HT4859 my icloud not backing up....just estimating waiting for back up.... nothing backing up
my iphone is not backing up.....or its just estimating.....last bacl up was 22 NOV 12.....please help....
I guess I'm not the only one having this issue.....nobody has a solution.

Even though iCloud can hold your iOS devices backup file and can store some data it is more of a syncing service than a backup service. Care to elaborate a little more, what is not backing up?

I did this and now my videos are not working. They show the pictures aren't there on some and on others it shows they are there, but doesn't show them in the player. When I try to Share anything it just says Waiting for Processing for hours. What do I do?

ThanksI have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue. -

When you respond, also indicate which country and carrier you're using. Also, is your phone brand new? can you make a phone call / access the internet while on cellular? -
It is hooked up to good wifi and it is updating apps and not updating it just says waiting and it wont update or install anything while it is doing that how do I get it to stop updating?

I tried to add an email address to imessage as well as my number so my friend could email me from their ipad.
Firstly it said there was a problem with my apple ID password so i reset that (new password works fine, i have been able to download apps etc since!)
Now under iMessage it just says waiting for activation.. and it is only here i get the message saying my password is incorrect?!
I have tried rebooted and restarted phone many times.
I can no longer send imessages to other iphones, just texts! Its driving me mad!
why will it not recognise my password?! i even tried adding an extra email account and verified that with the password - worked fine!

My imessage just says "waiting for activation..." what do i do!?
When I try to turn my imessage on it just says "Waiting for activation..." undernneath it. How do I activate it? I'm also not recieving texts from certain people.
I have a solution to all of you who faced this problem of waiting for activations for both FaceTime and iMessage.
Here's how I did mine;
For "FaceTime"
1) Launch "Settings" app
2) Select "FaceTime"
3) Select "Apple ID: (your ID)"
4) Select "Change Location" (to where "Country" your phone number is registered)
5) Select the "Country" you are in
6) Back to "Settings"
Do the same for "iMessage"
1) Launch "Settings" app
2) Select "Messages"
3) Select "Receive At"
4) Select "Apple ID: (your ID)"
5) Select "Change Location" (to where "Country" your phone number is registered)
6) Select the "Country" you are in
7) Exit
After you've done all the settings as aboves; Now hold down the "Home" and "Power" button until you see the "Apple" logo to reboot your iPhone. Let go you fingers after seeing the "Apple" logo appears.
Go back to the "Settings" app.
For "Facetime"
1) Select "FaceTime"
2) You'll notice your "FaceTime" has been activated
3) Go to the bottom and Select "Caller ID"
4) You should have your "Phone Number" selected
5) Back to "Settings"
For "iMessage"
1) Select "Messages"
2) You'll notice your "iMessage" has been activated
3) Select "Receive At" (now you'll see "2 Addresses >)
4) Go to the bottom and Select "Caller ID"
5) You should have your "Phone Number" selected
6) Exit and enjoy your iOS5

when i upgraded my iphone to the new update My iphone 5 screen went completely black and has been like it for 2 days. I have tried holding home and lock,I have tried holding lock and the volume, and I have tried holding just the volume, it still just stays black.
When i plugged it into my Mac the apple logo comes up on the iphone screen. and then on the computer it says itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. you must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes. (as in the below pictures)
when i click ok to restore it just says waiting for iphone (as in the other photo below). i left it in for 20minutes and still said the same thing.
after that i tried unplugging the iphone and it just went back to being a black screen again if anyone has any idea please please help me, thank you.I searched the iPod Touch forum for "iphone in recovery mode" and it appears there are two possible solutions:

Hi, I just downloaded iBooks and I downloaded a book but i wanted to get the hunger games one and they dont Havre it so I erased the app and when I wanted to download another one it just says waiting and it does nothing , CAN YOU HELP ME!
Don't know if there is an option make the download window stay up, but you can bring it back with Ctrl+J then right-click on the download to open the folder it was downloaded to.

Just got an iMac. I am trying to use Migration Assistant. The Mac side seems to be doing it's job, but my PC just keeps "Waiting for the Mac to connect." For over an hour.
Probably a PC issue, you can try calling AppleCare, you are covered for 90 days from the date of purchase and can find the phone number in the owners manual. Also please look over:

ICloud not backing up iPhone 4s data?
I have an iPhone 4S, for most of the time I back up on iTunes via my PC, but today I wanted to turn iCloud back up back on, just in case ya know,...well I turned it back on and hit the back up now tab,...the phone told me it was "estimating time of back up" and made no progress, it did this for 10 minutes and then said back up could not be completed and just gave me the date of the last back up I did before. I called apple cares and they told me to reset the network settings, restart the phone and restart the router. I did all this and nothing has worked. I dont think its a problem with the router because I can turn wifi on on the phone and surf the web just fine. Its just iCloud will not back up my phone....any suggestions or any ideas as to what is going on?? Thanks guys and gals.
Thanks for your help. I stumbled apon another user having the same issues. It has been determined that its the modem that has a firmware issue. Its the Arris TG862G wireless cable modem. The website says that they are working to update the firmware if customers want to wait...or we can call Comcast and get a new modem sent out for free.

Since Apple demanded I change my old six digit password to a new min 8 digit one i do not seem to be able to access iCloud.
I have games which I wish to reinstall but they have their icon on screen but just say "waiting"

ICloud not backing up on iPad but apparently is via iTunes
I thought I'd try backing up wirelessly through the backup option via iCloud on my iPAD, it responds after a good few minutes (maybe 10/15 mins) with there's been a problem please try again later (the blue progress bar just about appears). I've now tried this half a dozen time over the past two days.
Storage remains at 25.0 GB, both 'Total Storage' and 'Available' (I have less than 25.0 GB to backup). Whilst connected to iTunes, under Summary/Backup, I have 'Backup to iCloud' selected. This indicates that a recent backup has been performed, but there is no reflection of this in the available storage.
Just wondering if there really is a backup process happening, I can revert to 'Backup to this comuter' but that's not really the point of iCloud and be PC free.

Also, is the new iPad running the same or higher version of iOS as the one you backed up? (If not, you'll have to update it before your backup will be available to restore from.
As for the backup going quickly, the backup is actually an incremental backup, backing up only changed files. If little or nothing has changed since your last backup it will go very quickly.
