HT4859 Moving movies from Cloud to Laptop

I downloaded movies and TV shows to my laptop. Now I cannot access those shows because everything has been transferred to the Cloud Storage (without my prompting or opting for it). How do I get those items back on to my laptop's hard drive so that I may watch them (I have limited access to wi-fi most of the year)? Do I have go through the tedious process of downloading them all over again?  Thanks.

You need to set your library up as a primary library, have you done that. See This.

    Hello jscoz
If you are not able to go to the Purchased section in the iTunes Store and download the movie, then report the issue to the iTunes Store.

  • HT2729 iPad storage: moving movies from iPad to iCloud

I'm trying to purchase a movie from iTunes but I get a message that my storage is full on my ipad.  I have over 10GB on iCloud available, how do I move videos from my iPad to iCloud so ill have addionsl room to purchase more movies?

You don't have to move things to the cloud. If you delete the movie, you will be able to download it again for free. You are confusing backing up the iPad to iCloud with storage in iCloud. iCloud is for backups, not for storage like you would use an external drive or a thumb drive for.
You live in Australia, so as long as the movie is still in the iTunes Store, you can safely delete it and download it again for free whenever you want to watch it again.
One of the caveats of the PC free iOS devices is that while it isn't absolutely necessary to have a computer in order to use these devices, you do not get all of the fail safe features without having a computer where you can transfer content to be stored and it won't matter if the movie is pulled from the store in the future. As long as you have a computer running iTunes, you can transfer all of your paid content to the computer and never have to worry about the content being pulled from the stores.
This will show you what you can download again for free in your country,
iTunes in the Cloud, iTunes Match, and iTunes Radio availability
You can delete movies by tapping the edit button in the upper right corner of the videos app and the X to delete will appear on the movie icon.

  • How do I delete TV shows/movies from cloud?

I have run out of cloud storage, even after buying the maximum allowable storage from iTunes. My cloud is cluttered with old iTunes purchases that I am never going to use again, e.g., TV shows, movies, apps. Now when I want to sync an episode of a TV show to my iPad 3, 64 GB, I cannot because it says that I don't have enough storage.
    I am very frustrated.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Mary

Purchased iCloud content does not count against your storage quota.  Only device, email, and app data does. The message you are receiving indicates your local iPad storage if full, you will need to delete items (apps, music, video/movies) from your iPad.

  • Retrieve movies from cloud

after the last update i lost all my movies from itunes. they were all in the icloud . How do i get them back?

What speed does your ISP state that it provides for you. Mine claims 6 Mbps, but with the normal so-called 'overhead' which includes packets of data being routed & rerouted all over the place, I usually get a reading of 5 Mbps at best according to this website > http://www.ip-adress.com/speedtest/
I also run Little Snitch Network Monitor which reveals that iTunes servers (which rely heavily on Akamai's servers) usually top out (for me at least) at about a paltry ~618 kB/s.
So that is why I always download everything in full from iTunes before playing as I just don't want to be bothered w/any annoying content buffering; especially as it's content that I pay for.
    Best Regards,

  • Using external hard drive - moving music from desktop to laptop

I wish to use an external hard drive to move my library from my desktop to my laptop. However, I do not wish to load the library onto my laptop, I would like to keep the library stored on the external hard drive. Here is what I have done so far:
    - I followed the directions on this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1364
    - I downloaded the current version of iTunes onto my laptop and authorized this computer.
    - I connected the external hard drive to my laptop and turned it on. I opened iTunes > Edit > Preferences > Advanced and change the music folder location to the folder location on the external hard drive.
None of my library has shown up in iTunes. I am positive that the library is on the external hard drive.
What have I missed or what do I need to do to resolve this issue and run iTunes through the external hard drive on my laptop?
Thank you so much for you help!

*Of course I am slightly confused by a few of the folders.....iTunes Library Extras, iTunes Library Genius, iTunes Library*
None of those are folders, they are files. The iTunes Library is the main database file that contains the information on what you have added to you library, songs, locations, playlists etc: What are the iTunes library files?
*There are still other files I am not sure about. They are:, Temp File.tmp 13.0MB, Temp File 6.00MB, Previous iTunes Libraries 75.9MB, iTunes Music (larger than 6.23GB), iTunes Music Library 20.9MB, (XML Document), Album Artwork 212MB*
Apart from the ones obviously labelled File, the rest of these are folders
Temp Files (no idea what they are temporary files of but they were created by Windows)
Previous iTunes Libraries (a folder of libraries created by earlier versions of iTunes, can be used to roll back a version of iTunes when a particular new installation doesn't work)
iTunes Music (the folder that your music and other media files, songs movies etc. are kept in)
iTunes Music LIbrary.xml (a file that contains some of the information contained in the main library file and is used by other programs which interface with iTunes)
Album Artwork (a folder that contains artwork downloaded from the iTunes Store)
You'll get more information including the Folder/File structure in this article: What are the iTunes library files?

  • Moving library from desktop to laptop

I have i-Tunes 7 on both my desktop and laptop; but my main library is on my desktop. I want to be able to move my library from the desktop pc to the laptop, INCLUDING playlists etc. I don't mind replacing the laptop library with the desktop library, as I can then re-import the tunes that were on the laptop library into it. Can you tell me how best to do this? I have a Lacie external hard drive with which to carry out the move (no DVD burner).
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

  • Downloading movie from cloud interupted

A previously purchased movie was interupted while downloading. Now the cloud icon is gone, and trying to open from the library says file cannot be found. How do I resume download?

The Zen M doesn't doesn't actually record using the video cable, just outputs video. If you have a Tivo 2 you might want to check out the Tivo Desktop software for windows.
It should allow you to get content off of your TV and transcode it to put on your Zen M. http://www.tivo.com/4.9.4.-2.asp?It requires a neworked Tivo 2 unit to work, have a friend using it and it seems pretty cool.

  • Help Move from Home to Laptop

I have Itunes stored on my home computer with all of my music and movie files. I now installed Itunes on my laptop, how do I get all of the files on my home computer moved over to my laptop?

i've had to do this a couple of times before and it's not too hard, but everything has to be set up just right before attempting the 'transfer'. otherwise you'll be spending a lot more time on this than you had planned. the steps in the following link should lead you in the right direction.

  • Moving iWeb from desktop to laptop

I need to transition iWeb from my desktop iMac to my Macbook as I'm hitting the road for a few months. Ideally I'd like to be able to open a synced version of iWeb on both machines that let me use either to access and update the same website...
But for now, I just want to drag the right files over to my laptop so I can open iWeb and hit the ground running. Anyone have the right answer? Thanks.

If you have a .Mac account you can place the Domain file on your iDisk. When you wanna work with your web site you just open your iDisk and double click on the file. This way you can work on both your desktop and laptop with the site and you don't risk to lose your thumbdrive with the file in it.

  • Moving movies from old iphone to new computer

My old pc has died and I havew purchased new one and in process of synching my iphone up to it.
My iphone has about 25 home movies on it (not taken with iphone) that were synched up to old computer that I no longer have access to.
These movies appear in itunes in under films when i explore iphone - how do i get these movies copied on to my new computer as there does not seem to be a copy option?
I have music in itunes on new computer and have transferred purchases/apps etc and contacts backed up but worried that i will lose these movies if i proceed to sync...
    Help would be much appreciated....

With a Mac, you'd connect the iPhone to the Mac using the USB cable and then launch iPhoto or whatever other photo/movie application you like, and then import the videos from the phone. You should be able to do the same with your PC; use whatever video importer you like, it should treat the iPhone like any other camera.
You can also use this iOS app, but it will only work pictures and with fairly short videos.

  • Moving movies from iTunes to iPod (6th gen 160gb classic)

Ok, so recently I've been having trouble with the transfer of my movies to my iPod (I have about 40 movies/TV shows on it already that I've never had trouble with)
Ex: I have a few episodes of Boy Meets World(not purchased from the iTunes store, but all of them play perfectly fine in iTunes). I put them into a new playlist, selected them all, and dragged the playlist onto my iPod. The issue is that only SOME episodes transfer and there aren't any error messages or anything, they just don't go on my iPod. **I also tried adding them one by one and it still doesn't work.
I have PLENTY of room left on my iPod for the episodes, they just won't transfer and I don't know why.
Is it my iTunes (meaning I should probably re-install it), or is it my iPod?

is your iTunes set to sync all content to iPod or only sync checked items?
Do you get any error messages stating that the video cannot be played on your device?

  • Transferring a movie from iPad to laptop

I purchased a movie on my ipad but I cant get it to sync to the computer. It has always worked in the past with music and movies... any ideas...?

    Hi Finty2,
If the movie was purchased through the iTunes Store, you may want to try redownloading it from iTunes on your computer. You may find the following article helpful:
