If you had the hard drive from the original machine, a backup of the same, an iPod with the media, or a subscription to iTunes Match then there would have been hope, but alas no.

I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with iBooks on your devices. If you continue to have issues opening the book in question on your iPad Air due to a format error, you may want to try deleting the copy on your iPad, then redownloading it directly to your iPad from the iBook Store. This could be a result of Automatic Downloads not being enabled, the apps were too large to download via the cellular data network or a cellular data connection was not available at the time of download. The best option would be to download the missing apps via the steps in the second article below.

HT1725 I was trying to download a book onto my itunes on my iphone(The Rise of Of Nine by Pittacuslore).

I tried to download this book from itunes onto my iphone.the first part downloaded and then the second part it just stopped. It says to 'tap' to resume. then a message pops up saying " the url is not available", i tried again today and it still does not work.suggestions?

Ever since updating to IOS5 my iPhone will no longer sync with my iTunes on my computer. It states that my computer is not authorized to sync with my iPhone yet it is authorized. My "Music" folder on my iPhone is now showing as completely empty.

Guys, I found another user and what he said to do worked!!! I have copied the information below:
This was 1 of the things that happend to me too, the other one was that at the bottom of the itunes page were it says all the memory info, it marked that I had over 3gb of other memory wich I didn't.
Anyways what I did was to unmark the calendar, contacts etc. ( so that they wont sync with the computer ), pressed apply, then I marked all of them again, apply again and for last I pressed Sync wich is at the bottom right coner by the apply botton.
I'm not sure that had anything to do with it but it worked, my music appeard both of my itunes playlists and the ones I bought in itunes. Also the other memory dissapeard and it's all good.
I'm not sure this will help you but thats my 5 cents, if the problem continues its better to call customer service and ask for a technician.

Authorized music purchased will not play says unauthorized to play and when you follow instructions to fix the issue says authorized...

If only a few songs on an album are doing that, that suggests the tracks are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".

There is no solution other than getting all of your content into a single iTunes library. By design, iPhone syncs or manually manages with one computer/iTunes account at a time.

You cannot drag a song to Touch. It forces you to be organized. Make a list in itunes then drag that list to the Touch icon in the side bar. That should work.

I just bought the new Iphone 5 and i cant get itunes to download, I keep getting the error message: Service 'Apple Mobile Device'(Apple Mobile Device) failed to start.Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
I have no idea what that mean my iPhone connects to my computer and charges and i can import pictures it just iTunes that won't work.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

How do I download and install a music text tone on iPhone 4S?

I downloaded a text tone from iTunes. Now I want to use it, but I can't see it in the Sounds menu on my iPhone 4S.

Here I'll show you a method using computer iTunes to create ring and text tones:
1. Select a title (.mp3 or .m4a) in your iTunes Library
2. Do File > Get Info on selected title (Windows do Edit > Get Info)
3. In the dialog choose Options tab
4. Set Start Time and End Time (no more than 35 secs otherwise won't work, and text tone around 25 secs)
5. Close dialog.
6. Now control click the title (right click) and choose Create AAC Version
Note: If you don't have Create AAC version, switch in menu File > Preferences...(Windows do Edit > Preferences...) > General > Import Settings... > Import Using: AAC Encoder.
7. When it is done, drag the newly create title to the desktop.
8. Delete the newly create title in iTunes. <-- This step is important
9. Rename the title on your desktop from ringtone.m4a to ringtone.m4r
10. Drag and drop it into iTunes
Now you have a ringtone.
Make sure it is selected in iTunes for syncing with your new iPhone.

I have subscribed to iTunes Match and have employed it to listen to music on my Macbook Air and iMac. On these devices it seems to operate by streaming music to the device rather than deleting the device's current iTunes library and downloading songs as they are played from iTunes Match. Not so on the iPhone as far as I can tell. Consequently, to date I have not activated iTunes Match on my iPhone 4S. I presently have 40-50GB's of music on my iPhone, sync'd from my iTunes music library on my Macbook Air. I am concerned that if I enable iTunes Match on my iPhone I will lose the music library already on my iPhone, as Apple seems to be representing that once iTunes Match is enabled on the iPhone the current music library, carefully compiled, will be gone from the iPhone forever (unless I later re-sync it from the iTunes library on my laptop), that it will be deleted. Although this would free up a lot of space on my iPhone, I bought the 64GB phone just so that I could keep a lot of music on it and accessible at all times. I am concerned that in certain instances, say if I am in the subway and want to listen to music on my iPhone but don't have internet access below ground, that I won't have much music to listen to, only those songs previously played and thus downloaded onto the phone from iMatch, presenting me witrh a rather limited choice of music to play instead of the 40-50GB's I now have to choose from. Apple seems to have presented me with the choice of the lesser of 2 evils: i) enable iTunes Match and lose the music library already on the iPhone in exchange for access to iTunes Match and a greater number of songs than I can fit onto the phone (my library exceeds the phone's capacity) when a Cloud connection is available or ii) don't enable iTunes match and limit myself to only those songs, a considerable portion of my library to be sure but not all of it, that I can fit in the phone's storage space, i.e., the 40-50 GB's I have on there now. If I choose the latter course, each time I purchase an album I'll have to delete another album to make room for it on the phone. Apple thus offers me a sort of Hobson's choice, bad all the way around. Do I have this right? The Apple techs I've spoken to don't seem to have a handle on the "deletion" aspect of enabling iTunes Match on the iPhone. Right now, I'm too scared of "losing" my iPhone music library to enable iTunes Match on the iPhone. [Possible work-around, albeit a pain in the ***: I suppose that I can enable iTunes Match on the iPhone and spend the next couple of weeks 24/7 downloading songs from my iTunes Match library back onto the phone to replace at least some of those deleted when Match was enabled, thereby rebuilding a proxy library on the phone itself to play when I'm stuck in a tunnel between Brooklyn and Manhattan while maintaining access to thee larger iTunes Match library, more music than my phone will hold, once we come back into the light and my Cloud connection is restored.] Comments, suggestions will be appreciated. HT204406 I can't seem to download songs from iTumes Match on my new iPhone 5. It still works fine on my iPad. Both are running ios6 and there is plenty of free space on the phone (20 GB or so). The download icon shows & flashes but nothing happens.

I am trying to play songs from iTunes Match on my phone everything is enabled. The songs and playlists show up but when I select one it won't download or play. The download status icon next to the song name flashes on and off but nothing happens. When I go to the iTunes Store the download section shows the same behavior - it flashes that there is 1 download continuously but nothing downloads. My iPad on the same network also running ios6 works fine. Any ideas?

Problem closed (although not resolved). After working with Apple support, no resolution was found. I asked for a refund of the iTunes match purchase price, which was granted. Interestingly the support tech, who was very nice if not particularly helpful from a technical point of view, spun the "resolution" of refunding my iTunes match purchase price as a positive one, here is a quote from the final email
"I'm glad to hear that you're not having issues with the songs you've purchased. Nothing makes Apple happier than to hear that our customers concerns have been rectified."
It is notable that I never had an issue downloading music directly purchased thru the iTunes store, the only issue that existed was downloading songs that I ripped from my CD collection and "matched".
I'm happy that I received my money back, however I wish that the iTunes Match service worked for me (I was looking forward to this service). I'm most upset at the time I wasted trying to fix this problem.
I'll now download music the old fashioned way: syncing with iTunes directly.

I want to update my iphone from 6.1.4 to ios7 using OTA but i'm not sure if my content will stay in the phone after the update especially the music cuz rest of it is backed up on icloud.

Updating is not suppose to wipe any media or apps.
It may happen because sometimes things just go wrong.
I would back everything up first.
