HT4796 i can't find the music that migrated from my pc to Mac, why?
I used Migration assistant to move my music, and it took 8 hours to copy, but then didn't transfer any of my music that was on CDs or if it did, I can't find it. Help!
Get a blank external powered drive, connect it to the PC and right click on it and select Format and either FAT or exFAT.
Next head to your music folder and drag and drop copy to the external drive.
When finished, use the Taskbar "safely remove hardware" to unmount the external drive, connect to your Mac and copy away, import into iTunes.
If the music is not copy protected or rentals, then it should work in iTunes and on the Mac.

I can't find the tunes that came from my PC
Hello All,
In the PC ITUNES application I can see the dozens of songs I have on the PC and ITUNES shows them all. I can play them all on the PC. But when it comes to the IPHONE I cannot find them. The ITUNES APP just wants to sell me their songs. I want to play the ones on the PC. How is this done?
Thanks, BobTry using the ipod application, not the itunes application. The ipod application is orange, should be on the main application page on your iphone

How do I find the music I uploaded from a cd
Ever since I downloaded the update for itunes i can't find the music I uploaded from a cd...help
Backup drive?
Subscribe to iTunes Match?
If neither of the above and you don't have the CD and can't find your tracks on the computer then they you're stuck. A file recovery utility will cost $100, plus another $100 for an external drive to which to resue the files, and may not even work. You can buy a lot of CDs for $200. -
A lot of my music is on an external Hard Drive, currently "H" drive. When I try to play a song in the Library in Itunes I get the message that it can't find the music. Info says it's in a different location "G" Drive. But it's not. it's in "H" Drive. How do I tell it where to go?
What if you take this same topic of an external hard drive with music but instead of directly attached to the computer the music is on a Network Attached hard drive(NAS)? Will I be able to add music to my ipod without any problem? Step that up a notch, will the two computers on my network be able to recognize the music on the NAS? Will the two users be able to create their own playlists and update their ipods independently? Now step up that up one more notch, will I be able to do this with one PC running XP and my macbook with OS X?
Before I run out and buy a NAS I want to be certain. I also would like to convert my DVD library in the future and put it on the network available to an AppleTV or other UpNp media player in the future, because I love having power at my finger tips. -

Hello! I have one iTunes library on my iPod and one iTunes library on my computer. When I connect my iPod touch to my PC, however, I cannot find any files in my iPod except for pictures. How can I find the music files so I can add them to my iTunes?
You can't do that.
And before you decide to store any music that you own on a computer at work, talk to your IT department. Many organizations do not permit it for legal reasons. Standard policies are that anything stored on company owned computers is the property of the company. It could not be legally stored on their machines unless you transfer the licenses and all copies, physical and digital, to the company, meaning you no longer own the music. If they were to be audited and could not prove that they own the music, they would be subject to copyright violation penalties. Just use your iPod when you're at the office if you want to listen to music. -
Where can I find the music file I THINK I just downloaded from my Windows library to my ipad? Watched the progress unfold on my PC, but once is was completed, when I click on the music icon on the mini desktop, it does not pull up the file. Manual proved usleess. :{
I installed iTunes on my PC ( not a Mac )
I connected my mini to my computer with cord
I turned on my mini
I opened iTunes on my desktop
I clicked everywhere, but no prompts told me what to do this time!
Sorry, but I can't remember how hubby originally managed to make popup appear on my computer screen that allowed me to transfer music from my hard drive/desktop to my mini.
Calling the Apple store was fruitless....wading through interminable menu; put on hold; connecting to helper, then immediately being put on hold; finally disconnected.
Just want to know the first step after all of the above and I can PROBABLY take it from there.......... -

I can not STOP THE MUSIC that is currently playing.
I can not STOP THE MUSIC that is currently playing Looking for a music app or a way to let me stop the music that is playing. I have asked this over and over all over the internet and no one has an answer. I enjoy my music for a while but when it is time to STOP THE MUSIC I have found but one way - Turn off or power down the device. This is so annoying I have stopped playing and stopped purchasing any and all music of any type. If I can not find a way to do so I will remove all music from my devices until I may hear of how to STOP THE MUSIC. I have seen it is done on Android devices but no Apple devices. If there proves to never be a way to STOP THE MUSIC I will surely sell all 5 of my iPhones, iPads and iPad Minis and finally give up on Apple ever truly caring about their users.
Wwell, maybe it is just me. I have been using and have bought 7 Apple devices just over the past 3-5 years. Having supported, programmed, configured and taught college level courses for MS based and super computer hardware and software configurations for almost 20 years I am apparently ignorant of differential operations. Previously I had 5 choices on any hardware or software when playing anything like music, video, DVDs or anything similar. I had 'Play' 'Fast Forward' 'Fast Rewind' 'Pause' a n d 'STOP'. Perhaps Apple has found the STOP unnecessary but I thoro enjoyed knowing whatever I was playing had STOPped and could not continue unless I chose to go back to the program or equipment and chose any of the 5 choices except STOP again since I could not STOP a STOP. As I said perhaps I need to reconsider my choices and obvious ignorance. Thanks for all the help.

I can't find the music I purchased via iphone4 from itunes on my laptop
I am using the same account to log in that I use on my phone. The only thing I had was a download of the digital booklet. The music is on my phone still. I also can't find the music I purchased on my old phone a few months back. that is all lost. please help... thanks
If the music was purchased using iTunes on your iPhone you will need to transfer it from the iPhone to the laptop. When iTunes is up, and your iPhone is connected and showing under devices, right-click on the name of your iPhone, and select transfer purchases, all of the purchases will transfer to the laptop, but will still be on the iPhone.

I have an iPod classic, 30GB - I can no find the music I have synced
I bought another computer about 2 yrs ago. I have not been adding any new music to it, but I can not find the music I have synced with my iPod. I hesitate hooking up my iPod to the computer. Could I lose mu music?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks. JimIf you have signed into iTunes on the computer using a different Apple ID that was used to originally download the music, that's why it's not loading in iTunes.
On the computer with iTunes open go to the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Sign in with the Apple ID used for those purchases.
How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer -
I lost my iTunes library on my pc when the hard drive crashed. None of the data on the drive was recoverable and I did not have a backup either locally or on the cloud. Much of the music is from old vinyl and podcasts which are no longer available.
How can I get the music that resides on my ipod nano (4th generation) back onto the new hard drive on my pc.
I have been reluctant to install iTunes on the new hard drive out of fear that I will lose all the contents on the ipod if I try to synch to the new hard drive.
Help!No backup is a huge mistake.

Firefox 3.6.8. I can't find the tabs that I had open during several sessions, the last of which was in Dec 2010. I've looked at various Views under History>Show all history. Are my old tabs stored somewhere (maybe in the Profiles folder) where I can access them? Sorry, I know that this question has probably been asked many times in the forum, but I haven't found a solution yet.
This can be caused by anti-virus software/ real time scanners. Please try to disable the anti-virus software and try again. '''Do not forget to enable it after!'''

I need a receipt for OS Mountain Lion for my workplace. I can't find the email that's supposed to be sent automatically. Any suggestions ?
If you just purchased Mountain Lion, wait a couple of days. It sometimes takes that long for the receipt to arrive. Also check any anti-spam filters on your email application or email account to make sure that messages from Apple aren't being blocked.
If no receipt shows up within a couple of days, you can ask your company if a screen print of the order information from the Purchase History, which should be available through iTunes by viewing your account, would be sufficient. If not, you can contact Mac App Store Customer Service and ask if they can resend the receipt.
Regards.
