HT4759 I've downloaded iCloud to my PC.  Now what?

So far, so good. But when I try to sign in using my Apple ID (the one I've been using for iTunes) , I get an error message saying that although my Apple ID and password are valid, they can't be used for iCloud.
So what do I have to do so that I can use my Apple ID for iCloud?
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Gail.
Here's my situation: I'm subcontracted to a small company where everyone uses Macs.  They want to include me in something called iCal (iCalender. . . ?) so that we can share meeting dates and that kind of thing.
Could that not happen, though I am but a wretched PC user?
Dave

    I downloaded 3.6.6. Now what do I do next? I cannot find the areas you mentioned to find out what version I now have. Do I have 3.6.6 yet? I do not like video instructions.

  • HT4759 can't download icloud my system only seems to have mobileme dose this mean my mac is to old

    I only have mobile me on my mac dose this mean it is to old for icloud

    Please always post your operating system when you have a question.
    The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is non non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
    To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
    Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
    Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
    The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
      and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
    MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
    MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
    Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
    Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
    It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
      You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
      If you are running Leopard on an Intel Mac you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard to access the Mac App Store - it's available in the online Apple Store. However if you have a PPC Mac you cannot run Snow Leopard and cannot proceed further.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 download paused before completion. Now what do I do?

    Earlier today I purchased a PSE upgrade. Before the upgrade finished the activitiy was paused. What can I do to get the download to complete?

    Just download the full trial version and register it with the serial number you got with the upgrade purchase.

  • I've downloaded Mountain Lion... now what? (Yes, laugh first, if you must... but nothing is happening!)

    There's a new icon in my dock: install OSX Mountain Lion (with an arrow above it).
    Clicking on icon does nothing.
    ***? ...Anyone?

    You should have an application in your Applications folder named "Install OS X Mountain Lion.app". Normally when the download is complete, the application starts on it's own and you can begin installation. Then the app 'disappears'. See if the app is there. If not, it may not have concluded downloading.

    If it's PHP and MySQL you're interested in, why are you posting to a Java forum?
    PHP is a Web scripting language:
    http://www.php.net/
    If you want to use MySQL with Java, you'll have to learn enough about SQL and relational databases to be able to get into MySQL, create some tables and users, and add some data. Then you'll use the MySQL JDBC driver to let your Java app access those database tables and do CRUD operations on them (Create/Read/Update/Delete).
    There's a JDBC tutorial under the Tutorials link to the left on this page.
    Here's a Java app that will let you run any valid SQL statement you wish against any database:
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class DataConnection
        public static final String DEFAULT_DRIVER   = "sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver";
        public static final String DEFAULT_URL      = "jdbc:odbc:DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=c:\\Edu\\Java\\Forum\\DataConnection.mdb";
        public static final String DEFAULT_USERNAME = "admin";
        public static final String DEFAULT_PASSWORD = "";

         * <li>username</li>
         * <li>password</li>
         * </ol>
        public static void main(String [] args)
            DataConnection db = null;
            try
                if (args.length > 0)
                    String sql      = args[0];
                    String driver   = ((args.length > 1) ? args[1] : DEFAULT_DRIVER);

  • I downloaded Photoshop Elements 10. Now What?

    There are so many files. Deploy, install, etc. I installed it and now where is it? I just want to open the file and have it on my desktop everytime I want to use Photoshop

    Which operating system are you using?  For Windows you can find the program under Start>All Programs.  For Mac OS you will find the Photoshop Elements folder inside your Applications folder.
    You are welcome to make a shortcut/alias of the Program and place it on your desktop.  I would advise you to not just move the program itself as it will either no longer work or you will significantly reduce it's functionality since it will no longer have access to it's associated support files.

  • Accidently downloaded ios 7.0.3, now what?

    how do i restore my ipad? this 7.0.3 looks absolutly terrible, safari has no google search, homescreen deletes half your background, slide ANYWHERE to unlcok(redisulous)
    anyone? how do get it fixed?

    safari has no google search
    Yes, it does. Just put in your search where you enter the web address (same as Google Chrome, desktop Safari and other web browsers).
    You cannot downgrade. Did you not look at the Apple website to learn what iOS 7 looked like anytime in the past few months?

  • I downloaded iCloud and now I can't find my e-mails

    Where do I find my e-mails after I downloaded ICloud.

    I don't know what you mean by "downloaded icloud" - perhaps you signed into your accout at settings>icloud.  At any rate, you need to go to settings>Mail,...   and create an account for the mail app using your icloud ID and password.  Be sure to choose iCloud from the choice of types of email accounts.

    I tried to download icloud for pc windows vista with 2.1.2 and when it was downloading almost finished it said it belonged to an unknown to me user?

    You need to explain that, before you finished downloading something said that it belonged to another user ?
    What said that, can you post a screenshot?

  • HT4759 how can I download icloud for windows 8?

    I am trying to download icloud to my new VAIO with windows 8 , but i can´t.  need some helppp

    iCloud Control Panel isn't compatible with Windows XP, so you can't get your Photo Stream photos onto the PC, for example. However, you can still access to all the iCloud services in http://www.icloud.com. Just log in with your Apple ID and access to Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Notes, Reminders, iWork files, etc.

  • New iphone 4 outlook contact updates not syncing to phone since i downloaded icloud

    Just purchased my first iphone after only using Androids or Blackberry, from Verizon.  At the store they helped me set up itunes on my laptop to sync my Outlook Contacts and Calendar to the phone.
    It seemed to be working fine until I was offered the opportunity to download iCloud. Now the calendar entries on my computer still transfer to the phone but the contacts are not transferring. When I went back to Verizon to ask...they suddenly have amnesia and told me to contact Apple.
    In settings under iCloud I have Mail, Contacts, Calendars all set to "On". I can't see anything else that should be on.
    Any suggestions?

    I'm having the same problem with one of my apps. I'm just going to wait it out and I feel fairly confident that this issue will clear itself up in time on its own. If not, I'm just going to delete the app...the app is I Say Free so no big whoop.
