How can I make Pages save changes while I work? Sometimes my MacPro laptop will freeze and I have to force quit losing my changes.

Locate the file on your Mac, plug in the USB stick (the mac should prompt you to open it, or do this automatically), click and drag the file from the computer (wherever it's saved to) to the USB folder. That's just putting an already saved file there.
To save it TO your USB stick, find it in the Save To diolog on the sidebar. Click it, then save it there.

Also if it's the Office 2004 version of Word it won't work in Lion since it's a Power PC program. Office 2008 will work in Lion if it's already installed when you upgrade. But it won't install on Lion because the installer program uses Power PC code. Office 2011 is the only one that will install and work on Lion.

If you still would like to use Ibooks you can add Collections. i.e.. work pdf's
View your collections, add a new one.
Now go to the pdf's you want to add to that collection and move them to the new collection you have just created.

How can I "Save" more than 1 page at a time?

Firefox 4.0.1. Safari 5.0.5. iMac OS10.6.7. Just started using Firefox. Can't figure out how to Save more than 1 page at a time. Tried to save 3pp article in NY Times, several times in several ways. No deal. Went back to Safari and did it easily. Probably because that's what I'm used to. How do you do it on Firefox? This is probably a dumb question, but please be kind. Any reply appreciated. I've spent a couple of hours trying to solve this myself.

Some menu entries in the main menu bar are hidden if you use the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).
You can see the difference if you use Alt+F to open the File menu or Alt+B to open the Bookmarks menu and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by tapping Alt or by pressing F10.
* "Bookmark All Tabs" (Shift+Ctrl+D) no longer shows in the Bookmarks menu unless you open the Bookmarks menu via the keyboard (Alt + B).
* "Bookmark This Page" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of that browser page.
* "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.

How can I zoom while working in iweb?

I am building a website on iweb, but the font is so small, I can't work... can't see. Is there a way I can zoom in and magnify the work area while I'm working in iweb? I have tried going under "windows" and clicking on "zoom", but it does not zoom when I do that.

Did you ever figure out how to get them back? The same thing happened to me yesterday. I was able to open the file in VLC media player (you can download this app), but the file had been corrupted. It was only the last clip I had recorded, all the others were lost. Even the clip that will play is messed up

HELP: How can I save page state on UIX page...

I have a fallowing situation:
1. I create UIX application with Wizard based on one ViewObject
2. When I get a page with ViewObject in table style I travers up and down through records and make some updates and create new records
3. But when I go back from update and create pages I always get initial browesing page.
My question is: how can I save state of browsing page when I return to it from update and create or any other page (save position look hide/show mode or anything else)?
I try to use StateManager class but I faild.
Can anybody help me or describe how can I do it on one example?

Sounds as though you want to remember the interactive state of your pages across requests.
That means you'll need to store the interactive state of your pages in something like the HttpSession that has a lifecycle spanning across multiple requests.
If you make your pages interactive using the HttpSession, then, when you navigate back from another page, they should still be in the state you left them.
The built-in data provider name for the HttpSession in uiXML is ctrl:httpSession. Use this to data bind the interactive attributes of your page, such as the disclosed attribute of HideShow.
In your event handlers, update the HttpSession to make your page interactive.
Be careful to use different keys to store information in the HttpSession for different pages.

While download what I thought was a free memorial program template for my dad's memorial I got a free trial of iworks, I already have iworks on my computer. Now I can't save my work on ipages. How do I restore and save my own iworks? Help please!!.

BACKGROUND INFO:
I am working on a memorial program for my father. I googled free memorial template. Followed the program and ended up downloading iworks 30 day free trial, a program that have already on my computer. I went to FInder found the free trial and dumped it into the trash. Then I opened my ipages and modified one of those templates for the memorial program. When I went to save the changes made a message popped up stateding that I could not save my work before I activated the free trial.
QUESTIONS:
1) How do I save my work on ipages?
2) How do I delete the trial program so I can access all my originial software and my previously saved documents?

Thanks Alex, but sadly I already tried that. Neither .docx or .xlsx files show up in the content list. They both show as a Chrome HTML document so changing how Firefox addresses those doesn't help since it thinks its the same type of file. I don't think I can manually add files into the "Content Type" left side nav.

In Firefox 2 I could hold down the Control key and click on an image to open a window with a "Save as" choice. Then I could name the image and chose a location to save it to. In Firefox 3, the window opens as before but the "Save as" choice does nothing. Base on my test again, I found that if the value of relative position is less than 1, it will uses the absolute position, you could change its position to relative position with the value less than 1 (e.g. 0), after save and re-check its position, you will
find that it still uses absolute position. By default it uses the absolute position, so when we add the new textbox to the document, its position is at left-top of document (left=0, top=0).
The RelativeHorizontalPostion property is used to specify its
relative to type (e.g. page, marging)
There are LeftRelative and TopRelative properties of shape, so please specify these properties’ value, then change
relative to type of shape.

How can I save a "trimmed" QuickTime movie at original high rez?

In the past, after lobbing off part of a QT movie using the "Trim" function, I was never asked what quality to save it in, it just saved when I clicked Save. I never imagined I was losing quality by saving a trimmed movie.
Now, however, when I click Save a window pops up giving me two choices: 480p or 720p. Are we to assume the movie we're working on was no greater resolution than 720 to start with? Or is our movie being condensed against our will?
A test suggests the latter is true. Even if I lob off just a teensy bit, a file saved at 720p is VASTLY reduced in size. What is going on here, and how can I save my movies at the same high quality they start out with? I find nothing in Help about this.
Secondly, if I may slip this less important question in as well: Sometimes when I click Save I get an error message that "This operation cannot be completed," and QT crashes. This has happened a number of times, and I can't see that I'm doing anything wrong. Any clues?

Are you referring to a previous version of QT or your current v10.1 Lion version? Since the introduction of Snow Leopard and QT X v10.0, Apple has been moving towards a single combined "Save", "Save As...", and "Export" function with the name shifting from "Save" to "Export" as it evolved. (I.e., in the latest Mountain Lion rendering you are advised to read the "pop-up" option description to tell if you are performing a "Save/Save As..." or an "Export" action.)

Since you have not indicated the encoded or anamorphic dimensions for the file you are working on, it is difficult to determine if the QT X player is acting normally or not here. Basically, whatever you are doing is triggering an export action which limits the dimensions to specific category levels. You cannot, for instance, export a 1280x544 (2.35:1) aspect file to a 1920x816 (2.35:1) aspect file but you can export it to a 720p 2.35:1 aspect file because it woud fit within the 1280x720 defined 720p dimension window. I.e., unlike QT 7 Pro, the application will not let you "upscale" the source file during the encode since this would reduce export quality and is the same as exporting the file at its current dimensions and simply rescaling the playback dimensions—a much faster workflow. As to "being condensed against our will," this could be the case in some instances. For instance, a 1280x720p30 file might be re-compressed to a 960x540p30 file for mobile device compatibility which, in turn, usually depends on the specific method of accessing the export action.

If you are referring the to QT 7 Pro "Save As..." workflow and you still have your QT 7 Pro registration key, then the obvious answer would be to install the QT 7 v7.6.6 Player and key it for "Pro" use. Both QT players can be installed and used under OS X v10.6, v10.7, or v10.8 simultaneously. (I.e., by default QT X installs and runs/updates in "Applications" folder while QT 7 Pro installs and runs/updates from within the "Applications/Utilities" folder where they should be left.

This would be more difficult to answer. Since QT X is a product "in development" and has proven to be less stable than QT 7 Pro and includes far fewer editing features, I, for one, do not use it for any serious edits no matter how minor they may be. On the other hand, I have no real problems with its playback and conversion features as long as I work within the application's intrinsic limitations as it continues to evolve.

My first few hours with iTunes Match and it seems like Apple are moving ever closer towards the Microsoft model. ran Match, worked fine; took a while but no worries so far. I then use my iPad to play some tracks on the Cloud via Airplay. The tracks download. They play. They show up on iTunes when I sync. They take up space. I can't get rid of them. I follow the above instructions and delete some playlists from my iPad. That works, but no wait - the playlists are also gone from iTunes.
I will take a break now because this is the opposite of fun. Can anyone explain how to delete music downloaded onto my iPad without it affecting the content or playlists on my iTunes library please?

A year ago I paid to update my Pages. If I click on the doc on the desktop the old Pages opens up and I can't save my work. Help!

A year ago I paid to update Pages to 4.1. If I click on a Pages doc on the desktop the old Pages opens up and I can't save my work and so I lose what I do. So for a year I have been remembering to open Pages using the icon on the bottom of the desktop and all is OK. But when my work is being reviewed and resent to me, then I have problems with opening that file and saving those changes. So I have been coping and pasting the resent work to me and putting it into a new doc.
So today wanting to fix this annoying problem and reading something on this forum I went into applications and moved a Pages something that was in Applications into the iwork 09 file. A pop up box asked if I wanted to replace the old Pages with the newer version and I clicked Yes.
Now I can't open up any of my Pages work on the desktop.
I have not shut down my laptop and restarted - would this solve the problem?
I am not going to panic - just yet ... but can anybody help!!
