What you are supposed to do is to maintain a backup of your iTunes library (and indeed any other data you care about) so that if something goes wrong with your computer and it needs to be repaired, or you decide to upgrade to a new computer, you can then restore those backup files to your new or repaired system.

Users in the US now have a ability to redownload previous purchases. Hopefully Apple will negotiate this right for the rest of the world as they roll out their iCloud service but right now your remaining option is to ask nicely (start with the Report a Problem link in your account history). There have been reports that, on occasion, iTunes Store staff will grant a second download of your previously purchased content, although they are not obliged to do so.

When i try to purchase or update it says "Your Apple ID has been disabled." I have contacted Apple 3 times and they told me to change my password each time and i told them i tried that, but it didn't work.They said they would try to fix it and they never contacted me after that. When I click on the iTunes ikon I get a box pop up which reads Problem with shortcut. The item iTunes.exe that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly.
My computer which is a packard bell vista operating system, recently stopped working as the power supply overheated and blew up and it has recently been sent back to the Know How team at PC world and it seems to be since it came back I now cannot open iTunes. I have also tried to search for iTunes in the search bar, I can see several files, but can't seem to open any of these either. I think that quicktime isn't working, either.
I have over 4000 songs in iTunes that I had recorded from my collectiong of CD's am going to loose all these now? Can anyone help, with very easy instructions as I really don't know what I am doing??
ThanksI would copy over the entire thing if you have room. With iTunes 10.4 though, you can download any previous iTunes purchases you have made in the past with your current iTunes account. While in iTunes, look at the left hand side of your screen and select "Purchases" and look at the bottom right corner of the screen and select "Download Previous Purchases". If you have an iPhone, iPod and/or iPad...you can do the same thing from each device. Nice new feature...just remember that those ripped CDs need a back-up!!! Enjoy...

Getting the error message:

I tried going into the control panel/programs /itunes and selected repair which didn't fix it. Any suggestions on restoring the broken shortcut without removing and re-installing the program?

Thank youI think it is some sort of permissions issue preventing the installer from updating the shortcuts. Is your account an administrator of the machine? If it is and you still have the problem then you may need to explicitly use the "Administrator" account for the install.

I just downloaded the latest itunes update 11.1 for windows 7 and now when I try to open itunes with the shortcut on my desktop I get this error message: "The item 'itunes.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly." I can't open itunes at all. Is there anything I can do or is there a problem with the new update?

Does that shortcut work?
If so, delete the current shortcut that is in the Quick Start tray and drag the one that is in Start > Programs down there. -

i tried to update my ipod but then it didnt work saying that an unknown error has occured, now itunes is not recognising that an ipod has been plugged in and the picture that comes up when you first get it (an arrow leading to the itunes sign) is on my screen, i dont know what to do?

This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. Do I pick set up as new phone? I dont know as the guy at the genius bar told me there would be an option asking if i want to sync itunes only...but there isn't.Set up as New and then... Re-Sync your Content from iTunes.

Having followed the instructions for "if you have never synced your device to itunes" and my computer displayed the message that the device has been restored, my phone is still saying its disabled and I should connect to itunes. What do I do now??

Purchase Orders - Updating Line Items After a Portion Has Been Received
Is there any way to make a line item editable on a purchase order if only a portion of it has been received?
Basically, our company will create a Purchase Order in SAP, which goes to our office in Hong Kong to arrange shipment. These Purchase orders will, many times, have multiple items listed at, let's say, 10,000 pieces each. Each of the items may ship on different dates due to our request for different dates or due to limited container space. So really...each item on the Purchase Order is like a "mini purchase order"... as I like to call it.
So, when we have a situation where only 5,000 of a specified item has been sent, we create a Goods Receipt for that amount...making that line item un-editable on the Purchase Order.
I would like for it to be editable so that I can add/change the the "Status Update" column I created (this is for our sales reps to be able to determine when product should be arriving).
The only solution I can think of is readjusting the quantities right when we know they will be split...so by the time they arrive (usually a month after they are shipped from Hong Kong), the quantities are already separated out in the system.
Only thing is, I have to be REALLY careful not to mess up the original order...or confuse things.
Any suggestions??There is a good reason that a line item will become non-editable on a purchase order if a portion of it has been received.
Do not fight with system. If possible, change the order to small one from the beginning. That would be much better.
