Sorry for my ignorance but does anyone know how to use iCloud as virtual storage for music n photos that I don't want on almost full iPhone? I have an iPad too and don't mind if these items are on there. Thx!

You can't. It doesn't have an option that allows you to not have a copy of the data on your Mac. You can make the suggestion to Apple at https://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html

It can be used as a conduit for transferring the last 1000 photos between devices and your computer for 30 days.

We're an Apple household with two Apple-using parents and three Apple-using kids. We have two iPads, two iPod Touches, two iPhones and a MacBook Pro.
Up unti now, I have used all of the devices with the same Apple ID, except for my wife's iPhone and MacBook, which use a different account because I'd purchased a MobileMe account so that her address book and calendar would sync. My iPhone, on the other hand, belongs to my company and data is sync'ed using Exchange, but the AppleID is still mine, there are no special corproate controls, and the Apple ID and apps I purchase belong to me.
Should I simply migrate my wife to my AppleID, and use iCloud to sync her phone with the MacBook Pro, and leave everything else as-is? Then we will have a single AppleID for everything, and her Calendar and Address book will sync between her two devices, and FindMyiPhone will find everything with a single login? Are there any limits with using all of these iDevices on a single account?

You can cancel an annual iCloud storage upgrade but only within 15 days of buying:
You may be able to do this using http://expresslane.apple.com - click 'See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'iCloud', 'Account and setup' then 'This topic is not listed'. Explain the situation in the box provided and wait for a response - include a phone number. However you may find you cannot proceed without entering a hardware serial number which is still eligible for AppleCare.
In that event you will need to phone them directly, using the Apple Online Store number given at the bottom of this page. The first person you speak to may tell you to do it from the iCloud website but this is not possible. Politely insist on escalating the issue to a more senior person and eventually you should be able to get through to someone who can deal with this (you may have to wait for them to call you back) - you will be asked security questions and for part of your credit card number to identify yourself.
If it is more than 15 but less than 45 days you may be able to get a partial refund by the same method.
If it is more than 45 days since you purchased the storage you cannot cancel it for a refund; you can downgrade your plan as from your next renewal date.
If you have purchased storage under the new monthly plan you can cancel that as from the next month.

Okay, I THINK I managed to keep my plan as is for next year - but PLEASE tell me if I don't have it, because the steps needed too keep my current plan as is wasn't immediately apparent.
I have the 20GB $40/year plan.
In the Downgrade Options window, once you get there via iCloud Storage on your iPhone or iPad, you'll see your Current plan with two Downgrade options below.
Apple has "helpfully" checked "5GB Free" which would of course wipe out much of my stored data.
Click your CURRENT PLAN at the top - the checkmark will move. I THINK (I hope) that took care of it, because neither downgrade option is checked anymore.
Does anyone know for certain? It would be nice if Apple sent a helpful confirmation email after this procedure is done, but noooo.

How to use Icloud calendar and contacts with calendar server

Hi
I have a small network setup using a mountain lion server and a couple of mac mini's running snow leopard. In addition I have several iphones and ipads attached to the network.
I want to syn calendars and contacts accross all devices but dont want to use icloud for the private stuff. I have the basics working but can not get the general icloud contacts and appointments to sync on the mac mini's. Is there a way to sync this data or do I have to duplicate each appointment , one to icloud the other to the server address book and calendar.
I know that there is a way to sync snow leopard with icloud but I do not want all data on I could as some of it is sensative, so require to keep it internal.
Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure I have explained myself properly, I already have the server set up and have a local calendar and address book working.
The issue I am having is how to integrate it with the icloud address book and appointments.
for example,
I have an appointment at 10.30 with a client, I need to have this show up on all mobile devices and the local network mini's. As it stands I have to put it in twice, once in the icloud calendar and once in the local network calendar. I would like to be able just to add it once and it show on all clients.

I read on apples website that you can use Icloud using ethernet but how?? I downloaded the Icloud control panel and enabled photostreaming on my iphone 4s and have Windows Vista service pack 2. I'm not on a Windows machine, so I don't know how much help I can be, but I can tell you that it doesn't matter whether your computer is using Wi-Fi or ethernet. All that matters is that iCloud has access to the internet. The iPhone does need to be connected to Wi-Fi for Photo Stream to sync though; it won't work on the cell network.
Before we do any troubleshooting, follow the steps in this article to reset your Photo Stream, and see if it resolves the issue. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4890
It sounds like you've followed the correct setup process, but it doesn't hurt to check again. Restart your computer and do a soft reset on your iPhone by holding down the power and home buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Once both have restarted, make sure that you only have one iCloud account set up on each device, and that they are both configured with the same account. Ensure that Photo Stream is turned on for each device as well. For the iPhone, check under both the "iCloud" and the "Photos" tab. Next, click the "Options" button in iCloud Control Panel to make sure you have photos syncing to the correct folder. If the pictures are still not syncing, try placing an image in the "Uploads" folder on your computer to see if it will sync to iCloud. Also, be aware that Photo Stream will only sync pictures taken after it has been set up, so images you already had on your phone will not sync.
Try to provide some more information, such as any troubleshooting steps you have taken so far. Is anything else syncing between your computer and phone, such as calendars or bookmarks? Did you follow an online tutorial to set this up, or did you figure it out as you went along?

I thought there was an app for iCloud drive, like Dropbox - but there isn't
So my question is how do I open a document from iCloud Drive or save to it?
I am from Denmark, so I am a little unsure if iCloud drive is available for me.
When I open Pages or Keynote I do not get the Document Picker/File Manager we see on
the screenshots about iCloud Drive. So.... what am I missing?
I need a step-by-step guide or some screenshots

Are you trying to use @icloud.com to set up a new iTunes account? If so, I don't think that complete system has been rolled out yet. It will not likely be active until iOS 6 is made public. So as the system is telling you, you need to use @me.com for now.

This is my first try on one of these forums so please bear with me.
I recently got Pages for my Mac, iPhone and iPad. In settings on the iPad I had an option to use iCloud. When I switched this on, suddenly all my documents on my iPad showed up on my iPhone which was fantastic and helpful.
But I can't seem to make that work for Pages on my Mac. There doesn't seem to be an iCloud option.
Can somebody please suggest what I should do?

Until Apple updates the desktop versions of the iWork apps you have to use iCloud.com in a web browser or iTunes to sync files. You could also try e-mail or DropBox.
