I have OS X Yosemite - my current version of iPhoto is not compatible with it / how do i find the correct version of iPhoto?  The APP Store keeps sending me back to the same 'current version' that is NOT Compatible...

If you have Yosemite you need iphoto 9.6 from the App store - what is the exact error message you are getting?
Try dragging the iphoto Application to the trash from your applications folder (wait tot empty the trash) and then install iPhoto 9.6 from the App store

  • AppleTV and iPhoto '11 not compatible

Upgrading to iPhoto '11 has broken the link to my 160GB Apple TV. I can no longer view my iPhoto albums on my Apple TV. When synching with the Apple TV, iTunes gives me an error message telling me that it cannot locate my iPhoto Library. Any ideas on repairing this?

I understand your being sarcastic. But if I decide to ditch my current AppleTV in the near future, it will be to replace it with a Mac Mini with the HDMI port. I don't like the new AppleTV. At least the Mac Mini would allow me to view Hulu and similar websites on it.
But I wonder if the iPhoto '11 library is also problematic for the new AppleTV? The main reason it's such an issue for me is I love viewing my photographs on my HDTV screen. I find it a nice was to display all of them since I have limited wall space in my home.
I worry that the old AppleTV won't see any updates to make it compatible with the newer software being released. It's already not compatible with iPhoto '11. What's next? Not compatible with iTunes v11?

  • CR11 Report Viewer not compatible with MFC10.0

I upgraded to the Visual Studio 2010 (from 2008) last week. After the upgrade I recompiled all my applications and everything worked as expected except for the CR11 Report Viewer.
The latest MFC version (10.0) causes an "Unhandled Exception at xxxxx in yyyyy.exe 0xC00000005....Access Violation". This occurs in the MFC code where "DoVerb" is being called on the CR OLE object.
Because VS2010 allows applications to be recompiled to use a prior version of MFC I recompiled using the 9.0 version (the version from VS20008) and my "Print Preview" dialogs (which use the CR11 Report Viewer Component) work correctly.
It seems the Report Viewer is NOT compatible with MFC 10.0 (note: MFC10.0 doesn't interfere with the RDC because I can print reports from the applications; it's only the viewer that causes the application exception).
Does anyone know how to 'fix' this problem with MFC10.0/CR11Viewer?
    Thanks,
    Randy

    Hi Randy,
Because you are using the RDC in a C++ app there may be a work around, although it's still not officially supported. Download CR XI R2 and patch yourself up to Service Pack 6. SP 4 is a full build and then apply SP 5 and then SP 6.
Go to this link: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc and download the trial version of CR XI R2 and use your XI keycode, then apply the patches which you can get to by clicking on the BusinessObjects tab above, then Downloads.
Direct link to the Trial version: http://www.sap.com/solutions/sapbusinessobjects/sme/freetrials/index.epx
Also, we have not supported MFC classes for a long time now so if you can avoid using them that may help too, or at least within the RDC API's.
I'll check with our PM's to see if there is anything we can do as far as escalating this issue but I doubt it.
Your only option may be to use the 9 version as you noted it still works.
    Thank you

  • Iphoto 9 and 10.5.8 are not compatible!!

I purchased and installed ilife 9 and have been having issues with it since the beginning. It opens up to a blank box until you open up preferences.. then the events show up but when you click on the thumbnails in events.. the pictures will not open up individually. Also, nothing appears when you click on photos. The library says I have 12.6 gb in it.. but I am unable to open any of the photos or share, print or view. And forget about faces and places, its a bust. I also have tried to transfer photos from my canon g11 and my iphone4 and I am unable. I have tried everything... rebuilding library, clean reinstall, removing plist, etc.. i have paid technicians to come and to no avail... this is not working. I am extremely frustrated and if this version of iphoto is not compatible with my computer.. it should have been known. I know there have to be other people out there besides me with this issue.

Well actually, iPhoto 09 and 10.5.8 are perfectly compatible - millions of people use it the world over - and you have a problem specific to your computer.
As to how Apple "should have known" what’s wrong with your set up, I have no idea. And no, we don;t have floods of people on here reporting this issue.
    Let's try a simple test:
    Does this work.
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Can you do that?

  • Iphoto videos not recognized

It appears that iMovie does not recognize videos in my iPhoto libraries that are on my external hard drive.
I am wanting to transfer all my videos to DVD now.... but over time my hard drive has been maxed out, so iPhoto libraries have been taken off year by year.  So, even now, I have all years of photos on an external drive to just leave enough space for all my videos and 2011 photos to remain on my hard drive.
Is it that my iPhoto library MUST be on my hard drive for iMovie to recognize?
I tried exporting my iPhoto movies from iPhoto to a folder on my hard drive and then import into iMovie, but it said the file type was not recognized or something along that sort.  I had gone to iMovie help and it indicated I needed to have Quicktime 7 installed... I have Quicktime 10 installed....
It isn't format because it is the same camera creating the movies in previous years and my 2011 iPhoto library.

I am having a similar problem.  I recently downloaded iLife 11 and now imovie says that my movies in iphoto are not compatible and they are not showing in imovie.  I'm using the same camera that I've used for my previous movies and it has always worked before.
I can import them one by one, but it's a long process.  I thought that the newer version was supposed to make things easier.
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Canon EOS 100D is listed as compatible in Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 6.01 but when I connect my camera a message appears telling it's not compatible with the operating system?

Canon EOS 100D is listed as compatible in Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 6.01 and when I have checked for software updates there are none available.  I've downloaded the Canon software, connected to my mac via the cable and followed the instructions in the manual.  Sadly I just get a message saying it's not compatible with the operating system.  I've tried inserting the memory card into the mac to and it doesn't seem to see it.  Can anyone help please?

Camera RAW ≠ Camera driver, the RAW update is for the .CR2 canon raw image file (in your case) compatibility.
What happens when you try to import photos using Image Capture or iPhoto?
Can you take a screenshot of the error message?
I always prefer and recommend using memory card import over using the camera.

  • IPhoto not compatible with OSX Yosemite

    I have a MacBook Pro  (17 inch, early 2011) with a 2GHz Intel Core i7 and 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3.
A few weeks ago I downloaded the Yosemite operating system (10.10.3). Since then, my iPhoto application will not open. I can't save pictures to my computer from my phone and I can't edit pictures I've imported. When I try to open iPhoto, it says: "In order to open "iPhoto", you need to update to the latest version. The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac is not compatible with OS X Yosemite. Download the latest version for free from the Mac Apple Store."
I search the app store for iPhoto and no updates are available. The message displayed is: " The item you've requested is not currently available in the US store."
Anyone know what to do to solve this? I really need to be able to edit photos. Thanks for helping!

You need iPhoto 9.6.1 for use with 10.10.3.  Try the method Terence Posted in this topic to get it from the App Store:

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
Otherwise you can drag your iPhoto Library onto the Photos app icon in the Dock to covert it to a Photos library.

  • Conversion from VS2003 to VS2005 Crystal Report View is not compatible

I am trying to migrate an application from VS2003 to VS2005.  I am trying to run it locally, using the localhost method.  I am getting a parser error: The base class includes the field u2018CrystalReportViewer1u2019 but itu2019s type (CrystalDecisionsWeb.CrystalReportViewer) is not compatible with the type of control (CrystalDecisions.Web.CrystalReportViewer)
I have a tried a number of solutions, including removing and then readding Crystal Report references (picking the 10.2.3600 ones).
I also created a websetup project, trying either the windows installer and the merge modules.  Those both gave me the error "The setup requires Internet Information Server 4.0 or higher and Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 or higher.  This setup cannot be installe don Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows ME.  Please install Internet Information Server and run this setup again." so I guess I don't understand how localhost works, but I know it's not a true web server.
    I also followed a post to delete the assembly information that was in my web.config, which was      <add assembly="CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine, Version=9.1.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/><add assembly="CrystalDecisions.ReportSource, Version=9.1.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/><add assembly="CrystalDecisions.Shared, Version=9.1.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/><add assembly="CrystalDecisions.Web, Version=9.1.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"/>
and expected it to be readded when I re-added my references and rebuilt but there is now just an empty <assemblies></assemblies> tag.
Note that I have VS2003, VS2005 and VS2008 all installed on my computer as we have application in various stages of conversions.  I think I just downloaded SP1 for Crystal Reports for VS2005 but it doesn't specify when I do Help-About in VS so maybe I didn't.
I have spent so many countless hours and only just found this forum buried under the rather confusing SAP website.
Thank you SO much for any help,
    Penny

removing all of the references and adding the 10.2 references is a good start.  the problem is most likely that you still have a 9.1.5000 reference to CrystalDecisions.Web in the HTML source of your web form with a viewer control on it.  Easiest way to upgrade that is to delete the viewer control and drag a new one on from the toolbox.  the drag and drop of the viewer control is what will populate your "add assembly" tags.

  • I just upgraded to os 10.9.5. When I try to open iPhoto, I am told that the version I have(9.3), is not compatible with the os. But it came with it when I upgraded. What do I have to do to get an iPhoto that works with 10.9.5? TIA

I just upgraded to os 10.9.5 on my 15 " macbook pro from os 10.7.5. When I try to open iPhoto, I get the message that it is not compatible with the os. How can that be??? It came with the upgrade. It says the version of iPhoto is 9.3. How do I get an iPhoto that works with os 10.9.5? TIA

This screenshot shows which previous versions of iPhoto are compatible with Mavericks.  It also indicates which versions qualify for a free upgradeto iPhoto 9.5.1 and which require a purchase:
Note 1:  every day more users are reporting problems with iPhoto 8.1.2 so I've included it in the non compatible category.
Note 2:  If your previous version of iPhoto was iPhoto 7 (08) or earlier you'll need to download and run the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 application on the library before opening it with iPhoto 9.5.1

    Hello,
seems to me that you maybe only updated the syncengine but not portal/webservice.
I had that error once after an recovery from scratch and forgot one of the hotfixes to apply to all services.

  • Why is a video clip from iphoto not compatible with imovie?

i have a video clip in iphoto and when i try to add it by dragging it into the videos in imovie, it says "the file will not be imported. it is not compatible with imovie". this video clip was taken with my friend's point and shoot type camera, then put on her computer, then put on a flash drive, then put on my computer. thank you so much for any help!

    Welcome to iMovie Discussions.
Some "..point and shoot.." cameras create movies in an iMovie-compatible ".mov" format, but others create .avi files, or they record in the MPEG-1 format which iMovie can't unscramble.
Not all point and shoot movies are compatible with iMovie, even if they play using Apple's QuickTime movie player which iPhoto relies on.
These non-compatible movies need to be converted to .mov format, or some other compatible format such as DV or AIC, before trying to import them into iMovie. If you have QuickTime Pro, you can just open the movie clips and then use 'Export' to save them in the .mov format.
..More details from me - or others - later; I'm dashing out right now for a bite to eat..

  • Videos in iPhoto are not iOS compatible

When I've imported videos shot on my Lumix camera to iPhoto, it imports and plays them, but iOS devices won't import them when iTunes syncing.  Clearly, they are incompatible.
"Get info" shows the offending videos are 1920 × 1080, H.264, Linear PCM, Timecode, HD (1-1-1).
Is there a way of converting the videos to make them iOS compatible from within iPhoto?
(I'm guessing I'll need to convert the videos before importing them to iPhoto in future.)
    Thanks.

    What format are they?
No, iPhoto does not have a video conversion feature.
