HT4799 I am having trouble connecting to Netflix since the last update

I need help.  I never had a problem connecting to Netflix with apple Tv until the last update in October, 2012.  Since then, it will not turn on.  I took it into the Genius Bar aat the Apple store.  They checked it on their ethernet and wifi and it worked perfectly.  They said it had to do with our network.  I don't know what I need to do here at home to make it work again.  Can someone help?

    I've found that the order of operations, so-to-speak, can be important when hooking up mini display port to HDMI.  I have the most success with the following operations in this order:
    1)  Plug HDMI cable into mini displayport adapter (the cable should not be plugged into either the TV or the computer at this point)
    2)  Plug the mini displayport end of your new super-cable to the computer.
    3)  Plug the HDMI end into your TV.
    4)  Switch inputs on your TV to the proper input.
    5)  If still nothing on the TV, try a different HDMI port on your TV.

  • Neither of my iPods will connect to iTunes.. iTunes recognizes that there's an iPod for each.. but that it can't open it in iTunes..  they were both connecting fine prior to the last update. went through the list of trouble shooting.

    Since the last update, I iTunes pops up with an error message when I connect both iPods.. the older Nano (4th or 5th generation) will show up as a dirve on Windoes.. but the new Nano (the latest generation) will show up as a dirve until the error message pops up on itunes.. then it dissapearsll.. and both get the same error message..  that itunes detects an ipod, but it can not be identified properly.. it suggest I unplug and replug. (done that several times) or the uninstall and reinstall iTunes (won't work either) .. and the trouble shooting isn't changing anything.
    They both worked fine before the last update

    Please post a copy of the latest crash report.
    Go to your Applications Folder and open your Utilities Folder. Open the application Console.
    In the left-hand column, click on Crash Reporter.
    Click on the small triangle under Crash Reporter in the l/h column and they will all be listed.
    Scroll down to the latest Safari report and click on it.
    Now click on the r/h column (which now only shows THAT crash report and then Command-a to copy it all.
    Come back here and Command-v it to post it here!

    Most Safari problems are due to unsupported plug-ins, add-ons, custom toolbars, or "input manager" software, some of which you may not know you have acquired.
    You best bet is to ask in the Safari forums:

    Save a crash report and post it in that forum. People there are amazing at decoding those reports and finding the culprits,

    After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error with Safari. You may want to consider resetting your device, which is different from restarting. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
    Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    How to restart
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    How to reset
    You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
    To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

    Ok, I am having literally identical issues with Marathon Max.
    I try to connect, and it says, "Itunes could not connect to the itunes store, Make sure your network connection is active and try again." I have contacted my ISP, and they ran a full check, and sayed I should be able to connect to pretty much all websites. I did the whole "ipconfig" thing and that was no help. I also tried the "msconfig" thing, and it sayed it did not recognize it as any kind of command, internal or external command or operable program or batch file. Whats strange is I can connect from another computer just fine, but when offered to upgrade itunes I declined for fear of the same thing happpening. I am tempted to just upgrade it and thus demonstrate that itunes has a flaw in their upgrade. I will save this computers diagnostics, and the other one's too, before and after the upgrade. I look forward to sending more feedback regarding this matter

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

    Ensure that other devices are not trying to stream to the same Apple TV at the same time.

    The 'Winmail.dat' problem has been extensively covered in these forums, I would search for that (a Google search works well) and unfortunately I have not seen the pdf print problem before, but assuming the software is current and functions normally (other than the pdf print problem) I have no suggestion other than the obvious (but time consuming) re-installation of Office.

    Since the last update 10.6.8, my MacBookPro mid 2010 randomly loses the connection with my wifi AppleTV2 2. It works well with the connection between myPC and filiaire AppleTV2 els and between my iPhone 2 (3G and 4) and AppleTV2 butpoorly between the MacBookPro and AppleTV2.
    Then I must quit and restart iTunes every time to continue to read my films. I repairedmy permissions, I restore my 2 AppleTV2 but that do nothing. I concluded that it is a loss of wireless connection. I do not know exactly what to do ...

    Here's the problems I'm having with iPad 2 and iOS 5.1:
    Okay ... so, because I had less than a 1 Gig left (as reported by iTunes) on my 64Gig iPad, and the majority of the space was being used by "Photos" ... I decided to not keep my PC photos directory in sync with my iPad (Windows 7). So, in iTunes, I unchecked the option to sync computer photos to the iPad. I got the standard popup warning message that my iPad would not contain those albums after the next sync. I clicked OK and proceeded to sync expecting to have lots of space freed up.
    But weird things happened after syncing.
    (1) I still have all my photos on my iPad .... nothing disappeared at all. (And performed multiple syncs to try to force the change ... still nothing has been removed from my iPad.)
    (2) Somehow, I gained 20 Gigs of free space, as reported by both iTunes and my iPad as well.
    Anyone know what's going on here?
    I do have iMovie and another movie making app, Avid. Both of these contain projects that refer to photos in albums that were supposed to be removed after the sync ... but I can't imagine that would keep them there. Anyone have any ideas?
    I also installed the iPad app, iPhoto. I noticed that it build a directory listing and continuously want to update that listing from time to time.
    Would any of these things cause the iTunes photo sync changes to be ignored? And, how did I get free space to report back with an additional 19Gig or so, when there's no change at all.
    Unsure what's going on ...
