HT4847 iCloud Storage still full even have emptied the Mail trash

Hi all.. I have problem with my iCloud Storage. I've deleted all the messages in Mail Application on iCloud.com and empty the trash also. But my iCloud storage still full, and the information from "Manage Storage", there are 4.2 GB data still on my Mail..
What should I do? please help..

Probably not. I have exactly the same problem. Had 2.1GB of Mail in storage. Deleted all mail from my Mail account.
Emptied trash.
No effect. still 2.1GB of Mail, which, together with 2.7 GB of other backups etc, means my iCloud storage is full.

  • Quitting Mail doesn't empty the mail trash

Running latest version of Yosemite.  Basically, I have the mailbox behaviors set to empty the trash when quitting mail.  Problem is, it never does.  I have to manually select empty trash every time.  Any way to fix this?
BTW, I have multiple mail accounts, all POP using the same server settings.

Tried that, mail still sitting in the trash.  Only way it seems to empty the trash is if I manually tell it to.  BTW, this happens on two different computers running the same OS.  Both computers have multiple mail accounts (i.e. multiple email accounts on the same mail server).

  • TS4009 My iCloud storage is full and I need to delete some stuff.  Can anyone tell me what is important to keep and what not?  I have done all I can but it still says I need to delete before I can back up on iCloud.

My iCloud storage is full and I need to delete some stuff.  Can anyone tell me what is important to keep and what not?  I'm just not sure what I really should back up each night and what doesn't really matter.  I know my photo's should back up, but other than that, I'm not really sure.
I have taken some pics off and videos and appt, but it still says I need to delete before I can back up on iCloud.  I'm starting to wonder if its a glitch with my personal phone.  Can anyone help me?
    Thanks!

Only you can decide what's critical to back up.  One option is to import your photos and videos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), then either delete them from your phone or exclude the camera roll from your backup in settings.
You might try going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll), then look at the size of your next backup.  If it doesn't go down significantly, something else is wrong.

  • I backed up then erased 118 gigs worth of photos, but my storage still says I'm full.  I emptied the trash and rebooted but my computer won't recognize the empty space.  What gives?

I backed up then erased 118 gigs worth of photos, but my storage still says I'm full.  I emptied the trash and rebooted, but my computer won't recognize the empty space.  What gives?  I erased all my iPhoto pictures from the pictures folder in Finder so I could restore a backup from my Time Capsule.  When I try to restore the library, I get a message that there's not enough room on my computer to restore.  I have a Macbook Pro with 250 gig hard drive.  I would greatly appreciate some help.  Thanks!

If you're trying to add a large amount of data all at once, and you get an alert of insufficient space, then from the menu bar, select
               ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Time Machine
If the padlock icon is closed, click it to unlock the settings and authenticate. Turn Time Machine OFF, then back ON and close the preference pane. Restart the computer. Test.

  • TS1324 I have synced my Ipad and Iphone and my Icloud storage is full now, I want to unsync so I can use both of their Icloud storages separately, how can I do that?!!

I have synced my Ipad and Iphone and my Icloud storage is full now, I want to unsync them so I can use both of their Icloud storages separately, how can I do that?!!

Your iCloud storage is linked to your Apple ID, you can't unlink the devices unless you use separate Apple ID's for each device. That's not a good idea as you will have to pay for the same purchases twice on each device and you don't want to do that.
Backup with iTunes where the size of you backup is only limited by the a amount of available space that you have on your computer, buy more storage in iCloud, or .... and this makes no sense either but it is a possibility ... remove one of the devices from iCloud and backup one in iTunes. If you are going to backup with iTunes, backup both devices with iTunes and leave iCloud alone.
You don't need to backup with iCloud if you backup with iTunes and you can still download your past purchases without having to actually use iCloud for backups.

  • I can't download any more on my ipad due to my icloud storage being full.  The ipad came with the icloud free storage but now it seems that i have to pay for more storage on icloud.  Do i have to?  What if i dont want icloud?

The ipad is my son's so he doesn't really need the icloud as he only uses his ipad to play apps.  The ipad seems to have a lot of unused capacity but it won't let him download any more apps without paying for additional icloud storage.  Do we have to use icloud or can we just use the ipad without icloud and keep downloading apps until the ipad capacity is full?

Should be able to. I dont' use iCloud and I have no issue downloading apps.
you may need to be patient though, from what some have said, it may be that the app store is a bit swamped and busy with all the new iPad owners.

  • My phone keeps saying "storage almost full" I have 6GB available of phone storage and 4.5GB available of iCloud. Can anyone help me?

My phone keeps saying "storage almost full" I have 6GB available of phone storage and 4.5GB available of iCloud. Can anyone help me? I obviously have space but I don't know whats going on...

The taking of photos requires storage capacity on the phone itself. iCloud storage has nothing to do with picture taking, that is backup storage area. You will have to remove content from the phone to increase storage on the phone to be able to take photos.

  • HT4847 i want to keep and continue the amount of iCloud storage that I currently have

i want to keep and continue the amount of iCloud storage that I currently have.  How do I extend my current iCloud service beyond the expiration date?

Are you an ex-MobileMe subscriber who has the complimentary extra storage? If so this will downgrade to the free storage level at the end of next September, and if you want to keep the storage you will need to cancel the downgrade and pay for the additional storage. Note that if you purchase additional storage before next September it will cancel the complimentary storage immediately. Please see
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5527
If you are not an ex-MobileMe subscriber then as said above you need do nothing except make sure you have a valid credit card registered.

  • Upgraded iCloud storage already "full"?

    Hi,
I recently attempted to load all my old DVD-archived photos into my Mac Mini. This auto-populated my iPhoto library. I figured that this also would (and did) eatup my iCloud storage space - So I upgraded to the 50GB/year option. (and have gotten the email confirmation of the upgrade)
I've had trouble turning on the photo sync function on my mini since then, I figured due to the massive amount of image date that was being uploaded/downloaded to and from iCloud.
I followed online support instructions to reset photostream: turn off the photostream function in each of may OSX and iOS5 devices, and reset the Photo stream from the iCloud website.
I now have an empty photo stream and still an almost full iCloud (48GB/50GB)!
    1. Is this iCloud usage accurate (are the servers down? does it take a while to update?")
    2. Is there any way to refresh the actual usage?
I've already deleted practically everything on iCloud using the system prefrences on my OSX devices - but still no change in the space consumption; I would love to keep the 50GB, but if there is some error on the consumption status, I'm tempted to downgrade
would appreciate any input or suggestions!
    thanks
    Migs

Mine updates when I choose 'show all' and then choose iCloud again. Photo Stream doesn't count towards your storage used. Are you sure you aren't reading it as using 48 GB, when actually it's telling you you have 48 GB left.

  • HT4847 ICloud Storage Warning

I am confused. I checked my systems preferences and I have 24.26GB of 25GB available.
Yet I got a warning message that my ICloud storage is full.
What the heck does this email mean?

    Thanks for this reassurance.
I just got three e-mails in a row telling me 1. My icloud storage was almost followed by 2. My icloud storage is full I will no longer recieve e-mail.
Checked I can still send e-mail to my icloud account (few), and my account is a 25 GB account and reporting over 10 GB free.
I note that if you add in my photostream (about 10 GB) then I would be right on that limit, and wonder if there is a bug in the system that every now and then alerts users because their total usage is near the size limit.
As long as it is only an alert I am ok - if it actually does start rejecting mail, then it will be time for me to move on, which is sad since it has been really reliable for me to date.

  • TS3276 iCloud Storage is Full

I began receiving emails a few days ago that my iCloud Storage was close to full and today I received a message that my iCloud Storage was FULL and I would no longer be able to send or receive emails on any cloud devices. I now know that those attempting to send me emails are receiving a delivery failure notice with the phrase "over quota".
I have purchased additional iCloud Storage capacity about an hour ago, but the same error message continues to appear on the sender's email when they attempt to send me an email. Does it take some time for a new purchase of storage to take effect or is there something else going on here?
    Thanks for your replys.

iCloud does not delete your mail when full, you have some other problem.

  • HT4847 iCloud Storage Plans

Even though I have purchased 55GB iCloud storage plan and I have stored more than 13 GB on it, recently I  can not store any more with a message stating that I have exceeded my free storage plan of 5GB!! My 50 GB storage plan is valid till April 2013.

If System Preferences>iCloud shows you as having the expected amount of usage you can just ignore the email. A lot of people have received similar ones when there isn't in fact an issue.
