You can save files to iCloud from iCloud aware applications in the save dialog of such apps. -
How to access photos on iCloud from an iPad I no longer own
I recently sold my iPad, but stored my photos onto my iCloud account before doing so. How do I access those photos & its database on to my iPhone and MacBook Pro?
You can't store your photos on icloud, what is it you think you have done. if you are referring to photostream, just enable photostream on another device and any photos in photostream will be synced to that device.

How to access photos in iCloud
My icloud storage is full. How do I see the photos in order to delete unwanted pics?
Photo stream photos don't count against your iCloud storage so deleting these won't help. The only photos that use your storage plan are camera roll photos (and videos), which are included in the iCloud backup. You can view these by looking in your camera roll on your iOS device.
This article explains other options to manage and reduce your iCloud storage: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4847. -

I am after some advice on how to access photos on an iPad that were synced from a now failed laptop? The question stems from a need to return my current iPad having just taken delivery of a new unit. Thanks
If you have a dropbox account, there's a free app (probably more) that syncs photos to your dropbox account - picbox.
There's also PhotoSync that syncs photos to/from a number of different services and devices. -

How to delete photos in icloud
If you mean Photo Stream, just go to icloud.com, log in, click on your name in the upper right, click on advanced, and then choose reset Photo Stream. That removes all photos stored there.

Hi Asanyasir,
If you are trying to download your pictures from Photo Stream, you may want to look at this article -
iCloud: Shared Photo Streams FAQ
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5903
In particular this section -
Can photos be saved or downloaded from a shared photo stream?
Yes. After photos are shared, anyone who can view the shared stream can download and keep them permanently.
On a compatible iOS device, you can save photos to the Camera Roll. On a Mac, using iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later, you can save photos from the shared stream to your local Photo Library or any other location on your Mac. On a Windows PC, you can copy photos from a shared photo stream to any folder. On the web, photos can be downloaded directly to your computer from the detail view of each photo.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

HT4859 how to manage photos in icloud?
How to view my photos storage in icloud? also, how to delete there photos in icloud?
Viewing:
If you mean photo stream photos, you have to view them on an iOS device in the my photo stream folder (although only photos from the last 30 days are still in iCloud even though older photos remain on your device), or on a computer syncing with your iCloud account with photo stream enabled.
If you mean camera roll photos stored in your backup, you can't view them. You can only access them by restoring the entire backup to your device.
Deleting:
To delte your photo stream photos, delete them from your my photo stream album on your device.
To delete photos stored in your backup, you have to delete the backup from your device (Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, tap Delete Backup. -

I am trying to find out how to store all of my digital photos on iCloud, to protect against loss. I have bought 50Gb of storage, but can't see how I transfer the files from my hard disk to the cloud. Any help would be very much appreciated!
iCloud is not file storage, you would be better off using DropBox, Box or Google Drive.

How to view photos in icloud?
Where do I go tonview photos in icloud storage?
Hey Glejeune,
iCloud is great for storing photos, but I believe the only way to access them is actually on a device, like an iPhone or a Mac. On the iPhone, you can sign in with the iCloud account and then enable to photostream in the settings. Then you can see your photostream in the Photos App. On the mac, the process is similar. You need to sign in to your iCloud Account through the iCloud settings in the system preferences. As a note, you will need OS X 10.7.x and up for this. Once you sign in, you can enable the photostream through the iPhoto Preferences, and then you can view your photostream here.
Hope this helps,
Bryan

How can I tell if my HD is a 7200 RPM One?
I bought a MBP 17" High Res, from an apple store. With a 160 GB HD. On the outside of the box it said that the HD was 7200 RPM, which came as a nice surprise, because online they list the 160 HD as 5200 RPM. I was going to order the 200 GB HD 7200 RP
