HT4858 Photos taken on my iPhone5c are no longer coming to my windows PC via My Photo Stream

I recently realized that photos taken on my iPhone5c are no longer coming to my windows7 PC via My Photo Stream.

There's a long discussion on this issue here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5356710?start=180&tstart=0.  You might find a solution that works for you.

I have a late 2009 iMac, with the default Nvidia 9400 Graphics card.
I was wondering what my options are for upgrading.  I use Windows 7 via Bootcamp, so I need a card that is compatible/has available drivers.
This is for gaming. On the lowest settings of "Call of Duty 4", I get about 100 FPS... Was hoping to be able to play on higher resolution w/o the fps lag.
I'm not good with the hardware part of computers at all, but know how to get around the OS.

In most cases the graphics cards in iMacs are Not upgradeable.  They are usually soldered to the logic board.  RAM is considered, along with harddrives, the only component that is upgradeable in an iMac, unlike in PC's.  So basically you would need to sell your unit and purchase an iMac with a more powerful graphics card.
    Hope this helps

  • HT4858 Photo stream limit

My photo stream auto deletes old photos after a 1,000 limit, but it says here that it is suppose to be 10,000. Is there somewhere to change the settings?

Read this Apple Support official write up about iCloud  photo streams at the URL below...
Basically, you can have 1000 photos in EACH photo stream  !... and you can create up to 100 shared photo streams, in addition to the 1 default non-sharable photo stream they give you titled "My Photo Stream".
So really, you can store up to 101,000 photos , for free, in icloud.
As long as you never add more than 1000 photos in any one stream you will never lose any photos. They will always be stored for free in icloud, and you can always access them any time, either from a mac/pc browser or ios device (iphone/ipod/ipad).
If.... you do add more than 1000 photos to a photo stream, icloud only keeps the most recent 1000 and begins deleting the oldest photos in the stream to make room for new ones.... always keeping a 1000 cap on each photo stream.
So.... there are 3 things to remember if you never want to lose any photos and never have to keep your own physical backup :
    1. Always move photos out of your  "My Photo Stream" into shared photo streams (which you actually don't have to share with anyone if you don't want to), before it reaches 1000.
    2. Never put more than 1000 photos in a shared photo stream.
    3. If you ever get to the maximum 100 shared photo streams and have filled each of those 100 photo streams with 1000 photos AND you have your "My Photo Stream" filled up with 1000 photos.....then you have reached the 101,000 max for free icloud photo storage.   At that point you can either delete old photos to make room for new ones.... or begin emailing photos to yourself and start using your email as a cloud based archive for your photos, and delete from photo streams after you have emailed yourself a copy (if you really want to stay away from getting involved with yet another cloud service product outside of Apple iCloud)
The likely reality is.... by the time you get anywhere close to the 101,000 limit....Apple will have already evolved the photo stream service to something we cannot yet imagine that will make the worry of hitting the 101,000 cap a mute thought anyway :)

  • HT4858 photo stream limit reached

We recently moved our iPhoto library to a different Mac (old one's hard drive failed and it was time for it to go), and ever since then, our IOS devices say Photo Stream reached and we can't do anything on the devices (3 iphone 5's; 2 Ipad 3's and 1 Ipad mini).  I had to shut down each device and turn off photo strea to be able to use the devices, so now I can's use photo stream, which is a bummer.  Any ideas?

Did you enable this checkbox in iPhoto's Photo Stream  preference pane?
If you did that your iPhoto library uploaded the maximum photos that can be added to the PS.
Uncheck that box, go into Photo Stream in iPhoto, select those photos you don't want in the PS, Control (right)-click and choose Delete from Photo Stream.
That will drop you below the 1000 limit.  This Apple document discribes the limits of PS: iCloud: Photo Stream limits

  • Could a setting on Thunderbird have changed on Saturday A.M.? My emails from my server are no longer coming thru to my desktop. Help!

I've checked my server. I've checked my Internet connection. The only other culprit is Thunderbird. Has something changed? Do I need different settings? This is the same problem on two different accounts. And both stopped working at the same time. (Ironically, spam mail is still coming through but not my regular emails)

    # What version of Thunderbird are you using?
    # Are you using IMAP or POP?
    # Do you have any anti-virus software running? If so, try running with it disabled.
    # Try running without add-ons. Help -> Restart with add-ons disabled.
    # Can you access your mail with webmail / browser access?
    # Who is your email provider (gmail, yahoo, etc.)?

  • HT201317 Pictures are not transfering to my PC Photo Stream..?

My photo's are showing up on my iPod's Photo Stream, but are no longer trasfering to my Window's Photo Stream.. How do I get them to push to my PC??

Have you tried signing out, then back in again on the icloud control panel on your pc? Also resetting the photostream may help. You need to log into icloud.com, click on your user name in the top right then go to advanced, the rest photostream. It won't delete any pics off your ipod or pc but it will delete any held on the apple servers.
Another thing is uninstall then reinstall icloud.
If these don't work then you probably need to start checking the permissions and settings on the pc.
My photostream only works if I sign out of tghe icloud control panel and sign back in. Even them it will only transfer the photos currently waiting to download in the cloud. If I take any more photos after the first batch have gone over I have to repeat this process again.
Also it may be worth checking that your uploads and shared photostreams are working. Mine are which makes the problem even stranger.

  • The shares are no longer visible

    Hi
Hope this mail finds you well.
i have an issue in my WD EX4, can you please provide a reason why the shares that contains the data are no longer visible on the dashboard or via windows explorer and finder.
This is the second time it happened.
    Thanks for your support
    Regards, Wassim

Have you performed a device reboot? Are shares gone in all local computers?

  • TS3989 Pictures that I have taken on my Iphone 4 are no longer syncing to my Photo stream on my Windows PC.  I have photo stream checked on my Iphone.  Any ideas?

Pictures that I have taken with my Iphone 4 are no longer syncing to my Photo Stream foleder on my PC.  I have Photo Stream checked on my phone? I worked yesterday.  Any ideas?

        •    Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
        •    Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
        •    Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

  • In the synchronized application photos taken with another camera are distorted, as well as those taken on the site for the iphone

Does the new IOS 8 and instagram only allow pictures taken with the phone? as I can still choose from those, just not the ones I upload/save.
I don't know about instagram, but apps, that not yet have been upgraded to iOS8 can only access the photos that appear in the "Recently Added" album, because there is no longer a Camera Roll.
As a work-around, try to create an album of the photos you want to share to instagram. For other apps this helped to make photos accesible.

  • HT5824 photos taken on my Iphone are not appearing in ICloud/IPhoto. ( to my knowledge, the settings are set for "share/upload"

Photos taken on my Iphone do not appear in ICloud. I've checked the settings but am unable to determine
what, if anything, I need to do inorder to syn the photos.
Technically, I need to review the settings on my Iphone and ICloud that will enable a seamless transfer of photos.
Additionally, I need to review the computer (microsoft)setting that enable a sync of photos with ICloud.

Everything is fine, because there is no web application for photos at the moment. These are the options to view your Photo Stream:
-On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, your photos will appear in the Photos app in the Photo Stream album.
-On your Mac, they appear in the Photo Stream view in iPhoto or Aperture.
-On a PC, your photos download to the Photo Stream download folder. By default, this folder is located at C:\Users\Apple\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream. You can change this location by visiting Photo Stream Options in the iCloud Control Panel for Windows.
-On Apple TV, your photos will appear in the Photo Stream view under Internet in the main Apple TV menu after you sign in with your iCloud account.

  • Photos taken on my iphone are white/blank?

I'm having trouble viewing the photos I've taken as well as my sister's Iphone.
What happens is the photo are there but there are white and are white on the photo stream but when you access the photos through instagram the photos can be viewed.
Why are these photos not appearing? What can be done to retrieve these photos. I have not tried to download these photos to pc yet.
I'd like to solve this issue before I do unless, dong so would correst this issue.

    Hi Yellowwone,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If photos taken with your iPhone appear blank or white, I'd recommend starting with the troubleshooting steps in the "Camera" section of this article:

  • HT201317 My photos taken from my iPhone are not appearing in my iCloud account

My photos taken from my iPhone are not appearing in my iCloud account home page. In fact there isn't even a photo icon on my iCloud homepage. In the settings section of my iphone, I have the Photo Stream turned to "on" within the iCloud setting so i'm not sure what the problem is. Any thoughts?

  • HT201317 Just got a 4S.  We've taken 1,000 photos which are in the camera roll.  Photo Stream has loaded the last half of the 477 pictures.   Not sure what happened to the first 523 pictures.  How do I request that these be uploaded again to Photo Stream?

I have a 4S and have taken 1,000 photos.  For some reason only the last half of them, 477 pictures, loaded to Photo Stream.  I think I turned off Photo Stream in attempting to set up iCloud.  How do I re-load the first set of 523 photos again to Phot Stream?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
It is not very easy at all to add photos to photo stream from your camera roll on your phone, the only way I'm aware that this can be achieved is to take a screenshot of each photo. It would be much simpler to sync your photos to a computer and add them to photo stream from there.
Photostream when enabled will only add photos from the camera roll that were taken post photostream activation.

  • Photos taken on iPhone are not showing up in my photo stream so not appearing on ipad

I took photos on my iPhone yesterday and tried to view on the ipad but did not show up and also are not in my photo stream. Tried turning wifi off and on and resetting the iPhone. Did not help. Any ideas.

Make sure ipad is signed in with same apple id in icloud.
Make sure photo stream is on, on both devices.
Make sure camera app is closed on iphone.
Turn off photo stream wait a minute, turn back on, on both devices.
    Powercycle both devices.
