HT4859 iCloud backup problem

I cannot "slide to open" my ipad because the message "this ipad hasn't been backed up for two weeks will not let me continue. What do I do?

A reset should help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off button for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons and await restart.

HT1766 iCloud Backup Problem

I have an iCloud Backup that popped up on my ipad. Says this iPd hasn't been backed up in 3 weeks. Nackups happen when this iPad is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi. I have plugged it in to my Mac, it has Wi-Fi, but when I hit the OK button from this prompt, nothing happen.s

HT4859 icloud backup not working

I just got a 4S and have backed up my iPhone 4 today prior to swapping the Sim.
When I go to restore via icloud on the 4S it initially only brought up a back up from January and now says it cannot find any backup's?
Any ideas?

This may be caused by a corrupt existing backup that needs to be deleted, or by data on your phone that is preventing the backup. To troubleshoot these, try deleting your last backup (if you have one) by turning off iCloud Backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage, swipe across your backup and tap Delete, then go back and turn iCloud Backup back on again.
If it still won't back up, you may have an app that is preventing the backup from succeeding. To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again. If it succeeds, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is preventing the backup and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again. If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again. If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails. Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.

How do I re-instate iCloud backups? Last automatic back up was right before I left for Japan in June. Has not backed up since. Have followed instructions on-line with no fix.

ICloud backup problems

Ever since I downloaded the new iOS software I noticed my phone hadn't been backing up to iCloud. Last time it backed up was October 2nd. I have been doing the same thing I've done ever since I got a iCloud account. I keep the phone locked, plugged in, and connected to wi-fi.
I don't know what could be wrong.

You can also back up manually whenever your device is connected to the Internet over Wi-Fi by choosing Back Up Now from Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.

when i try to do back with iCloud it always says The last backup could not be completed. Please help me with this issue

Backup not successful: I had the same problem.
The solution was to turn off some apps (Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>manage Storage, tap your device in the Backups section, then look under Backup options) and try a manual backup. If it didn't work, turn off a few more apps and try a backup. Keep doing that until the backup works. Then try adding in some of the last batch of apps that were previously turned off - the objective is to find the app that causes the backup to fail. For me, I suspect that the one app I found had a bad data file that, when included in the backup, caused the backup to quit.
This can be a long process if you have a lot of apps that you originally turned on for backups.

ICloud backup problem

So the issue started with my previous phone, the 4S. It stopped backing up to iCloud, even though there were plenty of times when my phone was plugged in, connected to WiFi and the screen was locked. I couldn't figure out the issue and just backed up to my computer instead. Now that I've upgraded to the 6, I'm still having the same issue. I still get the stupid pop-up that says it hasn't been backed up to iCloud and tells me that it occurs when the phone is plugged in, screen locked and connected to WiFi. It's really starting to annoy me. I've tried doing the back up now option through my phone's iCloud settings and through my computer. Neither option works. Has anyone else come across this issue and been able to resolve it????

I have same problem. Regarding iCloud...all I understand so far is that it is used for backups and synching new purchases to other iOS devices/Macs. I would be more interested in being able to pick from a central list of my apps, music, books and pull them down when I want....does iCloud allow this? I don't see it in this interface?

I have an imac and would like to use a backup system to store itunes, pictures and documents. Can I do this on my icloud account? Or is an outside website better. Last time when my macbook pro crashed, I had problems with my external hard drive & retreiving eveything.

iCloud is not a backup system for your Mac, use Time Machine and an external drive.

I'm having exactly the same problem. I have a new iPad, my iCloud account is set up and verified (I wouldn't be logged in and writing this otherwise), auto backups are turned on, but it's never completed a backup. If I manually select 'Backup Now' in iCloud Settings, it times out while estimating time remaining. Strangely, today my iCloud free storage space went from 5G to 4.9G then back to 5G. Annoyingly, I'm now getting reminders that I've never backed it up! The iCloud help I followed from the forum didn't cover this error message.

I have backed up photos taken with my IPhone 4s (taken before signing on to ICloud and Photo Stream) after signing on to ICloud and Photo Stream on both my IPhone 4s and IPad. I cannot view the photos on my IPad - any ideas will be much appreciated.

Ideally, you would restore new ipad from old backup and once restore is done, during next backup new ipad will be recognized as your old one and from then updates will go to the same backup.

How do I restore from icloud now?
I have two ipads on icloud the new unit has not ask me to choose
which ipad backup to choose from but it added a new ipad to my icloud account so now I have three ipad backup on icloud.

Thanks fromsouth. It would be nice if there was an item for iMessages in the list of things to be backed up (on the iPhone, where it shows how much space each item takes up). I ended up deleting all of my iMessages, then deleting the iPhone backup on the account, re-enabling the backup, and now my backups are 670MB. Quite a big difference from 2.7GB.
I can't imagine my iMessages were really taking up that much space, but they must have been. At least now I know where the other 2GB or so was that I couldn't account for.

My phone received water damage and I bought a new one. However, I haven't backed it to iCloud in 30 weeks...My home button and lock button both do not work on my old phone. Is there a way to back it up to iCloud without locking it?

You're welcome. You can import your camera roll photos (and videos) to your computer using your USB cable, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. If you need to save photo stream photos too, save them to the camera roll so they can also be imported. To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos you want to save, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.
The backup you make to your computer using iTunes will also include your camera roll photos and videos.

You only see what backups you have for a device when trying to perform a restore. Whatever list of backups you get during a restore are the ones available to you. If you don't see the ones (dates) you want, they are not there.
