How about Mountain Lion?,I can't go to the library folder, how can I do?

Or you can just hold down the Option key and go to the Go menu in Finder. The Library folder will be shown there so you can select and open it.

As the others have stated, you're on Mountain Lion with 10.8, anything. But you can check your version of the software by going to the apple in the upper left corner of the screen and clicking it and selecting "About This Mac". That will open a box that shows your software version. Once there you can click on "More Info" that will tell you everything about your specific mac configuration.
    Welcome to the Mac family.

  • How will mountain lion affect my office for mac 201111

How will mountain Lion affect my office for Mac 2011

I have been using Office for Mac 2011 for almost a year now and the issue started immediately after doing the upgrade.
When I start Outlook I can see that it takes 1 minute plus to set up the identity.
When it finally runs it is very slow and no fun to use. It seems that Outlook is using very few resources when I look at the activity monitor.
Overall it seems that my IMac has become slower than before upgrading to 10.8.
I do not have support with MSFT anymore and I do hope that somebody does report this issue to MSFT.
To me it seems to be very clear a result of the upgrade.
    Hope that helps.

  • General question about Mountain Lion

I've kept clear of Lion on both my MACS because of all the "bad press" it got, I'm still running Snow Leopard on my MACS and I've never had a day of problems with either. Also I run Logic Studios on both my MACS and didn't want to chance having issues with interface compatability, lack of drivers and such. My question is kind of simple and for better or worse comes down to opinion, what is the general feeling about Mountain Lion? Is it a big improvement over Lion? Is it more stable with less bugs? Any issues running Logic? I'm "playing with the idea" of upgrading but I want to do my research first. If Mountain Lion is not a big improvement over Lion or if people are having issues with running Logic I'm going to stick with SL.
Thanks for your opinions in advance.

Be cautious about listening too much to replies you're likely to get. These sort of questions in a place like this are like magnets to people who are having problems and want to complain about it. You're likely to hear some horror stories that don't represent the majority of cases.
ML has been excellent so far for me, faster than Lion and no serious bugs I've discovered so far. But if you upgrade, be sure to do your homework: backup, check compatibility of all your software (including things like printer drivers) and repair the hard drive with Disk Utility before installing.

  • Frustrated about Mountain Lion too... but.....

I actually have been very excited for this Mountain Lion update! I am a new Mac user, this 27 iMac that I got on 6/21 is AMAZING, and already I feel that I will never venture back to Windows. After learning this OS, and finding out how easy it was, and just made more sense than Windows... I was even more excited about the update that integrated all the iOS stuff, as I have an iPhone and iPad as well. ( got the ipads the same day.. iphone user for 2 years).
I requested the code on the 25th, and have yet to get it in my email. Yeah, I am frustrated but after really thinking about it, the bottom line is.. I will get it, I won't have to pay for it, and all will be well. I am not sure why there are so many people on these forum that are so upset, that they start condemning apple because something is not perfect.
LOL maybe I am still used to Windows where nothing was perfect, and this would have been a normal thing to expect. Oh well... I still am excited to get my code, and check out the new features. Also, I am sure I will run into lots of issues that I have not attempted yet, and will need help, and I hope to come to these forums and find the answers I need.
    Thanks.

I requested the code on the 25th, and have yet to get it in my email.

  • How many Mountain Lion updates I have?

    Hi everyone, my question is:
I can update one second mac (iMac 27 ') having paid a mountain lion once in my McBook pro 15'?
    Thanks!

    Wastedyou-th wrote:
And not charge me a second time?
No. The easiset way to accomplish it is after you DL the first time, before you install, choose install later or just quit out of the installer. Go to your /Applications folder and find and copy "Install OS X.dmg" to a pocket drive or some other media. The reason is, that after install it self destructs. When you're ready to install just double-click on it.
If you don't do it this way the installer will still be avaiable to you in the Apps Store but you need to DL it again.
How many updates I have with one payment?
Updates are free and you'll get them regularly until there are no more updates avaialble for the system. Usually years.

  • How does Mountain Lion Authentication work?

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard and am trying to understand how moving/saving files works now. If I want to move a file from an external disk by drag and drop I now need to authenticate with a password. If I want to move a file to the trash or change a file name I have to enter a password. Can someone explain this and is there a Knowledge based note on this? Is there a way to disable the requirement for a password? I went to the Finder help and it was no help.
Any tips on this would be appreciated.

I did check this. Read & Write for my account and Read Only for Fetching and Everyone. AppleCare says this new Authentication is a security feature of Mountain Lion (I guess probably in Lion also). From what I have tried if you try to move/write any files to the hard disk, change file names in the finder, move files to the trash, etc. the password has to be entered. I appreciate Apple providing the uer with better security, but if I want to trash a file or change its name I don't want to have to enter the password. This is overkill. I was asking what are all the rules for how it behaves and can it be disabled?

  • How download Mountain Lion?

I bought OS X MOUNTAIN LION, I recived the serial number and they told me to download it from the apple store. It doesn't appear!
    How can I do? Thx

You can use the redemption code at the App Store. (Not the Apple online store).
Launch the App Store. Select either Top Charts, Featured, or Categories at the top of the window then click Redeem under Quick Links on the right.
What OS X do you currently have installed?

  • Any news about Mountain Lion not closing open files / folders on smb server shares?

    Hey Apple, anyone listening?
Are there any new about this issue, where Mac clients cannot move/edit/rename each others files and folders on a smb server share? We are a graphics work group in an otherwise Windows-centered enterprise. We have mac clients with OS X 10.5.8, 10.6.8, and recently 10.8.5. None of the older clients can work with files or folders created by the new machine, meaning that InDesign files will open read only, files and folders cannot be moved or renamed. This is absolutely critical in a flexible work environment, where any graphics designer must be able to jump into any other project on short notice.
As mentioned in other threads around the web, this seems to be a problem not with file permissions but with the finder not releasing/closing files and folders correctly when not actually in use. (a known issue is the fact, that i.e. Acrobat pdf must not be viewed in column views preview, if anyone else wants to overwrite that file, but this issue here goes much further). We urgently need a fix for that!
I'm really desparate about this topic, since the IT-department is already reluctant to offer mac support and to look into these problems; if there is no solution to this, we will be switched to windows workstations by the end of the year ... Apple, do you want that? We surely don't!
    A frustrated user

    Hi,
thanks for your answer. Does that mean, that there is a solution to this on the server side?  Is this ACL stuff a matter of setting up the server correctly, rather than a problem with mountain lion's networking?
If i could be sure about this, I would approach our IT department... (the are just waiting for some Mac User pestering them ) ...

  • HT201250 how uninstall mountain lion - nikon coolscan software no longer works

After installing mountain lion a few moments ago, I have not lost a valuable resource - the ability to use my Nikon CoolScan 5000.  Since this product cost a lot of money, I would like to just uninstall mountain so that I can still use the software associated with this great scanner.
I have never used the Apple Support Community before, so not sure if this is manned by employees of Apple who can help me or if this more other Apple Users.
    Thanks!

Good news.  I took the iMac to the local Apple Store and the Apple Geniuses at the Genius Bar were able to help me out.  Since I had Time Machine backing up files they were able to wipe everything from computer and reload back to where I was.  I still have the installation option to re-install Mountain Lion if I want, but for now I am going to keep where I am.
So if you ever run into this problem, schedule an appointment at the Genius Bar.
    Thanks!

  • How come mountain lion reminders tell me a birthday is today when the date is tomorrow in addressbook

I have just installed mountain lion.  for some reason i get two alerts for the birthday of a friend, one implying that it is today and one that it is tomorrow.  I checked in addressbook and the birthday of that friend is correctly input as tomorrow.
is this a bug or is there a problem on my setup?
    paul

As you can see below, it is set up to remind me the day before but the problem is that the entry is TWICE in the calendar, it is therefore reminding me both for today's entry and tomorrow's entry. In addressbook, i checked and she is only ONCE with ONE birthday.

  • Bought my mac august 12... and im only just finding out about mountain lion? abysmal

so i bought my macbook at the beginning of august 2012, and 13 months on when i go to purchase a version of logic for the first time i'm only finding out that actually
    a) i didn't get the newest os at the time &
    b) i was entitled to a free upgrade.
why was i not told this at the time of purchase? what kind of company puts the onus on the customer in this situation? this is an abysmal bit of customer service on apple's part and i'm so frustrated. it's only £14, but it is the principle of the thing (and having to pay an extra 10% above what i want to pay for logic).
least i deserve is a refund for mountain lion. not happy at all. but of course, apple has no complaints department. the arrogance.

    No complaints department?
Have you actually tried contacting apple customer support? I for one have found them to be most helpful in store and on the phone. Second to none in fact.
You're obviously frustrated, but perhaps try talking to apple. I'm Sure that they would honour an upgrade in my experience of having dealt with their customer services department (although I'm not guaranteeing it). They would only need to check when your machine was purchased to see that you would have been eligible, and a short phone call to explain your situation would more than likely suffice.
I have never found Apple to be an arrogant company in the slightest. The complete opposite in fact.

  • How does Mountain Lion create a new mailbox?

I cannot create a new mailbox in Mountain Lion with either + or menu. Hints welcome.

I never did find a mailbox - I wasn't even able to name or position it. I finally quite Mail and restarted. For whatever reason, I was able to create a new mailbox. Thanks for your response, it encouraged me to look and try again.
