document Number" field, but it doesn't work.
Any advice?

Why does my iPod Touch keep changing the date and year?

Whenever I charge my iPod Touch after it completely dies, Safari never loads whatever site I'm trying to go on and the date always goes to Thursday, January 1st, 1970. I noticed the time always changes as well. i.e. it's 10:47am now and the time on the iPod says 5:35am. I don't know how or why it keeps doing this. I didn't mind it the first 2 times, but this keeps happening everytime I turn it on. Does anyone else's do this??

Deadline moniter - Dynamic latest start / latest end date and time

My requirement is to have the latest start and latest end time made dynamic. This is because each Personnel area or business unit has different requirements as to when they the notification and escalation to happen.
For example -
Business unit 1 wants escalation to happen after 5 days where as Business unit 2 wants escalation in 2 days itself.
Any ideas here

You can create a method in your BO to calculate the date for calculating deadline and pass it on to the workflow .....
Calculate the date as per your requirement and later populate it in the deadline step using the EXP expression
for eg. if you have 5 days calculate the date as per 5 days and time 1 min etc...
