i have plug my iphone on another computer and backed it up but was signed on with my friend apple ID so now all music, app etc which were on my iphone as been replace by his one how can i restore to its previous content knowing i cannot use the laptop anymore which is the one i used to backup mine with

From your backups. By doing a clean install you erased your startup volume. You may have installed OS X, but your personal software was erased. You can restore from backups if your have them. If not, then you've lost it all, permanently.

alrite. I have made my mistake. I should not jail break my iphone. So if I purchase my apps again from itunes is that mean mean my data will be back?

If you are referring to an iDevice, sign out of your new Apple ID and sign back in with your old one - they should all be there.

Thanks Carolyn. Unfortunately, this didn't work. It turned out to be in my display monitor as I have my computer wired to my tv for streaming. Once I changed the monitor display it worked fine. Go figure

I downloaded other apps in this new iphone and i think i did an error by syncing it with itunes as it seems that it doesn't have all the other apps i downloaded on the other iphone.

If you are backing up to your computer, check iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices, if there are nay other backups listed.
Since each backup replaces the old one if not used to restore from, your data might be lost since you seem to have backed up a phone without any personal data.
