HT4847 Lost my storage icon

Question

I used to have a storage icon (icloud) on my desktop. When i change my OS from Lion to Snow Leopard, it was gone. Did I lost my files?

If you had 'iDisk Syncing' enabled when you were a MobileMe subscriber the icon for the 'local copy' would have continued to appear on your Desktop and you could copy files in and out of it even though of course it wouldn't sync to the server. A major upheaval such as a new System would unmount it.
If this was the case you may able to find the 'sparseimage' disk image which formed the local copy: it would be ins (user)/Library/FilesSync and then a sub-folder. If you are able to open that - people have reported varying degrees of success with it - you should be able to retrieve your files. You should copy them all out and not use this as storage in future.
It's far from clear what system you are using (please keep your signature up to date): if you are on Lion or Mountain Lion Apple have hidden the user’s Library folder to casual viewers, in an attempt to stop new Mac users messing their machines up. To access it, in the Finder go to the ‘Go’ menu and hold down the Option (Alt) key; the Library folder will appear as a choice.
