Saw may web sites discussing this same issue; many discussions point to hardware problems but there is no official word from Apple about it, which is disapointing !?? Few discussions point to software problem with solutions based on try and error, and they don't seem to work.

The preinstalled apps, those that came as part of the iOS, cannot be deleted and will not shake or provide the black circle-X for deletion.
Others should do that if you touch and hold for a few seconds.
If they are not, do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if that appears.

I have the same issue. There are some suggestions to follow in the Apple support article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389 They didn't work for me but they may for you. My old iPhone 3S and iPad 2 syncs fine with iTunes.

Two choices: 1. Plug your 3G in, iTunes running, hit the restore button. Restore the phone as a new device. Eject when finished, do not sync. 2. Plug the phone into a wall outlet(can take several hours), then: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings.

Yes, upgrading is certainly an option, but you could also use the 8.5 Dng Converter to convert your Olympus OMD EM-1 camera raw files to dng copies, which then you would be able to open in photoshop cs5.
(i just wanted us to be sure of what version of photoshop and mac os you were using, so we could could the correct advice)

Iphone 3GS won't hold a charge, won't leave the recovery screen and the screen itself is very dim. Is there an easy way to fix this?

I left my phone out in the rain and it got wet, the water got inside the phone and you could visibly see water in the screen. Inside the phone the hardware was a little wet but not soaking. None of the water dectors have been tripped. I have to leave my iphone plugged in otherwise it won't turn on. When it is turned on I can barely see anything other than the recovery screen. There really is not a faster way to link the songs. You could get the info on the missing songs to see where they sit on your computer and just move the files there before. Then you can organize your library to move them in the iTunes library folder or another place of your choosing. To keep it form happening again, the article does have a section on what to do to keep it organized when new media is added.

Without knowing what was going to happen, I clicked on the backup from my iPod and then I lost everything I already had in my phone: mostly contacts and pictures. Although afraid of the answer, is there a solution to retrieving the info, especially the pictures?

by any chance did you do a back up to iCloud? if not there isn't a way to retrieve lost info with out a back up.

Recently my trackpad's left button will not click anymore, is there a way of fixing this?

My Magic Trackpad's left button is no longer clicking, but the one on the right works perfectly fine. I was just wondering whether there is a way of fixing this without it being sent of for repair?

The Magic Trackpad's physical left click is a switch in the leg on the trackpad. If it's stuck in or just won't compress anymore than it would have to be repaired.
You can use the "tap to click" option in System Preferences so in theory you wouldn't need the physical click.
