HT4796 Is it possible to migrate Exchanger Server mailboxes to an apple enviornment?

I would like to find out if it's possible to migrate Exchange 2007 Server Mailboxes to an Apple Environment. If the answer is yes, does anybody knows how this can be achieved? What tools and methods will be used and are there any requirements in terms of H/W, S/W, O/S, etc...

You could connect your old MacBook to your TV with an adapter cable and play directly from it as well as stream from shared libraries. Depending on how old your MacBook is, however, you may need to use a separate cable for audio and the video quality may not be as good as with an ATV.

I dont know your environment. Hope your Domain controller and Exchange environment is residing in same place. If it is different site, move FSMO roles to that site for installing purpose.
IT is really challenge and excitement .
Try to find the solution of client outlook connectivity,
I had this problem, after I install Cumulative update, this problem gone.
Login ECP console after install exchange server,
     Certificate installation,
    DNS pointing, port forward,
    Apply auto discover.
I faced another issue as well during the installation. My ex admin upgraded exchange server 2003 to 2007. He may not uninstall exchange server 2003 properly. Exchange server
2003 record was in active directory. Exchange 2013 doesnt suport mixed version of exchange 2003 and 2013. I have to delete the Exchange server 2003 record under DNS and Adsiedit. After that only exchange server 2013 allow to continue to install.

    Hello,
We have a Small Business Server 2003 server that we are trying to migrate to SBS 2011 using the out of the box migration process. After the install, the SBS console showed a couple installation issues - the big one turned out to be "Exchange Server

I should add that the source server's AD configuration might not be perfect due to this being the second attempt at a SBS 2011 migration install.
I'd be grateful for any help I can get on this as SBS migration has been plauged with multiple setbacks already. I really need to get this done! ;)
    Thanks,
    Voon

Thank you Larry and Al for your replies.
    I used the 'official' migration
    guide plus this page (http://www.techieshelp.com/step-by-step-guide-to-migrating-to-sbs-2011/)
as my migration references. The SBS migration prep tool gave no errors on the source server when I ran it.
I have a full system drive image plus a a system state backup from before migration. Though I am very loathed to rollback the migration and attempt a new one - again. I will do some searching to see if I can resolve the Exchange server problem and continue
the migration/installation. If not, then its a system state restore for me. One of Al's links had a resource for doing a thorough check of AD - which something I'd run if I have to another migration attempt.
I am also really tempted to open up a paid MS support ticket for them to help me fix this problem. :)

  • Can we possible to install exchange server 2010 on my server 2012 Operating system ?

I am planning to install Exchange server 2010 Sp3 . But in my operating system is Windows Server 2012 R2 . So i have to confirm is that possible or not ? Can anyone know please help me. Thanks in advance .

    Hi,
As all above saying, it is not supported to install Exchange server 2010 SP3 in Windows Server 2012 R2. Please refer to
    supported Operating Systems for
    Exchange server 2010:

Additionally, Windows Server 2012 R2 will be a supported operating system for Exchange Server 2013 with SP1 coming in early 2014. Let’s waiting for the release about it. For more information, please refer to:

  • Address Book Question (possible move from Exchange Server to Mac Server)

I currently run an Exchange Server. What I like the most about it is that no matter what I use to access my e-mail account, I have my calendar and contacts. Plus everything that I do from any method of access shows up in a different method of access.
So the question is, if I go to the Mac Server and run mail services with webmail, can I access my calendar, contacts, inbox, sent items, subfolders, etc. from my Mac laptop, and then also from a foreign machine that I use to access the webmail? If I went into webmail, would I have all my contacts available? My calendar? Could I check my sent items or subfolders?
Pointers to relevant documentation would be a plus.
    Thanks very much in advance.
    Jeff

you can piece most/all of it together... but it's certainly not as integrated the way exchange is...
If your main concern is sharing mail folders among several machines and with webmail, this is easy to handle with imap... you could share sent, inbox, etc.
Shared Address Books can be setup with LDAP.. it takes some work though and is a far cry from Exchange...
If you are a tinkerer and your staff can put-up with the tinkering, you could piece many of the features together... but if you are happy with, and use, the exchange features- I'd stick with it.

  • Best software for searching exchange server mailbox

    hi
We have exchange server 2013 in our company and we need some report like ( our client from one date how many email send or received or sending or received from/to who ) and also what is a subject of email and what is the body of mail ).plz help me how can
i manage this searching and how can create that report. or which software i can use for that.
My manager need some report ( like number of sending email or number of received email from all client or one client in exact day or between dome date or ... ).
    Thanks for your helping.

    Hi,
The following scripts can help you get the number of e-mails sent and received by one user.
    [Int] $intSent = $intRec = 0
    Get-TransportServer | Get-MessageTrackingLog -ResultSize Unlimited -Start “08/01/2013” -End “12/23/2014” -Sender "[email protected]"  | ? {$_.Source
    -eq "STOREDRIVER"} | ForEach { $intSent++ }
    Get-TransportServer | Get-MessageTrackingLog -ResultSize Unlimited -Start “08/01/2013” -End “12/23/2014” -Recipients "[email protected]" | ForEach {
    $intRec++ }
    Write-Host "E-mails sent:    ", $intSent
    Write-Host "E-mails received:", $intRec
To get total sent or received messages, you can look at the following scripts.
    https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/f2af711e-defd-476d-896e-8053aa964bc5
If you want to get the subject or body of mail, maybe you can use some scripts. I recommend you ask in the Script forum which is staffed by more experts specializing
in this kind of problems. Thanks for understanding.

  • Exchange Server Mailbox Migration

    Hi All,
I just migrated a 2.2 GB mailbox  with 50k item count from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2007 sp3. After migration the mailbox is 3.7 GB in size with 70k items.
Can anyone shed any light on this. there is no way the user got 20k mails during the move.
    Thanks

    Hi,
You can use the following command, it will display all columns.
    Get-MailboxFolderStatistics -Identity "[email protected]" | ft name,foldersize,*item*
Please check and find the folder, the size and item of this folder increase abnormally, as what S.Nithyanandham mentioned.
You can check the folders in Outlook and see what kind of items are added after migration.

  • Powershell command to migrate Exchange 2007 mailbox databases with a legacy name, & import them into a new 2007 instance, with a new name.

Hi All. I am currently at the later stage of provisioning a new CCR Exchange 2007 migration (to
virtualise old Exchange 2007 hardware) for 5,000 users & have a quick question.
I have created around 15 newly named storage groups, & have named 1 new DB per group, with the same name (let's say New-DB-1), residing within them.  The problem I have, is the old legacy DB's have different names (let's say Old-DB-1) & I need
to import them into the new storage groups, to match the new names. So far I can import/export between old & new OK if both old & new DB names\folders etc. names marry up perfectly, but are unable to if there not the same. Does anyone have any thoughts
on how best to tackle this, as this is one of the final hurdles stopping the migration? Many Thanks, John

    Hi All
    Many Thanks for the feedback.
The terminology 'migrate' was used based around the fact I will be decommissioning the old 2007 physical environment. This is after moving all DB's over to the new newly created Virtual environment that will host all roles.
The solution I ended up using yesterday, was the following:
    1) Dismounted the relevant named DB (NEWDB) in the new environment.
    2) I then ticked the 'This database can be overwritten by a restore option' box.
    3) Copied over the old named DB (OLDDB) to the same location, & overwrote using the new name (NEWDB).
    4) Re-mounted the (NEWDB).
    5) Ran the following 2 PowerShell commands:
     Get-mailbox –database OLDDB | move-mailbox –targetdatabase NEWDB -configurationonly:$true
     Get-MailboxDatabase NEWDB | ResetSearchIndex.ps1 -force
    6) Checked to make sure the clients were working ok, in the now the new (NEWDB) environment.
Rich: Many thanks for your PS script, which I will test with future DB moves & provide feedback

  • 3rd 2010 Exchange server Mailbox Role- other 2 server don't see mailboxes

    Hi
I have added a 3rd server in a Mailbox role only. the install when fine, the other 2 servers see the server, but don't see the mailbox databases on the new server. but the new server sees the new databases and the other server's databases. the other servers
read " copy status- Service down"
i'm thinking I have to something in AD...
    any ideas?
    thanks
    The Big Lug

    Hi,
Please run the get-mailboxdatabasecopystatus command on the three different MBX servers and check the output to see if there is any difference.
Did you deployed DAG in your environment? If so, I recommend you use the Test-ReplicationHealth command to check the result against this DAG. If not, please check if there is any relevant error event in the Event Viewer in the problematic Mailbox server.
    Best regards,

  • Migrate from Exchange Server 2010 sp3 to 2013 sp1

I have one Exchange Server 2010 SP3 server (300 mailboxes) installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 with three major roles on it (CAS, MB and HT) - typical installation. Edge Transport server is not installed thus for controlling of mail flow
Symantec Messaging Gateway Virtual Appliance is used as Smart Host. UM server is not installed either. I set up test domain environment where I installed one domain controller (Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) and one Exchange Server 2010 SP3 (Windows
Server 2008 R2 SP1) at first place and yesterday I did everything necessary to install Exchange Server 2013 SP1 on new test virtual server running Windows Server 2012 R2 which I successfully did.
Now in test domain I have two Exchange Servers (2010 SP3 and 2013 SP1). Is there any 100% reliable documentation with all actions that had to be taken in order to successfully migrate Exchange Server 2010 SP3 to 2013 SP1? I would want to know what
needs to be done not only for my scenario but also for other scenarios (DAG, CAS array, Edge, UM, multiple HT servers . . .) since I am interested in digging deep into Exchange Server 2013.

    Hi BoxiKG,
In addition to the above mentioned, and this for your reference:

  • CRM 5.0 and microsoft exchange server integration

    Hi,
I'm facing problem in setting up email integration in SAP CRM.
What I woul like to achieve is that an email sent to the call center should be see the email in this way:
    from: customer email
    to: [email protected]
The exchange server responsible says that it is not possible to do this but exchange has to change the "to" domain before sending the email and so the call center agent should see in the inbox an email like this:
    from: customer email
    to: [email protected]
    Is it right? Any hint?
    Can you help me?
    Thanks in advance.
    Roberto

    Hello Roberto,
E-Mail rerouting is possible with an Exchange server. We use an adress [email protected] provided from the Exchangeserver. The mail is then forwarded to [email protected] to be retrieved by our CRM System for further processing. Please ask your Exchange admin again. I think he has to get wome more information about configuration possibilities.
    Regards
    Gregor
