HT4718 How to recover old iPhoto pictures after installing OS X on my mac?!

I just upgraded to OX S so I could get icloud and now Iphoto doesnt work!!! If I upgrade to the new iphoto will all my old photos be deleted?!
I didn't back them up because I didn't know this was going to happen.... Can anyone help please?

If you are talking about the App Store, try clicking Account under the Quick Links section. Enter the old Apple ID and password.  Once you get to the Accounts page you can edit/change your Apple ID there.
Update versus paid upgrade.

How to recover Passwords Plus data after installing Lion?

While waiting for DataViz to rewrite the app, get another hard drive and install 10.6 on that; re-start from there, you can then open Passwords Plus. Use whatever method you like to copy the data. A bit of a chore yes, but I can't think of another way.
There is in the AppStore Ascendo DataVault which performs the same function. I am going to wait a week for DataViz, then jump ship.

  • How to recover partition with osx after install

yea so i decided to install win 7 using bootcamp and made a partition for 50gigs. after following instructions the win 7 install menu came up were the partitions are located, and on the bottom it showed the partition i made for 50gigs that read (bootcamp partition) or something similar, anyways i clicked on it and it told me that win 7 could not be installed on that partition. so i clicked on advanced and then clicked on "format" again to reformat the partition again. after win 7 was installed succesfully and a few reboots later i cannot access or even see osx anymore. i know what and why its not showing up i just dont know how to reinstall the bootloader to access the partition again. does any dual boot loader work ok or what is the best way to make this work. thank you for any help in advanced.

When starting the system hold down the Option/Alt key to get a boot selection screen. Select Mac OS X to boot from. If by chance there is no OS X boot selection then you formatted the wrong partition and wiped out OS X. If that is the case you'll need to start over reinstalling OS X or restore from your Time Machine backup.

THen copy them to the other machine and import them there.
If you want the edit history and all versions then you'll need to use iPhoto Library Manager

  • How to recover deleted the pictures

How to recover deleted the pictures. When you change the software iOS6 iOS7 I deleted all the pictures myself and can not leave them back in iTunes

If you're still in the book mode you can try using the Undo command: Command+Z.  If you're left the book mode I'm not sure you can use it.
If you have TM copy of the library just before you deleted the photos from the pages bring that entire library back.  It will have the book in it.  To do so go to you Pictures folder and then enter Time Machine.  Go back to the time just before the deletion took place, select the library and restore.
Keep Both copies of the library as the current library may have photos that the backup doesn't.

  • How can I retrieve my contacts and pictures after installing iOS6 on my iphone?

How can I retrieve my contacts and pictures after installing iOS6 on my iphone? Don't call me stupid! I was relying on iCloud to have backed all this up, but turns out it didn't work. Can anyone help me get my photos back - they were of my baby daughter. Also, I've lost all my contacts. Please help.

Unfortunately no. The only way the phone backs up is if you make it back up. You either connect to iTunes and backup and sync, or you set it up for a wifi sync to iCloud. But you have to setup iCloud to start with. You have learned a hard lesson on how to make sure you import pictures on a regular basis like you would the digital camera. When things happen to the phone, this is the media that is lost the most (pictures in camera roll). After taking a number of pictures, and especially ones you consider important, you should connect the phone to the computer and import them, so there is a backup copy on the computer.
Contacts are saved in the backup as well, however they are really designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer, or backed up to iCloud or other cloud service. And, the only way to go back in time on the phone is to restore from a backup, but you also have to remember, you would lose everything on the phone that you had done since that backup, so it is a double edged sword.

  • How to Recover a Dark Picture with a Heavy Color Cast

I just posted this article about how to recover a dark picture with a heavy
color cast using Lab Color mode in Photoshop. I hope it will be helpful to
    others.

None taken. I am unfamiliar with ACR and would love to see (compare) what it
could do with the sample PNG file in the article, and how much time it took.
The results I achieved in the article took only a few minutes to
complete--though as I mention below, it took more than a few minutes to get
to the point where I could do it in a few minutes.
I happened across a web site one day discussing the techniques in Margulis'
LAB Color book, which interested me enough to purchase it. I found the book
very enlightening and have seen incredible results using the techniques he
describes as applied to my various images. I've also ready his Professional
Photoshop book which focuses more on CMYK, and found many techniques in
    there just as enlightening.
Ultimately the tools and techniques used are irrelevant if you get the
results you want... but if you find one that works faster, easier or better,
then certainly you should employ it.
I have no problem working in RGB, CMYK or LAB and find benefits from each.
The particular sample image I used in the article was one that I've spent
(too much) time cleaning up in various ways and in various color spaces (or
combinations thereof). It became my "poster child" image to work on as I
continue to build my Photoshop skills. The approach I used in the article
was the one I found most to be the fasted with the most effective results.
The original was a 6MP JPG file. I reduced it to the size in the article and
then worked on that size for the remaineder of the article. The resutls are
    equivelant in the fullsize file.

  • Transferring old iPhoto pictures to new MacBook

I am trying to merge my old iPhoto pictures from a MacBook running OS X 10.5.8 to a new MacBook running 10.7.5
I tried connecting the two computers with a USB cable, I can't seem to get the two to connect when I open finder.

No - merging keeps all versions of the photo , edits, faces and metadata - exporting and then importing keeps selected metadata and one version - either the original or the current version
do what you want but the only way to merge libraries is to use Aperture or iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -

  • I am trying to use my iPhoto pictures as my screen saver on my mac book air (lion)... however many of the pictures heads are cut off.  How do I fix this without the pictures looking distorted?

I am trying to use my iPhoto pictures as my screen saver on my mac book air.  Many of the pictures' heads are cut off.  How do I get the pictures to fit the screen properly without the pictures be distorted?

Open the screen saver control panel. Right above the preview window there's a popup menu. You'll probably want to set it to "Fit to screen" so the pictures will be resized to show on the display.

How do I export iPhoto pictures to a Scandisk in the order I placed them?

Do I understand correctly? You've manually arranged the photos in an Album, and you wan to have the same arrangement when you export?
Select the pics in the Album and then Photos Menu: Batch Change -> Set Title to Text "John's Birthday", for instance, and tick the box to append a number to each Photo. Now your photos are titled 'John's Birthday 001, John's Birthday 002 ... etc'
Then File -> Export and in the Export dialogue set the Filename to "Use Title"
Sort on Filename in the FInder and you end up with a folder full of images in the same order as the Album in iPhoto.

When you delete anything it's not gone. The OS marks the space it occupies as available for overwriting, but until that overwriting occurs it can be recovered. But... the software used to recover is expensive. For instance
