HT4847 iCloud storage and backup is full

I just received a message saying my iPhone storage is full and in order to open up some space I need to follow these instructions.
Go to settings, tap" iCloud" and then tap "storage and backup".
I have not upgraded my phone past 4.3 because of problems my husband experienced when he did, so I don't necessarily want to.
How do I get around it as these "tap" items are not on my phone to select.

If you have an email account (@me.com, @mac.com, or @icloud.com) then you have an icloud account. One thing to check is whether your emails is filling up all your storage. Log into icloud.com with a computer browser (assuming you do have an icloud account) and check what you have stored.
If you don't have your device connected to icloud, check Settings>General>Usage to see how much of the device's storage is being used up.

Note that Photos in your Camera Roll are also backed up to iCloud.
I have found most of the time, this is what is consuming a lot of the iCloud space.
You should regularly copy the photos from iPhone to computer.

Then delete from the Camera Roll
You can then sync only the photos you want, back to the iPhone, using iTunes.

The only thing I have selected, at this point, to be backed up are my contacts and the Find My iPhone app. Why does it always say I have no icloud storage available when I have ALL of the icloud storage available?!

It says that my next backup size is 7.3 GB, but I have no idea why, because the only thing selected is the Find iPhone app, which takes up 0.2 KB...How do I get rid of whatever it THINKS it's backing up?

ICloud / storage and backup issue

I currently have a 4S and have used 13.3 GB of storage on my iPhone. I am unable to backup to iCloud even though I have free space of 15 GB b/c it is indicating that I need another 8.7 GB of storage. I have no old backups taking up space on iCloud, so how do I resolve this issue so that I have enough space for OS 7.0?

In Storage and Backup page check these. How many available space you have in iCloud and tap on "Manage Storage" to see how many Storage it needs the next Backup.

According to the most answers that I have been searched here in iCloud ,I found out that iCloud didn't back up all the photos on my photos stream (which I couldnt restore them later -_-") but pictures will be keep in iCloud photos stream just for only 30days Then will be deleted forever. As I experienced updating iOS recently,my phone was cracked during upgrading and I have to restore everything in my iPhone as a default factory setting. once I backup my photos from iCloud,I got only photos that I clicked back-up manually since 2012 :"( and all my new photos were not appeared forever. In this case,that iCloud didn't keep those photos,why my iCloud storage is showing full?? Any idea...pls advice..

Your iCloud backup only includes photos (and videos) in your camera roll. It doesn't included any photo stream photos. You are correct that photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days. If you have photo stream photos that are not in your camera roll that you want included in your iCloud backup, you have to save them to your camera roll before performing the backup.

Sorry but I don't understand what you're asking here. If your question is why is your iCloud storage full, you can find out by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage to find out what is using your iCloud space.

ICloud storage and backup

I have a iPhone 5c 16gb and don't have much storage left. If I
delete my back up will I lose all of my information? If so, how will I be able
to get it back? Or is it even possible.
Here's a little back ground on my other issue, my HP laptop no longer
recognizes any Apple products USB so I'm unable to back up my data on my hard
drive. However the USB does recognize my old Android phone USB and
mouse....which is so strange. I've been trying to resolve this issue for months
and can't figure it out and neither can Apple. I have an appointment at with
the Genius bar but thinking its a waste of time. At first Apple was said it was
Norton Firewall but that not true because I purchased iPod touch in 2012 and at
one point was able to sync my music and pics with no problem. I've checked my
device drivers to see if there was an update need or a unknown device...no luck
with that.
My laptop is out of warranty so Microsoft won't assist me. Can you suggest
anything?

Settings>icloud>Storage&Backup, Tap "Manage Storage" - this lists file groups and amount of ram taken. In the list, tap "Show All" to get all the data. Also at the bottom you find email totals.
Also tap your device name to see how much storage is taken by backups.

What you can do is to delete them if you don't need them anymore. To do it, open Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage, choose one of your old phones and delete their backups

ICloud storage and camera roll

I have received a notification saying my iCloud is almost full, it shows my camera roll at 4.6GB so I went through and deleted around half of my photos and videos (I had around 1350 and now have 652) yet it still shows camera roll at 4.6GB, anyone know why this is?

Where are you looking for the Camera Roll storage? If you have deleted pictures from the device, you will see this in the next iCloud backup. If you want, open Settings > iCloud > Storage and Backup, and start a backup. This will remove the photos you deleted

To use iPhone storage, go to Settings>iCloud>Documents and Data and turn it on. For backup of your device, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup and turn on iCloud Backup. You can also upgrade your storage quota from 5GB here if you want!

Can't find the storage and backup link to start an icloud backup

Why is it that when you create an icloud account the Storage and Backup link isn't always there. I need to create an icloud account and then create an icloud backup right away so that I can setup multiple ipads using the icloud backup. How do I force an icloud backup?

You can check your Junk/Spam folders, sometimes the e-mail gets sent there. Also, double check that the primary e-mail address in your Apple ID account is hers. If none of this works, I suggest to wait it out, sometimes it can take up to 24 hours!

No, iOS does not do short term incremental back ups to iCloud such as you get with Time Capsule.It backs up when you do soo manually, or if set properly, when the device is plugged in and connected to WiFi. It will not have saved your changes as of 10 minutes prior.

Icloud, no "Storage and Backup" option

Got an iPhone running iOS 5.1
When i go to Settings->iCloud there is NO "Storage and Backup" option available so i can not take backups to iCloud.
How to enable this option?

First, try resetting your phone:
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
