Apple has stolen my documents when i loaded the latest version of Numbers. I can see the documents underr icloud but cannot figure how to retrieve them and remove them. Can't understand why I should have to store my documents on someone else's computer.

You can't do that. The back up is only accessible to restore your replacement phone when it arrives. You can't access the back up in other ways.

If you backup with iTunes and you restored from the backup and the data are gone, then there is no where to retrieve them from unless you have another backup that contains those data.
Launch iTunes on the computer and go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices. You will see a window with all of your backups listed in it.
If you see a recent backup that you are certain contains the data that you need, recover deleted data from iPhone backup.
If your note is gone from iCloud.com there is only a few ways to possibly recover it.
The first things I would check is a iCloud Backup, a iTunes Backup, or a 3rd party email that may have contained the note. To restore from a iCloud or iTunes backup follow this link. This article explains how to restore a device from either back up.
Note if you have backed up since the note went missing, you will not have the note on the backup. Make sure you do not back up if trying to restore from a back up as this will back up the content without the note.
To get to the "Set up assistant" on an iOS device, you must go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings. Once the phone restarts, you will be at the "Set up Assistant"

i have backed up my iphone on itunes then i deleted some files from the phone then i wanted to restore from itunes to retrieve those files back i pressed the restore backup button the phone restarted to find that the itunes overwritten the old backup with a new backup and restored that new backup although the icloud backup is turned on to prevent the itunes from backing up automatically ,,,now i lost the old backup and the files and i dont have it on the icloud too ....so i rly need help guys to get those files back or the back up ..plzz help me ..thx

MY wifi upload speed is low so all icloud back ups is the 1st ones when the total size was like 700 megabytes or sth.... So i guess i rly lost the new files and nobody learn for free xD.....i think the reason of the overwritten back up is that when i chose to restore the backup maybe the i tunes asked me to make a new back up b4 restoring and i didnt pay attention ...or simply i forgot and made a new back up!!!....but i dunno how i can be asked if i wanna backup before i restore an old back up !! How can I restore a previous back up from iCloud? I recently restored my iphone ouas was having a few problems and although I backed up the phone beforehand I was unable to restore it back as it kept saying my pasword was incorrect. I changed my password and tried again but still got the same message.
I would appreciate any advice as I have lost all my passwords and information I stored in the notes section.

No, contacts are not part of an icloud backup. The only way to go back in time is if the contacts were also on a computer and you have been making backups to some external drive. E.g. on a mac, using Time Machine.

Set up the phone as a new phone, not from the backup. Go to Settings > General > Software Update, and perform the update. Then go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings to repeat the setup, and this time choose Restore from backup.

How to retrieve older backups

I recently got a new phone a couple of months ago the 5, I had the 4 before. On my 4 I had text messages saved. I downloaded an application on my Mac to see if I can retrieve any ealier messages sent before i got the 5. For some reason the app had my phone on loading for a long time so I unplugged it from the computer to see if it would go back to normal but it didn't. So the computer made me restore my phone. Well when I restored it none of the messages were there and I lost all the messages that were saved on my phone. I seen in my phone that I had several backups.... my phone backups up everday when I plug it in at night to charge. Is there a way that i can see all my backups and pick the one that goes back the farthest to get my messages back? Please help... i had some really memorable times on my texts. thanks

If you can't get it to work, some other options are:

All of these are for medium to advanced users. You might save yourself a lot of headaches by just backing up your phone to iCloud as it is now, then restoring the older backup to see what's on it. When you're done, restore back to your iCloud backup.
