We are fellow users here on these forums (and this is the Using iPad forum), you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple - I've asked the hosts to remove your phone number from your post (it's not a good idea to post personal info on any public forum).
Unless you had Find My iPhone enabled on it then there isn't any way to locate it. If you did have it enabled then you could try locating it either via http://icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone on another iOS device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPhone disabled on it.
If you think that it was stolen then you should report it to the police. You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc., and you should contact your carrier.

It sounds like it was not enabled. Unfortunately there is little else you can do but change your Apple ID password and report your lost phone to local law enforcement & wireless carrier as the article suggests.
What to do if your iOS device is lost or stolen
If you did not enable Find My iPhone on your missing device
If you did not enable Find My iPhone before it was lost or stolen, you can't use it to locate or protect your device, but you can still follow these steps:
Change your iCloud password to ensure that no one else can use your device to delete or make changes to your iCloud data.
Report your lost or stolen device to local law enforcement and your wireless carrier. Apple doesn't track or flag lost or stolen products, but you can use My Support Profile (supportprofile.apple.com) to find a list of serial numbers for products that you've purchased or registered with your Apple ID. -

I don't think you're on iOS 5, I think you're using iOS 6. That's the latest version.
Unless you've used iCloud to back up your documents, you won't be able to restore them. And for future reference, you don't have to uninstall Pages to update your iPad anymore. Sorry about this. -

IMEI number is no use.
If you can't track it using find my phone.
Then report the lost to the local authority and your phone carrier.

i can provide you by serial numberif find my iphone was enabled on the device then you should be ok, log into icloud and select the find my iphone, on the devices tab click the device in question, if a location comes on the phone is swiched on, if not and the phone is turned off select the email whan found option and also i would send a request to wipe the phone and send a alert to the device so if any one turnes it on they will see the message that it is stolen

Is your iPod online or offline? If it's offline or physically turned off; no power. Your only option is to physically go look for it. If your online and you set up find my iPhone with iCloud you should be able use that to help you, BUT if you did not set this up before you lost the iPod, I believe your back to physically go look for it, sorry.
