  • Can't launch Hyperion Configuration Tool

I am installing Hyperion Shared Services 9.2.1 in AIX 5.3
After SS installation, the installer asks about to launch the Configuration Utility to complete the installation, activation and configuration.
i am using Xterm in order to see a GUI for installation.
After installation, Configuratio Utility is not launched and normal AIX shell appears
I tried to start manually the configuration utility in HYPERION_HOME/common/config , using "configtool.sh" script but I got the following error:
    aton:/Hyperion/common/config # sudo ./configtool.sh -console
    Password: (password entered)
ERROR: /home/admin/.hyperion.aton does not exist or is not readable
    aton:/Hyperion/common/config #
I was looking the configtool.sh file and I could see that this is an error caused by the anormal termination of the script since sh execution can't find this:
    # This is the file that has our HYPERION_HOME definition
    DOT_HYPERION="${HOME}/.hyperion.${SHORT_HOSTNAME}"
    DOT_HYPERION_LC="${HOME}/.hyperion.${SHORT_HOSTNAME_LC}"

    if [ -r "${DOT_HYPERION}" ]; then
    HYPERION_HOME=`cat ${HOME}/.hyperion.${SHORT_HOSTNAME} | \

    else
echo "ERROR: ${DOT_HYPERION} does not exist or is not readable"
         exit 1

I appreciate your help if you can tell me what's is this error about, and how can I fix it.
    Thanks in advance

It seems your installation was not completely successfull. I'd suggest rerunning the installation.
In the home dir of the user running the installation you should find a file named .hyperion.$YOURSERVERNAME (so in your case user admin's home should have a file named .hyperion.aton)
    you can use
ls -al to list also the . files
Make sure the file exists in your home directory. It should have a content like mine:
    HYPERION_HOME=/opt/essbase9/common
    export HYPERION_HOME
In your case HYPERION_HOME should point to your hyperion home (/Hyperion/common i guess ???)
Anyway this should already be there, unless you installed the sw on a different account you are using now to configure...

  • Where does iPhone configuration utility store data?

Where does iPhone configuration utility store profiles and other data on the system? I know you can export the individual profiles to back them up, but I would like to just backup the entire iPhone Configuration Utility storage location.

Thanks for the reply. It helped me get more information on where to find it on the Mac. Here's the location for the Mac if anyone else needs the information:
Your home folder > Library > MobileDevice
There are folders in the "MobileDevice" folder that contain data for iPhone Configuration Utility (configuration profiles, device information, etc.)

  • HT4839 the  iPhone Configuration Utility 3.6/2.2 for Windows will not start up/load anymore.

    Hello.
the  iPhone Configuration Utility 3.6 for Windows will not start up/load anymore.
It worked fine at first, then I tried to start it up today and I got an error:
failed to create an ipc port access is denied
Now there is no message at all. Just wont launch.
I find NO support at Apple. I have seen about 20 other cries for help on these forums and no seems to have received any help for this. Does anyone know how to get this Utility working?
I am using Windows XP SP3
I have tried upgrdading to .NET 4 SP1 from .NET 3.5 SP1 and that didnt work so went back the other way and still no change.
I tried completely uninstalling and deleting all references in Regedit and reinstalling from the start about 4 times.
I tried completely uninstalling and then going back to an older version (2.2) and it doesn't work either.
Unfortunately there is no help on Apply that I can find and trying to find an -actual email support for Apple software or products is a joke- (man, nothing is more aggravating when you need product help and the provider hides or completely does away with any way to contact them for help ro sends you on an hour long search for it...)
I need to get this working as I am providing an easy iphone configure for my VPN service. Can anyone help?
    THanks!!

  • Where can I find the iPhone Web Configuration util for Windows?

    Hi,
Struggling at the moment with the iPhone Config Util v2 on Windows - I can't get our Exchange account settings to stick. I have previously used the web configuration and that worked everytime, but now I've lost my installation somewhere. Saying that, that was on v1/v2 iPhones.
Where can I download this older utility?
Is there an issue with the new configuration util and v3 phones? Does the new configuration work with self-signed certificates? Ours just seems to report authentication errors when trying to set the profile up.
    Any ideas?
    Neil

I just contacted Fedex and they advised that a MSDS is not required with shipments of iPhones to/from the US.

  • HT4839 iPhone configuration Utility No MMS Editing?

iPhone configuration Utility only gives me the option to change the APN name, username, password, and proxy server or port? i need to change the MMS settings for a configuration profile. Please Help?

I do not know why, but from what I've read there is no way to enter MMS settings in the iPhone Configuration Utility. There is a way to force the iPhone to show the MMS settings screen if your phone is unlocked and you have a SIM for a provider that your phone does not currently know the settings for. In that case, see

  • IPhone Configuration Utility fixes "Up to 7 Devices" PC Sync Issue?

Normally PC's can only sync up to 7 devices, whereas Macs can sync an unlimited number of devices.  For example, Datamation Systems created a product that allows a Mac to easily sync 49 iPads at once.   Unfortunately PC's seems to still be limited to 7.  I heard that Apple says the "iPhone Configuration Utility" can be used to overcome this "up to 7 devices" issue on PC's.  Can anyone confirm this?  And if this is true, can the same program be used to fix the issue for iPads as well?
    Thanks!

I have a Datamation 16 port charge/sync device and was able to use all 16 ports on a PC running Windows 7 in iTunes.
I heard the same thing before we purchased the 16 port device but have not had any limitation issues. We will be testing a 49 port sync only device soon and I'll let you know how it goes.

  • Reload with iPhone Configuration Utility

How can I reload an app on a iDevice via iPhone Configuration Utility, when I delete the app before, on the same device.

Get your iPhone Connected via WIFI
go to http://www.unlockit.co.nz (You will see an iPhone Formatted Website)
    Choose Create APN
    Choose United States
    Choose Straight talk
Choose Create APN below the Carrier
This will set the APN Data Settings for Straighttalk.
This does not jailbreak or hack your iPhone in anyway and the website is used successfully by tens of thousands of people users per day all over the world. It uses the Same method as the iPhone Configuration Utility but some people find the iCU quite hard to use (or they don't know the settings/where to put the settings)

  • Installing iPhone configuration utility

    Hello,
I'm new to the iPhone CU, so basically I'm looking for guidance on where to begin with the installation. I'll be deploying profiles to iPads/iPhones/iPod Touch and I don't know where to begin. Should this utility be installed on a server (snow leopard), or does it matter where it is installed? Once installed, how do I blow out the configurations to the devices? Is there any documentation (a pdf) online on how to proceed with the install?

Thanks, I have been going over that and it answers my questions concerning profiles. However, I still don't see anything about the installation of the utility, where it should be installed, specs. etc...

  • IPhone configuration utility for IOS 4

How can we use the new restrictions and features in IOS 4 to create iPhone XML profile ? Does iPhone configuration utility 2.2 can include new restrictions or is there a way do it by manually configuring the Apple.xml file?

I wonder about the same! Where is the Configuration Utility supporting all the promised new features like the Mobile Device Manamgent and Wireless App Distribution? And why is nobody else asking for these essential features for a real deep enterprise integration and lifecycle management?!?

  • IPhone Configuration Utility Error

I am receiving an error when trying to launch the iPhone Configuration Utility on a Windows machine. I get iPCU has encountered a user-defined breakpoint. I get it every time I launch it. This worked just fine before the update to iTunes 9.2.
No uninstalls or reinstalls seem to fix it. Any suggestions?

I managed to solve my problem, but I didn't manage to run iPCU. So, as I said, I managed to run it once, but not after that. So that first time I created a profile configurafion (for my college's wireless), but I had to restart my iPod software, and I the configuration installation on my iPod was lost. I recently found out that a configuration profile is an XML file, and I've searched my computer if maybe it didn't delete itself upon uninstallation of iPCU, and it didn't
So, what I did was upload it on a server, and typed the URL in my iPod, and it worked, it asked me to install the configuration
So, if anyone by any chance has already made a configuration profile on his iPCU, and he needs to install it again, but cannot run iPCU anymore, he can upload it somewhere and do what I did. If he needs a server, he can contact me, and I can upload it for him ([email protected])
The path of my configuration profile (Windows 7) was: C:\Users\Yourusername\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileDevice\Configuration Profiles
(You have to have "Show hidden files and folders" enabled)

  • Cannot turn off iMessage in IOS 5.1 with Iphone Configuration Utility 3.5

    Summary:
When phones are upgraded to the new iOS 5.1 and if they either have a iPhone Configuration Utility (IPCU) template already in stalled or if you install a new one there is no way to successfully turn off iMessage.  Used to work with iOS 5.0 by using IPCU and turning off 'Allow Facetime' and the end-user would no longer have facetime OR iMessage.  Do the same in the IPCU and apply it to a iOS 5.1 device and the iMessage will still work and FaceTime.  Take a 5.0 phone with the template already in stalled where iMessge and FaceTime do not work...then upgrade phone to iOS 5.1 and the iMessage comes back!
    Steps to Reproduce:
Create a template in (unsigned) in IPCU and turn off 'Allow FaceTime'.  Apply this template through the use of the IPCU to an iPhone with iOS 5.1.  iMessage will NOT be disabled.
    OR
Create a template in (unsigned) in IPCU and turn off 'Allow FaceTime'.  Apply this template through the use of the IPCU to an iPhone with iOS 5.0.  Then confirm iMessage is gone (not working or available) then upgrade teh iPhone to iOS 5.1 and you will see iMessage will NOT be disabled and is in proper working condition.
    Expected Results:
By turning off the 'Allow FaceTime' in the IPCU this will and has in the past disabled and removed the FaceTime and iMessage Apps.
    Actual Results:
By turning off the 'Allow FaceTime' feature in IPCU and loading it onto an iOS 5.1 iPhone the iMessge and FaceTime Apps still are there and work.
    Regression:
We have been able to test and get the same results on the iPhone 4 and 4S for iOS 5.0 (works as promised) and then once upgraded to iOS 5.1 (doesn't work as promised)
We have tried using IPCU 3.4 and 3.5 FYI.
    Anyone else see this issue?

This seems to be working for me now but will keep monitoring it the next couple of times I use it to make sure its not a one time thing

  • IPhone Configuration Utility Not Working

    Hi Guys,
I am getting the dreaded error:
"iPhone Configuration Utility failed to locate 'Apple Mobile Device Support'. Please re-install iPhone Configuration Utility."
Actions I have tried (in various combinations):
    - Reinstall iTunes (11)
    - Reinstall iPCU (3.6.1)
    - Copy various .dll files to iPCU directory (as per other suggestions, even though Im not getting a .dll error)
This is on a x86 machine running Windows Vista.
The devices I use get detected in iTunes just fine.
The error message I state above shows as soon as I launch iPCU. No prior error / No error after / No GUI loads - just the above error.
My guess, as per seeing past issues regarding iPCU is that iPCU is incompatible with my version of iTunes/AMDS.
Any trick on getting this working other than waiting for Apple to fix up iPCU? Im tired of reading hundereds of threads of 'solutions' that get me nowhere.
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi.
I found that most problems with IPCU startup is a some issue with DLLs and programs in the PATH environment variable. And I thinks it's Apple to blame how they load their DLLs. For me the two things prevented IPCU from working:
Some Intel software in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\iCLS Client". I don't know what is it, probably part of drivers or other Intel software on my PC (I have Intel chipset motherboard and Intel SSD). Affected DLL was msvcr90.dll located here.
    Zend Server in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Zend\ZendServer\bin". Affected DLLs were: libxml2.dll, iconv.dll .
I also see that it loads zlib1.dll from my "LUA for Windows" folder instead of its own but it seems that IPCU working with it.
So, basically problem occurs because either IPCU or Apple Mobile Device Support load wrong DLLs from some of PATH folders instead of their own folders and those DLLs are incompatible. I have located and narrowed it down by looking into list of loaded DLLs in Process Explorer while IPCU is running (showing its error message box), then checking DLLS that wasn't loaded from one of Windows or Apple folders, and after this  I cut folders from PATH variable one by one until it worked, then I returned most of them back except those that affected IPCU startup.

  • Iphone configuration utility for Windows XP doesn't work.

Getting message when I try to launch Iphone Configuration utility on WIndows XP Sp3 machine - IPCU.exe Procedure entry point not found.
The procedure entry point sqllite23_clear_bindings could not be located in the dll library sqlite3.dll.
Say ok to that and get also a message that Iphone configuration utility failed to locate Apple Mobile device support . Please reinstall, you can download Iphone configuration utility from http://blah blah blah.
I already tried 3.4 and that didn't work. Back rev'd to 3.3 and same error. Running Itunes 10.5 and IOS 5.0 on phone. Any ideas?
Getting ready to deploy about 25 of these and using MS Exchange 2007 as email and active sync. I was hoping to use the utility to help roll out security settings and such.

we noticed the exact same thing. We used IPCU 3.4 and the new feature of setting WiFi proxy which we are very interested in. From Windows, after installing the profile, there was no proxy info on the device UI. From the Mac, the proxy info is there and can be seen from the device UI but it does not work. These proxy settings, even though we can see them through the device UI, do not "stick". They have no effect. HTTP traffic still does not go through the proxy.
Using the Mac is fine as long as we can make the proxy settings "stick", otherwise we have to ask our users again to do them manually. Has anybody found a workaround or something?
