  • My iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 8.1 laptop or my Windows 7 PC.

I have been going through the forums for the last few weeks and nothing has helped.  Both computers are x64 bit.
    Problems I am experiencing
    A. Windows 7 PC has not synced photo stream since September 25
    B. Windows 8.1 laptop has not synced since a little before that.
    C. I can't upload any photos (.jpegs) to the photo stream.  An error pops up saying that they cann't be uploaded as they are not in a format supported by iCloud, even though they are jpegs.
    D. Photos are syncing ti my ipad 3 perfectly fine, so clearly there is a problem with my computers but I am totally stumped.
I have un-installed, deleted all icloud photo stream folders, restarted and then re-installed the iCloud control panel on both computers, and it has created new folders and re-synced maybe 30 photos before it stopped again.
I have uninstalled every single Apple program on my Windows 8.1 laptop and reinstalled iTunes, iCloud and Quicktime and that didn't help.
I have toggled the Photo Stream on/off button in setting on my iphone, and that seemed to kick start the sync on my Windows 7 PC this morning, so far I've got 70 photos on my Windows 7 PC and that's where it has stopped but its a really random selection, and doesn't include the photos I took yesterday or today.
Two of my colleagues at work where my Windows 7 PC is located - their photo streams are working fine, both using ios7 and icloud control panel, however their computers are x32 bit.
I have also simply logged out and signed in again multiple times, however that doesn't do anything.
I have unticked the "read-Only" permissions on my photo icloud stream folder, but that didn't help either.
I have followed the troubleshooting from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989 - however that also did not help.
I have tried changing the folder path for iCloud photo stream, however that did not help either.
I tried the steps from someone who said they spoke to an Apple rep (steps copied from forum and I put them in italic) on this forum: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5381738
Anyway, the Apple rep had me sign out of iCloud CC on my PC.
Then on each iOS devices Settings/iCloud/Delete Account.
    Confirmed all the warnings.
Then re-entered my iCloud id and password on the iOS device.
Things restarted and the iOS Photo Streams got loaded with the number of photos that
    iCloud has.
Signed in on iCloud on the PC. It synced the same way.
Tried taking pictures on the iPhone and iPad. They synced everywhere.
    So I'm back in business.
I just deleted everything on my iOS devices when I exited iCloud.
My interest is the PC syncing when I take a photo on my iPhone.
ME: Okay so these steps again refreshed the photostream on my iPhone 5.  I can see that the photos I took yesterday and today have been uploaded to the photo stream as I can see them there on my device.  I have also now signed back into iCloud on my Windows 7 PC and it is slowly syncing again, but just recognising the same photos it downloaded previously as per Step 3 which I did just earlier this morning.
I have also just tried uploading photos via the upload folder from my windows 7 PC, and they uploaded perfectly.
This is really, really frustrating.  I've tried everything I can find on these forums but nothing has helped fix the issue 100%.
Can anyone offer something else I can try to reslove this issue?

Hi all.  I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues.  Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem.  …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive.  Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab.  Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
    Open the Users folder.
    Open your user folder
    Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
    Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco.  The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”.  Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear.  Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?
    Good luck…

You have to reset the device to Factory Settings in order to restore it from an iCloud backup. You probably want to back it up as is before you do this.
To do the reset after you have backed up the current device, go to Settings>Reset>Reset all Content & Settings. This will erase the device. If you are signed onto iCloud with Find My iPhone turned on, go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom to sign out of iCloud before you do the reset.
Once you have reset your device, you will set it up like a new phone. When it asks if you want to restore it from an iCloud backup, select the backup you want to restore it from.
    Cheers,

  • ICloud photo stream problem

Hi all - I really need your help.
My iPhoto '11 was working just fine until I upgraded it to 9.4.3.  I also just installed the recent system upgrade.  Now I am having multiple problems. It seems to stem from Photo Stream.  Activity Monitor shows that Photo Stream is using up gobs of CPU which is strange since it is supposed to not be working...
In iPhoto, under the preferences, it shows that Photo Stream is not enabled.  If I check the box to turn it on, it just unchecks itself just as quickly.  But in the system preferences, it shows that Photo Stream is set up just fine.  Photo Stream is certainly not working.  And it seem to be totally screwing up iPhoto.  I have tried multiple iPhoto fix options (option alt fixes, restoring a backup library, uninstalling then reinstalling iPhoto) with no improvement.
I'm not sure if the problem is coming from iPhoto or iCloud Photo Stream problems.  I am running OSX 10.8.4 on a 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7.
Can anyone tell me what to do?  Thank you so much!

Well Old Toad, I am stumped.
I double checked and logged out of iCloud in both user accounts and made sure that PS was not enabled on either library.  Then I restarted the computer.  I went back to my main user account (second account set up = non administrator account) and to my main iPhoto library, logged into iCloud, tried turing on PS = did not work.
If I do the exact same thing as above for a restore of a backup of my library = does not work.
If I do the exact same thing above but log in with my first account (not my main one but it is the admin account on the computer) and access the test library I created = PS works just fine with no problem.
It seems the problem with PS is limited to my primanry account (non-admin).  Do you think the admin privaledges difference between the two accounts could be the problem...?
As always, I am thankful for your time and advice.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
iCloud Control Panel is only compatible with Windows Vista, 7 and 8, so you can't use Photo Stream on Windows XP

  • Getting photos back from iCloud Photo Stream

I just thought I would put this here as a way to fix at least one issue with iCloud Photo Stream. This was on my iPhone 4.
My kid plugged my iPhone into my wife's computer. It basically put all her information and set up on to my phone. I finally got it all set back up, but none of my photos or videos from photo stream were showing up on my phone. Everything else came back over, mail and contacts, but the photos did not show up. Usage showed that 2.5 out of my 5G still being used so it looked like they are there somewhere, they just wouldn't sync.
This is how I fixed it. At least somewhat. As of this time my videos have not come back yet, but they were rather large and it may take a while. I will try to update later as to whether they come back or not. All the photos are back.
    > I made sure that iCloud backup was ON, on the iPhone.
    > Turned off Photo Stream sync. This warns you that it will "Delete all photos on your phone". Make sure you dont have anything you care about on the phone currently. If you do, I would backup and then come back. Click Delete.
    > Turned Photo Stream back on.
    > Restart iPhone and plug in so it will be charging and make sure you have a wifi connection.
It may be that you should restart the phone before turning Photo Stream back on, but I actually turned it back on and then restarted. Anyways, this fixed this particular issue I had. Follow at your own risk .
I still think its ridiculous that you cannot view photo stream photos on iCloud.com. I really can't see paying for this service with the lack of features and bugginess.

Are you sure about the videos thing? I have 2.6G used on my iCloud account. The only things being synced were Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Bookmarks, Photo Stream and Find my iPhone. I only had 50 photos. There's no way that stuff takes 2.6G worth of storage space.
Secondly, I know all about backups. I do Apache webserver support for a very large university. But when something happens spur of the moment that you don't have control over, its very possible to lose stuff. I don't need to be quoted the manual. I was just trying to be helpful and share something that worked for me to get my photos back since there seem to be a large number of people with similar issues.
Frankly I find Apple's software to be extremely frustrating regarding iTunes and iOS. I have been in IT for 15 years and rarely have I found a software set that is so obtuse as iTunes and iOS. The error messages are NOT clear at all, the manual is equally muddy, and, for example in the case of a "Photo Stream" viewer in the iCloud.com, obvious features are COMPLETELY missing.  I cannot imaging actually paying for iCloud with the lack of features it currently has. For as much money and time Apple spends on researching device user friendlyness, I do not understand why their software is so UNuserfriendly.  I am NOT the only one with this opinion.

  • HT201077 iCloud Photo Stream on Windows no longer Streams

I have a Windows PC, and have used iCloud Photo Stream for a while.  A few months ago, the streams just stopped appearing.  I have logged out, then back into iCloud.  I have changed the folders to be used for Photo Streams.  But, no matter what I do, I can no longer get streaming on my Windows PC.  The streaming between my iPhone and iPad works fine.  I suspect that this tool place with a recent upgrade of either iTunes or iCloud, but this problem has been with me for six months or longer, and I would have expected others to have had the same problem (so that it could be fixed).

I think I have found the reason for our problems?  Photo Stream will only upload photos with a "Date Taken" date higher than the date when you initialised or when you last reset your Photo Stream.  So if you are trying to upload older photos it won't work,  They should be fresh out of the oven to be Photo Streamed.
I have managed to Photo Stream older pictures by using windows to copy and remove all Properties and Personal Information then setting the Date Taken to todays date before mobing the photo into the Upload folder.  Still, it seems a little hit and miss so there's probably something else being checked to validate photos can be Photo Streamed.
So iCloud will move photos between your Windows 7 machine and your iOS5 device but it's a little picky about which ones it will allow. If you can figure out what exactly are the parameters please do tell.

  • ICloud photo stream does not show all photos

I have 1000 photos is my photo stream, however on my Apple TV I just setup, I can only get 322 to show up in the iCloud Photo Stream. I've tried restoring and setting it up again, but I have the exact same numbers of photos.
Is there a reason I can only see 322 out of 1000 photos in my photo stream on the Apple TV?

I noticed the Apple TV was not displaying my photo stream after the update to 6.0. Here is what I did to get it to start displaying my photo stream again.
On your Apple TV go to Settings>iCloud
    Click on iCloud Photo Settings
Turn off both the My Photo Stream and Photo Sharing options then turn them back on again
Select Photo Stream from the Settings menu and navigate to select the photo stream you want to use
    Preview the slide show
I have about 400 images in the photo stream that I use to display on Apple TV and during the preview it took about two minutes before the images displayed.
Then I tested it in a normal setting where I have slide show starting after two minutes. The TV went to screensaver mode after two minutes and was black for about two minutes before the images appeared. Before the update the images would display shortly after the screensaver kicked on.
    I hope this helps!

  • How Do I Use One PC (Windows) To Run iCloud Photo Stream for Two Users?

How Do I Use One PC (Windows) To Run iCloud Photo Stream for Two Users? I and my wife have two Iphones (iOS 6.1.4) and we want to have use 2 iCloud accounts for one PC.

Disregard the question. The solution has nothing to do with any "Firefox bug". Turns out that my session wasn't being managed properly. Or rather, I was accidentally deleting other users' information when new users logged in. So if I had user 1 and user 2, and user 2 logged in after user 1, some of user 1's information would be deleted, resulting in the errors.
Oops; sorry about the false alarm. :)
(Was hoping to retract the question, but it looks like others have a similar problem.)

You have to have an iOS device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) or Mac to create an iCloud account.  However, if you tell your friend to create a shared photo stream and turn on Public Website, he/she will then be able to send you a link that will allow you to view the photos on the internet using your web browser.  You would not be able to comment on the photos as this requires an iCloud account, but you would be able to view them.
You can refer your friend to this link for assistance with this: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99.

  • How do I create a slide show in iPhoto from an iCloud photo stream

ow do I create a slide show in iPhoto from an iCloud photo stream?

Do you mean from a Shared Stream or My Photo Stream?
In iPhoto on your iPhone, iPad you create slideshow projects by selecting photos and then sharing them as a new slideshow. http://help.apple.com/iphoto/iphone/2.0/?handbuch#blnkbc26e276
You can publish your slideshow in iCloud:  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2333
In iPhoto on your Mac you can make an instant slideshow by selecting the photos in the photo stream and pressing the slideshow button, see: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2333

  • (How) can I add a photo from Finder to an iCloud photo stream?

I'm a new Mac user and a little confused. From a Windows PC it is very simple to add a photo to an iCloud photo stream, taken that you have the iCloud plug-in installed. Just right-click a photo and select "Add to photo stream...". On my iMac, on the other hand, I have not yet figured out how or if it's even possible at all.
I'm sure you know, please tell me and you will make my day :-)

Drag the photo onto the iPhoto icon to import it, then drag it to the iCloud heading in the sidebar.

My iPad camera photos will wirelessly sync with my iMac and iCLoud photo stream, but the videos do not, is USB connection the only way to transfer videos or is there also a wireless method?

Videos are not included with the Photo Stream. Photo Stream is for photos only.
There is not a wireless method for importing videos from the iPad's Camera Roll.
