iCloud app can't be launched from system preferences and screens an error to be reported to Apple:

The rest of apps can be openned but not iCloud. I have tried to log in into iCloud from the web and my iPhone and it works fine.
Any help on how to solve this problem from the macbook?

Does it open in the guest user? If it's not enabled, you can do it from the apple >> system preferences >> users and groups. Open the lock, select the guest user account and check the box to allow logging into it.

Which apps can import tasks/reminders from Mountain Lion?
Hi, in Mountain Lion, I can change tasks only in small screen of 2*2"and need another program. So, I need a new app. I have 200 tasks to export from Mountain Lion to new app, so which efficiency app can 1) Import tasks from Mountain Lion. 2) is great to work with. 3) and has an attractive price. 4) and works with I cloud and I phone as well. For example Wunderlist can not import yet. Thanks a lot.
Does it need to work with iCloud specifically, or work with "the" cloud?
Things can import tasks from Reminders if you have them in a specific list that you specify. It has iOS apps as well. -
How come I can't add a song to my playlists in itunes match? Is it me or itunes match? It keeps on coming up with a message " iCloud playlists can only contain songs from your iCloud music library. If you continue, the playlist will be removed from iCloud and will only be available on this computer"?
You must surely be able to add and subtract songs on specific playlist?I fixed this issue (with help from tech support) and it involved several things.
After adding a song to iTunes, right-click on the song in iTunes and select "Update iTunes Match."
OR go to the iTunes menu-->Store-->Update iTunes Match.
Maybe that's the reason, it just hadn't updated to the cloud.
OR maybe it's not a high-enough bitrate file. This happens to me because most of my tunes are home-recorded.
Sometimes converting to .mp3 or Create AAC version might work. (You do this with a right-click in iTunes, and then you will want to remove the original file from iTunes.)
There is an iTunes Preferences setting, under General Preferences called Import Settings. Try setting it to AAC Encoder and iTunes Plus. That (I think) causes imports to be slightly better quality.

I download a song & then I try to drag it into a playlist & I get a warning "iCloud playlists can only contain songs from your iCloud music library. If you continue, my iPod will be removed from iCloud and will only be available on this computer."
I'm sorry to see that no one has answered this. I'm hoping Apple with reply to my support request, as I'm having the same issue. I really don't want to continue with iCloud at this point.

i accidentally deleted some drivers from my macbook air and now i can not access app store and system preferences as it says the following message (You can't open the application System Preferences because it may be damaged or incomplete)
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu. -
Can't modify Mavericks iCloud settings from System Preferences or connect Mail to iCloud
I tried Keychain for the first time the other day, went away for the weekend and forgot my master password #*#@$!
In the process of trying a few different fixes I've changed my Apple ID password. Most things are working well.
I can log in to iCloud via a browser using my Apple ID & new password. I can also log in to itunes using the new password.
When I select iCloud from System Preferences and purposefully enter a wrong password, it tells me 'Incorrect password' in red font. But when I enter the correct password, it is not rejected but the 'Enter Password' option remains on display and all the iCloud options/checkboxes remain greyed out.
In Mail, there is an error symbol against the iCloud inbox. When I click on the error/circle symbol I am told 'Mail can't connect to the iCloud account "iCloud" ' and am requested to enter the password, which I do but with no effect.
Contacts has a similar problem and displays an error circle next to the iCloud account list, as does Calendar.
Any ideas out there? Please help me!!
Is there any way to use Time Machine to revert to earlier settings?If you are running Mt. Lion download and apply the OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.2 (Combo). It includes the iCloud preference pane for the System preferences.
If you're running Lion then download and apply the OS X Lion Update 10.7.4 (Client Combo) as it also includes the iCloud preference pane.

Hello, I had 25Go transfered from MobileMe, skimmed down to 5Go now. I cleaned my emails. From mail, on my mac, 'get account information' shows less than 1 Go... From System preferences/iCloud, up to yesterday it showed 12Go...
I don't understand!

iCloud (and Mobile Me before it) are consumer level systems, working correctly they are a poor choice for business use, if you want to stay all Mac try Zimbra if you can let a little Microsoft in the mix use Microsoft Exchange (Mail, iCal & Address Book are compatible as clients), hosted Exchange systems cost about $10 per month.
Or try to fix what is wrong with your installation (which is clearly not running as it should) -
All of the sudden my System Preferences in Mavericks has stopped working and I get the error message:
You can't open the application "System Preferences.app" because it is not supported on this type of Mac.
It was working fine before this, and I have run Permissions Repair, restarted to another partition and run Diskwarrior and TechTool Pro, but none of those has helped. Anyone have any ideas why this happened, and what I can do to fix it?See this entire thread

Can't load Network Settings from System Preferences
For some reason I can't load Network Settings from System Preferences anymore - it just stalls with the bar showing "Loading Network" and doing nothing. This is happening in conjunction with a new inability to connect to a network printer - it won't show up on the list of printers, even when I manually enter the IP address. Something is obviously mucked up - can anyone tell me what it might be & how I can fix it? Thanks!
I was able to fix this myself by using one of the techniques suggested here for a different problem. Basically I went into Library/Preferences/System Configuration and deleted networkinterfaces.plist, preferences.plist & com.apple.nat.plist. All were rebuilt when I restarted and went to System Preferences/Network and I was able to load the Network Settings. This didn't fix the problem with my printer, but at least it got the settings up.

Put in a request for another verification e-mail to be sent to you.
Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
Also check your Mail rules and filtering, the verification mail may be going to a junk folder or even being deleted altogether. You may also wish to contact your mail provider to see if their spam filters are removing the email before it gets to you. -
My iCloud system preferences is asking me for my apple id password, but will not let me click ok, forget, or sign out....just makes this annoying noise .....so now i can't even use my system preferences at all....all i can do is hide sytem preferences.....Please help?
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

How do you launch new Acrobat 9 from System Preference pane? Message comes up "FMCore stopped. Start from System Preference pane, then relaunch. Illustrator does the same thing.
Update your Extensis Suitcase with the latest version. Check on their website. It's not an Acrobat or Illustrator problem.
