Hello, everyone! I need some help, okay so, my iPhone has been acting up lately, I am no longer receiving iMessages, it says it cannot connect to iTunes and YouTube, and I no longer receive push notifications from any of my apps. i figured it is because i need to update the iOS5 for my phone, but I'm not sure. To update the iOS5, i need to backup my phone, which i can't do because my iCloud is full, i was wondering how do you delete things from the iCloud? I have already went through and deleted a great number of pictures from my phone and also apps that i was no longer using. I don't want to lose anything from my phone, but i'm not sure if my iCloud has everything backed-up? Also, could that be the reason to why my phone has been acting up? or could something else be wrong? PLEASE HELP!

General advice on "slimming" down your device's storage:
You'd have to go into the various apps on a device that is also stored on iCloud and begin trimming files.

Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage; there, tap the device you need info on and the resulting screen lists Backup Options with which apps store data on iCloud. Turn off camera roll and any other apps that might have a lot of data. Then delete the backup. That will free up space. Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album) or using photo stream. If the song has been purchased from itunes store, you cannot delete the song from the cloud but you can hide it. - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919.
You do not need to subscribe itunes match which is a different product from itunes in the Cloud.

The only way you can do that is to import them into your library first, but you may have done that already.
The easiest way to tell is to select a photo from the photostream album in iPhoto and ctrl-click on it, if it gives you the option to import it isn't in your iPhoto library, if it offers you the option to show in library it has already been imorted.

Apologies Brandon, we have moved on somewhat from your original question.
What I have done is effectively used Michael's idea. I'll try to explain a little further.
You can run iTunes match on up to 5 computers, and you can edit the iCloud library on any of them. Michael's idea works on the basis that, whilst you can edit the iTunes library, you can't remove songs from other computers.
I have basically the same setup as you, but I also have a MacBook Air, which is running iTunes Match but without any music downloaded so it all streams.
I added the songs on my main library, which then added them to the cloud. When they appeared on my MacBook I deleted them straight away. As there was no local copy I was asked if I wanted to delete them from the cloud, and I said yes. When I went back to my main computer I found that, as expected, they were still there, but the iCloud status is "removed". They are therefore on my library but not in iCloud.
Since then I have run match updates a couple of times and there is no sign as yet that it will try to add them back to the cloud. It's too early to say that this is a definate answer to your problem, but it looks very hopeful.
Our other discussions have moved onto the 25,000 son limit, which I note from your comment you may also be interested in. Watch this space.
If you don't have access to a second computer to run the other library on then look back at Michael's post where he explains how to set it up on your main computer.

First go to Settings>iCloud on your device and confirm that everything is turned to Off, and that you are not syncing any data with iCloud before proceeding.
