    No.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    iCloud: Find My iPhone
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

  • Cannot sync my iPad mini or my iPod touch. I have never had problems in past. Last sync, Jan. 2013

Cannot sync my iPad mini or my iPod touch. I have never had problems in past. Last sync, Jan. 2013. Have done diagnostic on both with itunes as it does recognize them and they comes up clean. Where do I go from here?

The music should be on your syncing computer.  Just sync the music to the iPod.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
However, the music and movie redownload is only applicable to the USA with the latest iTunes since iCloud (beta) is now available in the USA.

  • HT1391 I have lost my iphone ,can i find it with serial number ??

My iphone devise has been stolen ,i wish to locate it with my serial number ,how could i find it ?

No, you can't trace it via the serial number. If you set up the Find My iPhone service prior to your iPhone going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors: the iPhone is turned on, connected to either the 3G or a WiFi network, or has not had the Find My iPhone service disabled or the iPhone been completely restored. Log into icloud.com and go to the Find My iPhone section. If you did not set up Find My iPhone, check with your cell carrier. Some carriers offer their own tracking service, though you usually have to sign up when you still have the phone and have to pay for the service.
If your carrier does not offer such a service and you did not set up Find My iPhone, then there is no way to track the unit. Notify the police and your cell carrier, and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPhone (the iTunes Store, for instance).
By the way, you posted in the iTunes Store forum, not usually the best place to ask a question about an iPhone.
    Regards.

  • An unknown error occurred -54 in itunes this happened after i'd bought new iPod touch and synced it to my iTunes can you not have two iPods on iTunes account??

Please help i bought a new ipod touch and synced it to my itunes account so i had both ipod touch's on it and now i have an error flashing at me and i don't know what to do??

    == Error -54 ==
From an OS9 reference, error -54 is a software lock on a file or a permissions error. (Some of the old codes still apply to OSX although there is no formal list of OSX error codes.)
First, try simply restarting your computer.

Unknown error (-54) while syncing ipod - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1082953 - problem was locked files

Error -54 possibly related to Touch Copy - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3727114 - cleared by deleting preferences on iPad.

  • Problems after downloading the lastest version of iTunes for my iPod Touch. Now whenever I switch on my laptop and access the internet I get an error message. 2nd time this has happened and I'm fed up trying to fix it. Anybody having similar problems?

I've downloaded iTunes 10.5 onto my iPod Touch, no problems but I've now got a constant error message on my laptop everytime I switch it on and access the internet. The message is "The procedure entry point xmlTextReaderConstName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxml2.dll"
This is the 2nd time this has happened. Last time iTunes Support called and we ran through a load of checks to no avail. The only option was to delete iTunes completely off my laptop and go for a new download of it. Can anybody tell me how to do it - didn't write it down last time, silly me, never thought it would happen again. Also sent an email to iTunes Support - waiting for a response.

  • Is there an App I can install that will enable me to recover my iPod touch if it is lost or stolen?

If you know of one, please contact me directly.

If you have iOS 5 you can set up the FIndMyiPod feature on the phone.  Go to Settings>iCloud.  There is also the paid FindMyphone app.
Just be aware that they onl work if wifi is on and within range of an open wifi spot or a wifi spot the iPod is set up to automatically connect.  In adition if stolen, all the person has to do is to place the iPod in recovery mode and restore to factory defaults.  That erases he feature.

    Hi nancy mfromamity harbor,
Welcome to the Support Communities! It sounds like reinstalling the Snow Leopard operating system is your next step.  This should not affect the documents and data that you currently have on your iMac. I'll include the information to show you how below.
Mac OS X 10.6: Reinstalling Mac OS X
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH6606
Under some circumstances, you may need to reinstall Mac OS X. You can reinstall Mac OS X while keeping your files and user settings intact.
Note:To reinstall Mac OS X from another computer on your network, see:
Using another computer’s DVD or CD drive
    To reinstall Mac OS X:
Insert the Mac OS X installation disc and double-click the Install Mac OS X icon.
Follow the onscreen instructions. In the pane where you select a disk, select your current Mac OS X disk (in most cases, it will be the only one available).
If you want to control which parts of Mac OS X are installed, click Customize, and then select the parts you want to install.
To start the installation, click Install.
If you purchased a standalone version of Mac OS X, these installation instructions are in a PDF file located on the Mac OS X installation disc.
If you need to reinstall the version of Mac OS X that was on your computer when you purchased it, or if you need to restore all the software on your computer (including Apple software, third-party applications, and other printer drivers), refer to the documentation that came with your computer.
If you need to reinstall Mac OS X and you’ve been using Time Machine to back up your applications, files, and user settings, you can easily restore this information from your Time Machine backup disk after you’ve reinstalled Mac OS X.
Nancy, here is the contact information if you need technical assistance to get your iMac up and running.

  • I'm having issues with my apple iPod Touch that I bought a month ago, can you help me?!?!?!

I don't know what to do it keeps racing around in circles and idk what I should do, I'll never buy another product from Apple

What do you mean by racing around in circles? Have you done any damage to your phone? Like drop it or get it wet?

  • Stolen MacBook. Can you see if iCloud is on to wipe it?

I Have had my Macbook stolen. I can see from the tracking program he has managed to get in to my password protected user account some how and looking at my stuff. I made the error of locking the screen with this program then trying to wipe the MacBook remotely vid iCloud but all iCloud says via my find my phone app is that it is off line.
could this because icloud is turned off on my macbook but still listed in my devices as it was on at some point. I can not remember if it was on or off before.
OR would iCloud know I deactivated in on my MacBook previously and not list it?
I Am slightly worried how good this guy is if he got around my user account password or is that quite easy?

You can't do a thing because the computer is offline. If you set Find My Phone to erase the drive then it should do so once the computer comes online.
What To Do If Your Mac Is Lost Or Stolen
If you activated Find My Mac before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if it is connected to the Internet by Wi-Fi. What you cannot do is track your computer using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your computer for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty. Be sure to report the loss or theft to the local police. Have the serial number handy. If your Mac is found it cannot be returned to you if you don’t have the serial number and proof of purchase.
Find My Mac can be used from Find My Phone at iCloud.com and via Find My Phone on your iDevice.

  • If my iPod touch was lost or stolen, can someone else wipe it without the passcode?

I haven't been able to find my iPod touch since my nephews were here about 5 weeks ago.  Odds are, it's just lost here in the house with a dead battery.  I've tried to use the find my iPhone app and it hasn't found it yet.   It's always offline.  On the off chance that it landed in sticky hands, can they wipe it clean without the passcode?  Can  I still track it with the serial number?  Just curious....

Yes, anyone can wipe it clean. A serial number is not used to track it. You must have used Find My Phone to track it.
What To Do If Your iDevice Is Lost Or Stolen
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. I now have my daughters iPad can you please tell me why I can't set up iCloud.in settings the iCloud is greyed out also how do I change her mail account to mine?

To change your iCloud ID or password you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your other ID.  If you need to migrate any of your daughter's iCloud data to your account, choose Keep on My iPad when prompted, then choose Merge to upload it to the new account.  If not, choose Delete from My iPad.
