HT4847 Where can I go to see all my pictures and music in my icloud?
I find icloud to be very unorganized and difficult to use - maybe i'm just unaware how to use it - in a perfect world there would be a page that i could go to that has EVERTHING that is in my cloud very clearly labeled - MUSIC, PIX, DOCS, CALENDERS, ETC - why can't it be this simple???

Well, the obvious advice is to restore your mac's backup to the new drive - I assume you've been using Time Machine.
If you haven't been backing up the mac, then ...
For photos, sync the iphone to the mac vis iTunes/USB and get the photos back into iPhone on the mac. Getting back the itunes is another problem. You can look for mac apps that read an iOS device and copy songs to the mac. But that won't get back all the other information that iTunes used to have. Again, only a backup would restore all that data. As for purchased items from the iTunes store, use the mac and connect to the store via itunes and check the purchased tab or link. There you can redownload all purchased music and other items. -
Hi! I just bought a new iPhone and I was wondering how i can make sure all my pictures and music will be transfered from my old iPhone to my new one?
Pictures are held in the iPhone backup. If you backup the old device just prior to the activation of the new one, then restore from that backup, the photos will be there. Music is in iTunes on the computer and when you do the restore, it will download the music from iTunes to the device during the restore. Make sure any music purchased on the iPhone that has not been transfered to iTunes on the computer is done before beginning the restore.

my pc crashed and i lost all my pictures and music that was stored on the pc. now i have a new pc and when i log into itunes all my music and photos are not available. I guess i dont understand the pupose of itunes and its worth. I thought it backed up all my photos and music, but apparently not. Your content will only be where you put it. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Device>Transfer purchases.
You can import your pics taken with the iphone as you would with any digital camera.
You can e-mail the other pics to yourself, they will never be of the original quality.
You can out a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. You should get the option to merge the data when you sync. -
My husband(less technologically inclined than I am), decided to delete programs from our iMac, he turned it off and now it has a grey screen and won't get past it. It won't start in safe mode and when I If I insert the Application Install DVD, to repair the disk, will I loose all my pictures and music?
With a corrupt disk, the install procedure is most likely going to fail.
How old it the disk?
You might be able to reformat it to fix the problem. Of course that means you lose all of your data.
The other alternative is to get a new disk drive and put that in your Mac and install OS X
Then put the old disk drive in an enclosure and see what can be recovered from it.

I have saved a FB-site and can not any longer see all the pictures on that saved site. What to do?
I do not have FB myself but a friend saved some FB-sites for me with text and pictures.
At first I could not see all the pictures. Then my friend told me to download Mozilla Firefox and I also noticed that I had to be online to see all the pictures. Otherwise I could only see a few of them.

Please note that as the file is permanently saved in your PC, and if the picture/content location changes, or is deleted on the site then you may not be able to access it.

Can I leave Powerbook on all the time and music pauses when disc ejects.
I have had an imac at home for the last 4 years and always left it asleep when not using it so I could acces my itunes quickly. I have just upgraded to a Pbook G4 17" and am concerned now that I may not be able to leave it on. I read Apples guide to battery use and they say not to leave it plugged in all the time. I thought this was a machine that could be used all the time? Am i safe to leave it plugged in asleep through the day and night with say 3 to 4 hours use in the evening?
Also, when listening to itunes and i eject a disc the music pauses for a moment. I use a G5 at work and my old imac never did this. Someone I work with has the same Pbook but 15" and hers doesnt pause.
Can any one help with these 2 issues? Love my Pbook but these couple of things are taking the shine off it. Thanks for an informative forum.It is OK to leave your PowerBook on (plugged in) but remember to use your battery once in a while. Lithium-based batteries have to be used. Fully discharging and recharging the battery every two weeks should be OK.
An alternative is removing your battery with a 50% charge. Apple suggests this if you don’t plan on using your battery for more than six months. -
My media card erased all my pictures and music. Helllppp !!!!

My Old IMac G5 kaput, its ON or seems to be ON but its black screen can't do anything, though all my pictures and files are there. I want my photos and my itunes library Can't seem to get them. ( I have not been able to share them to my phone or lap top anymore ever since my G5 flipped ) I got a Macbook and got it connected to the Time machine. Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
No data will be lost. -

Ok, normally you would use Apple's Migration Assistant to move all your data from your old computer to your new one but if you don't have access to it, and all your data is only on your phone, you'll have to follow this guide to transfer the data to your iTunes library: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive.
You will read in this guide that iTunes will not transfer music from your phone to your iTunes library if it wasn't purchased from the iTunes store, and that you will have to use 3rd party software such as PhoneView to transfer it. Also, you can only import photos to your computer that are in your camera roll (by following this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083). If you have photos in other albums such as photo library or photo stream, you will have to use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your computer. You will need to transfer this data to your computer first.
After transferring your non-purchased music and non-camera roll photos to your computer, follow the steps in the linked guide above exactly as written, being careful to begin by disabling automatic syncing in iTunes, and being sure that you enter at least one contact and on calendar event on your computer, and authorizing your computer for all Apple IDs used to purchase your apps, music and other media (in iTunes>Store>Authorize this Computer) before syncing.
Your other option is to wait until you have access to the computer you last synced with, and then use Migration Assistant to copy your entire iTunes folder and other data to your new computer, as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4889.
