HT4859 How can I see what I backed to iCloud or iTunes?
How can I see what is backed up to my iCloud? Pictures are what I am trying ti find.
Your photo stream photos will appear on your iPad in the my photo stream album; photos from the last 30 days will still be in iCloud but cannot be seen on icloud.com.
Camera roll photos are only in iCloud as part of your iCloud backup. However, you can't see them unless you restore the entire backup to your device.

HT4859 How can I see what in in my icloud backup?
Not all of my pictures were restored when reloading my iPad from a backup. Is there a way to see what was backed up to verify my pictures exist?
Many users have lost photos while preforming a restore from backup or upgrading the iOS. Recall, only photos in the camera roll are backed up to iCloud. There is a way to turn backups for camera roll on/off, perhaps these users had camera roll turned off.
See:
Settings>icloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage, tap the device's name and on the next screen, be sure Camera Roll is turned on.
IMPORTANT...
Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album) or using photo stream - and then moved into permanent albums for storage. If using Photo stream, but sure to move the received photos to a permanent album. If you have been doing that, then you can sync those photos back to your device.
If you haven't been saving photos except relying on iCloud to store them in a backup, then that is risky, as many users have discovered. I'm afraid I have no advice in this case - there is no "cure". -

iOS backups are not viewable, by design. If you backup using iTunes, to view the contents of your backup requires third-party software. iCloud backups are not viewable at all. This is what gets backed up:

1) how can I see what is on my icloud and how would I edit the data that is on it?
2) I am having problems with an app syncing data with pc - how can I fix that? It is mobile noter.Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can see what's in iCloud collectively at settings > iCloud > storage & back up > manage.... You can only edit the data through the appropriate app (contacts, calendars etc)
For problems with 3rd party apps, contact the developer. -

How can I see what is in my iCloud and maybe remove some from my iPad mini
You have to sign into your iCloud account at icloud.com from a computer to view your iCloud data. Also, be careful not to delete data from your phone that is being synced to iCloud or it will delete if from iCloud too. (For example, if you delete a contact from your phone with Settings>iCloud>Contacts set to On it will remove the contact from iCloud too.)

Hi Tizer2212,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The information in these articles may help with determining what is being stored in your iCloud account:

How can I see what's stored in iCloud?
So I'm new to Apple and I'm a bit confused. I just did a search for something on my new rMBP in Spotlight and a whole load of files that I have on my PC, my work PC and a memory stick I used with my MBP the other day appeared in Spotlight, despite the fact I never copied them onto my MBP or (knowingly) made any choice to add them to iCloud, but that's evidently where they are.
So how do I manage what gets put on iCloud? I don't want these particular files in iCloud or on my MBP as they are old backups of things I did on my PC that I don't need anymore.
TBH it's mainly an OCD thing on my part, but any help would be appreciated!iCloud only hosts your iCloud email, and syncs contacts, calendars, reminders, notes, safari bookmards and tabs, photo stream photos, and documentes and data from apps that are specifically designed to sync data with iCloud, such as iWork applications and TextEdit and Preview on your Mac. (You can see which ones are syncing data with iCloud by going to System Preferences>iCloud and clicking "Options" next to Documents & Data.) It isn't a cloud-based file storage service like DropBox, Skydrive, Box, etc.
Unless the files from your PC were in one of these categories and your PC was signed into your account and syncing with iCloud, the files didn't get to your Mac using iCloud. -
How can I see what is inside my iCloud?
My iCloud has more than 5GB and I know it is backing up info that I don't need....I'd like to keep it under 5GB. How can I tell it what to keep and what to trash w/out having to tell it to trash a whole category of info?

But I think it's just best to download what's on iCloud's backup to the Mac]
You cannot do this.
and set the iTunes to not save to iCloud (to the Mac instead) and not use iCloud (switch off in System Preference);
That option is in iTunes on yoru computer, not System preferences.
It is also on the iDevice in Settings > iCloud.
I clicked iTunes sync, did that back-up everything from iCloud to the Mac, btw?
No.
That backs up from your iDevice to iTunes.
Note that a backup does not backup everything.
You still need to sync the iDevice thru iTunes. -
How can I see what's on my iCloud?
I'm thinking of backing up on iTunes instead because I'm using up my storage, but I want to see the back-up before I delete it from iCloud. I also am concerned that it has a lot of aps that I downloaded for free and then deleted from my device because I didn't use them. Another possibility is that duplicate emails are being stored, which I'd love to get rid of.
You can't see the actual files included in the backup. You can only restore the backup to your device. The iCloud backup includes:
Photos and videos in your Camera Roll
Device settings
App data
Home screen and app organization
iMessage, text (SMS), and MMS messages
Ringtones
Visual Voicemail
When you restore the backup, it will also redownload your apps and other purchased media to your device. More details here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12519. -

How can I see what has been backed up
After doing a category BU to my WD Passport Ultra, how can I see what was backed up? The Smartware tells me that what I selected was done. But how and where can I confirm this? Thanksgrowlybear
Simplest way is to open the drive in Windows Explorer, then in the root you should find a folder WD Smartware.stor. Within that should be a folder for each device you've backed up, and within that a folder for each drive on that device that you've backed up. Within those drive folders you should find the files/folders that have been backed up from that particular drive. You can look through them in the same way that you look through the files/folders on your actual drive itself, and confirm that everything is there that you expect to be.

How can I see what is in iCloud ?
How can I see what is in my iCloud? ( This is so easy to do with Dropbox. )
Hello Ziatron,
Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to that question.
- You could see how much of your storage space is currently used by opening System Preferences > iCloud > Manage...
- If you want to see what files are currently stored in iCloud, I suggest to open the iCloud Drive app via a web browser at www.cloud.com.
Best regards,
