HT4743 I recently purchased a tv series on apple tv and it has now disappeared. Does anyone know why?
I am fairly new to this. The series doesn't appear to have downloaded to my iTunes but was on my apple Tv but has now disappeared.

There appears to be a temporary issue with the iTunes store, there are a number of reports of this coming in. I have the same issue on my Apple TV's, iOS devices and on iTunes on my computer, it appears to affect all content from the store (music, TV shows, movies, apps and books)

I have purchased an audio book from iTunes with my iMac.
Now I wanted to listen to it on my iPhone so I proceeded to transfer the purchase and looked for the book in the purchased section of the store in the iTunes on my iPhone but it did not show up.
Does anyone know why and how I can transfer the audio book purchased on my iPhone so I can listen while away from the desk?

Do you have the right boxes checked to sync the audio book to the iPod?

Note you have to check the boxes in Books pane for the iPod in iTunes to sync books in general and another box to sync Audio Books. -
When I bootup the icon for Elements shows up in orange. It changes to green only when I've gone to Finder and clicked on Elelments under the Devices list. This is a recent development. The icon used to be green upon bootup. Does anyone know why ?

I'm not affiliated w/ the developer, just a happy user that gave up fighting the apple podcast app a while ago. I used to have a bunch of smart playlists in itunes for my podcasts, and come home every day and pathologically synced my phone as soon as I walked in the door, and again before I walked out the door in the morning.
Since my wife was doing this too, we were fighting over who's turn it was to sync their phone.
Since I've switched to Downcast, I no longer worry about syncing my phone to itunes at all. I can go weeks between syncs.
Setup a "playlist" in downcast (ex., "Commute") and add podcasts to that playlist. Add another playlist ("walk" or "workout") and add different podcasts to that one.
Set podcast priorities on a per-feed basis (ex., high priority for some daily news feeds, medium priority for some favorite podcasts, lower priority for other stuff). Downcast will play the things in the priority you specify, and within that priority, it will play in date order (oldest to newest).
Allegedly, it will also sync your play status to other devices, although that is not a feature I currently use and can't vouch for. It uses apple's iCloud APIs, so to some extent may be limited by what Apple's APIs can do. -
My apple tv main menu no longer displays the "movies" section, just internet, computers, and settings. Does anyone know why or how to get it to show again? Recently rented a movie directly through apple tv but can't see the "movies" section in main menu now. WiFi and home sharing are working.

Check the location setting for the iTunes Store is correct.
You might also try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.

I just did the recent upgrade and now I keep getting an error message when I try to open a book on my Kindle app, I have deregistered the app and reloaded and the same thing happens, does anyone know how to fix?
You are seeing the message because the new AirPort Extreme has some specific System Requirements:

Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and AirPort Utility 6.3
AirPort Utility 5.6.1 in Snow Leopard may or may not work correctly with the new Extreme for all functions. As long as things are working OK for now, you can probably leave them "as is" and wait for another Mavericks update to fix some issues before you "upgrade".
If you have an iPhone or iPad, you could use that to administer any settings changes on the new Extreme. -
My friend and I share an iCal calendar through iCloud. Until recently, we received email notificiations anytime either of us made changes to exisiting calendar events or added new items to the calendar. Does anyone know why these email notificiations stopped?
iCloud was experiencing problems with this a couple of days ago, where many users with shared calendars were getting email notifications even though their iCloud settings did not select to receive them. Perhaps when they fixed this problem it reverted your settings to not receive email notifications. Got to iCloud and check your setting for this. If it still look correct, try turning off email notifications, save the change, then turn them back on again and save the change again.

I purchased the Killers new album and for some reason now my computer says it can't find the files. So I tried to download the album again off my iTunes acount but the cloud button won't appear. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Audiobooks (and ringtones) are currently a one-time only download. I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them who are requiring the one-time only download restriction. To get it onto your other devices you will need to sync it via a computer. Depending upon what country that you are in, Audible.com have their own app (Audiobooks from Audible) so you might be able to buy direct from them, though I don't know whether you can buy within their app or download audiobooks directly from them within the app e.g. whether they need to be copied via a computer. -

While trying to purchase a gift card to send via email, got a message this apple ID not eligible for purchase. I've purchased many times before and this has never happened. Does anyone know why?

I am very disappointed that the length of the tutorials offered at my Apple Store have been reduced from 60 minutes to 30 minutes! As for the $100.00 fee charged for the tutorials it has not been reduced to $50.00 This was an option offered to me for a year when I purchased my iMac.
Does anyone know why???

I purchased an iPod Touch 5 64gb mint condition, it was working great but I reset it and now it's asking me for an Apple Id. Problem is it want the original owners & not mine. I would have no problem contacting the person I bought it off of but I no longer have their information since when it worked I deleted the emails!
Does anyone know how to bypass this problem so that I can have the ipod work for me and my Apple ID?
I would even take it to Apple if they could fix it, would they? and what might that cost me?

I cant get my ipod touch to play through a docking station I have recently purchased. A second ipod touch works fine. Can anyone tell me why it wont play through speakers?

Sometimes a 4G iPod will not fully sead in the dock because its case configuration is different that previous models.
Also, sometimes an iOS update breaks compatibility.
Have you checked the dock manufactuer's support stie for compatibility?

I think they're slowly nudging people to switch, .mac & MobileMe are going away about July, may as well set it up now.
I understand .mac mail will still come through.

Sometimes I cannot play a song I've previously purchased. It is in my "Songs" list..but won't play. I show it is 'downloaded' in "purchased items" on the Itunes right-link menu....but it is NOT.
Tried 'not on this computer tab' and it does not come up there either....it shows it has been downloaded on my computer. I go back and re-download it, showing it was already purchased anyway....just to get it back in my song inventory.
Any thoughts why songs go missing ?I wouldn't be so sure. Kids sometimes do things like that. At any rate I'm afraid I don't have a good answer for why files might mysteriously vanish from an HDD. I've never had anything like that happen. However, you should be backing up your personal data to an external HDD, just in case. If you had been backing up all you would have needed to do would be to restore the missing file from the backup instead of trying to jump through all these hoops.
You're using OS X. OS X has Time Machine built in. Use it.
