You can share the files via your iCloud account, if they are Pages or Numbers files. You can email them as attachments to the other person, or provide them on a flash drive so they can import them on their computer.
I would not try to copy the files direct from my computer to someone else's iPad.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
To do what you want, do not use Migration Assistant. You will damage OS X. Instead, you need to erase the hard drive, remove everything from your MacBook Pro and restore the Time Machine backup, so you will be upgrading to OS X Mountain Lion.
It is as simple as holding down Command and R keys while your computer is starting up. Then, connect the external drive with the Time Machine backup, choose the option to transfer a Time Machine backup and follow the steps in the display.
As you will lose everything you have in the MacBook Pro, you may want to make a backup of its files first.

If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer or with more than one library you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply. The content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different. You can directly access the content of the iPod and play it through iTunes and you can drag and drop whatever you want to the iPod from either library:

Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod

How can I share iBooks or Kindle books on my wife's iPad with my MacBook Pro?

I was told that I could share books purchased on my wife's IPad Mini (IOS 7.1) on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.9.4) in some way, but I can't see how to do it. I've tried logging out of my iBooks account, for example, on the Mac, and logging in to her account, which is what they said to do, but that doesn't work.

Syncing Issues between Ipad 2 and MacBook Pro

When we sync our ipad with our macbook pro we get over 100 errors for songs that won't sync to the ipad. These are all songs we have purchased on itunes or downloaded from cd's. Anyone encounter this before and have a suggestion on how to fix this?

The underlying issue here is that you have chosen to use POP3 rather than IMAP mail accounts. Only IMAP mailboxes are 'synchronized' by default: it is virtually impossible to synchronize POP3 mailbox content.

1) Many items greyed out in the menu bar, for well over 2 years, maybe more!
2) I Can't drag more than one piece of content from your iTunes library to any device (iPhone, iPad)
If you do it gets stuck for HOURS and HOURS in "Preparing To Update" and the little activity circle never completes, ever!!
I used to be able to drag over 1000 tunes, movies, etc. go have breakfast come back and it would all be on my device!!
Can't do it anymore, one song at a time, maybe an album at a time, or one movie, and that is it!!
If you do a 2nd item the other items stop loading and never continue!!
This is so BAD, I don't understand how they don't have this fixed yet!!
Please tell me I am not the only one!!
...and If I am tell me how to fix it!

There is no license required for iWeb. Just do a Wyodor suggested and you'll be ready to go. If you're running Lion however, consider the following:
In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.

You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

If you purchased Lion for your iMac, just log into the Mac App Store from your MacBook using the Apple ID under which you purchased Lion and go to the Purchases page. You will be able to download and install Lion there.

The only place you get get Lion is from the Mac App Store. If you found some other site, that was an illegal copy and almost certainly tied to someone else's Apple ID and hence unusable by you. If the link was just to the Mac App Store, see above.
As to the problem with synchronization to iCloud, that's not a 10.6 question, so I'd suggest you take up that specific issue in either the Lion or iCloud forums, providing full details, and someone there can probably help you sort things out.

How to transfer songs from an iPad onto a MacBook Pro?

So I recently purchased a MacBook Pro. Before that though, I had a windows laptop and an iPad mini. The iPad mini was synced to the windows laptop, which broke. I then set up an iTunes account for my Mac with the same apple ID as I'd previously used, and made purchases on the iTunes Store on my Mac.
Basically, I am now stuck with my songs which I had on my iPad before purchasing the Mac which I cannot get onto my Mac and I am stuck with purchases on my MacBook which I cannot transfer to my iPad. I have not synced my iPad to the library yet, although I have authorised the MacBook. Some of the songs on my iPad were not purchased on the iTunes Store either, but I do not want to lose them.
Any ideas on how to sync my iPad with my MacBook without losing anything?

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss. To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Media syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer. iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Connection ipad/iphone to macbook pro takes 30min (at least)!

my ipad air and iphone 5c (latest updated) do not connect to my macbook pro (os x 10.9.4 mavericks).
if i really really want to connect them i have to wait at least 30min!
