HT4906 How can I subscribe to a shared Photo Stream in iPhoto

I'm trying to use iPhoto to subscribe to a shared Photo Stream from my sister-in-law.  Whenever I click on the invitation, it says I need to sign in to iCloud -- which I have multiple times now -- and be running iPhoto 9.4 (which is actually 9.4.2).  So, I've satisfied all the necessary steps, but it's not bringing up iPhoto on my computer.  I have Photo Stream on iPhoto configured to allow subscribing to shared Photo Streams.
Anyone have any ideas?

Figured it out with a helpful hint from someone elses post.
I have two iCloud accounts.  My System Preferences had iCloud configured with the wrong Apple ID.
The email that gets sent when someone shares a Photo Stream might mention something about the System Preferences -> iCloud needing to be configured if you want to see the shared stream in iPhoto on a Mac.

  • How can I subscribe to a Shared Photo Stream from iPhoto 9.4 on OSX 10.7.5 ?

I just updated to iPhoto 9.4 on both my (just updated) OSX 10.8.2 MacBook Pro and my OSX 10.7.5 Mac mini.
For some mysterious reason Apple specifies that I can not subscribe to the new "Shared Photo Streams" from my OSX 10.7.5 Mac mini.
    How could that be ?
How can I get around this ?
How can it be that Apple claims that 'Shared Photo Streams' can be shared to all my other devices, but it turns out that my major photo-database can't, even though it has a brand new version of last year's OSX running... ???!!!
This can't be a software issue...
because if that were the case Apple would be deliberately cutting off users of last year's operating system... (...I even think there is a law prohibiting that...)
so... can anyone tell me what the exact piece of hardware is that I am missing ?
or has anyone found a solution for this yet ?
    Thanks !

The only hardware that's preventing me from upgrading to 10.8 "Mountain Lion" would be the fact that a Mid-2007 Mac mini doesn't have a separate graphics card...
...as all other hardware-components ar similar to the iMac Mid 2007... :
    - at least 2GB of PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM RAM
    - a 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo "Merom" processor
    - a WiFi-N compatible AirPort-card (I've upgraded the one in my Mac mini to an Atheros AR-9280...)
    - OSX 10.6.8 or later installed (I have OSX 10.7.5)
    - iPhoto 9.4
...so the only spec I not meeting hardware-wise is the fact that my Mac mini has a GMA950 shared graphics card...
but surely... that can not be the reason I can't subscribe to a Photo Stream...
why would that have anything to do with eachother ???!!!
[ I've even seen claims of tricked OSX 10.8 installers for the Mid-2007 Mac mini, so if that's my only option... ]

  • HT201317 How can I move a file in photo stream to an event in iPhoto?

How can I move a file from photo stream to an event in iPhoto?

Select photo stream on the left panel in iPhoto, then drag and drop the photo from photo stream to Events on the top left under Library.  If you then want to move it to a specific event in your library, click on Events, locate the photo and drag and drop it on the event you want to add it to.

  • How can I remove the pictures in photo stream? I have already turn off my photostream at the settings but when i turn it on again, the pictures still come out?

How can I remove the pictures in photo stream? I have already turn off my photostream at the settings but when i turn it on again, the pictures still come out?

Ok you can reset the stream from www.icloud.com
    Goto www.icloud.com
Login with your iCould username and password.
    and login
Then click on your name in the top right hand side of the screen next to sign out,
it opens a window Account details with Language, Time Zone, Advanced
Select Advanced - Then click Reset Photo Stream. and confirm, the stream will be reset and totally deleted
I still think you should be able to remove individual pictures though, a blured image etc is a problem

  • No shared photo stream on iPhoto '11

Hi! I have been trying to create a shared photo stream from iPhoto on mi iMac, but there is no option to do so, I only get my photo stream. I searched Apple support and supposedly under preferences/photo stream there should be a checkbox to enable the shared photo stream, but I only get three check boxes: "Enable Photo Stream", "Automatic Import" and "Automatic Upload", nothing about the shared photo stream. I have the latest version of iPhoto '11 (9.4.2). Any ideas on how to make it work? Thanks!
    Cesar

Shared Photo Streams require 10.8.2 or later.

  • I can't add multiple photos to a shared photo stream in iPhoto.

    Hi All,
I need troubleshooting assistance! How do you add multiple photos at a time into a shared photo stream?
I've selected multiple photos but when I add them, they don't appear in the stream. However if I add them individually they do appear.  I've tried re-setting my internet, re-starting the iMac and iPhoto, I've left iPhoto on overnight in case it took a while to add them to the stream..but nothing works!  I've got a few hundred photos to add for each shared photo stream so I don't want to go individually adding them, there must be an easier way.
I'm running v10.9.4 OS on my iMac and 9.5.1 iPhoto.
For more information, when I select multiple photos and add them to the photo stream, it "looks" like these photos are dropped into the photo stream by the graphics that follow but when I open the stream they are not there!
    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to share only a few photos at a time? When I am sharing a small number of photos all it once, it works.

  • Can't see pics in Shared Photo Streams

On my iMac, I see "My Photo Stream," which is populated with pictures and working correctly.  I also see grey cloud icons for numerous shared Photo Streams that were either shared by me or by others. However, no photos are loading for any of those shared Photo Streams.
Notably, on my devices (2 iPads and 1 iPhone), I can see all of the photos with no trouble.  And when I recently upgraded to iPhone 6, the Photo Streams immediately worked, which suggests to me that the photos do exist in iCloud.
Does anyone have thoughts as to why this is not working on my iMac?

Since you are seeing the Shared Photo Stream Albums in Aperture, but empty, you have all preferences set up correctly.
Aperture or iPhoto should be filling the albums from the folder I mentioned, but they cannot, because this folder is empty.
There may be two reasons for this folder being empty. Either the Photostreamagent is not running or you may be  having a permissions problem with your home folder.
Have you tried to toggle the Photo Sharing off and on again in  the System Preferences, as described here in this link?   iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Photo Sharing and Shared Photo Stream
You could also try if removing the empty folder ~/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/sub-shared   and restarting the Mac will help.
As a test you could try, if the Shared Photo Stream will work in Safe Mode: Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode
If all fails, launch the Console from the Applications folder and check, if there are any error messages relating to "photostreamagent".

  • Automator script to move photos to shared photo stream in iPhoto?

Is there anyway to automatically add new photos, as they are being imported, into a shared photo stream? They default to the main photo stream, which the client will not be subscribing to. If not within iPhoto itself, is there anyway to create an Automator workflow that will do this automatically? The client wants an elegant solution.
Here is the process that I would like to accomplish. A photo is taken with a point and shoot containing an Eye-Fi card. The photo is sent to iPhoto, where it is added to the shared photo stream. The client can view the photos taken at the site, but not worry that his personal photos from his iPhone will end up back on the work computer where this process began. (He will turn off the "My photo stream" slider on his iPhone).
Since I can find no way to get the photos taken from the camera to default to the shared photo stream, can Automator move these photos to that photo stream throughout the day?

I've got a few hundred photos to add for each shared photo stream so I don't want to go individually adding them, there must be an easier way.

  • I do not see all photos exist inside a shared photo stream using iPhoto on Mac

There is a shared photo stream among 5 different users with 125 photos and videos inside. For my account I use 3 different devices to access this photo stream, an iMac, an iPad and an iPhone. All 125 photos appear ok on my iPad and my iPhone. However when I access this stream from iPhoto on my iMac I only see 69 of them. None of the photos I have shared using my accound are there plus some other photos and videos shared by other users. Other users can see all 125 photos in their mobile devices. What is wrong with iPhoto on my iMac?
    Thanks in advance,

    OSX version 10.8.5
    iPhoto version: 9.4.3
With these versions you cannot see the contents posted on IOS 7.0.4 devices by the persons invited to the stream. You will only be able to see the photos streamed by the owner.
If you want to see the photos added by the subscribers to the stream, you need to upgrade to Mavericks and iPhoto 9.5.1. Mt. Lion does not support the new shared photo streams of IOS 7.0.4 fully.

  • Shared photo streams in iPhoto and Apple TV

Why is this proving so difficult for Apple to get right?
All I want to do is create private albums that I can share with family and have them sync back to my Mac so that all I need to do is organise my photos ONCE (i.e. on iPhone or iPad) and see these albums in iPhoto where they are also backed up locally.
I've created a shared photo stream album, shared it with my wife... she can see it on her phone... great.
I look in my iPhoto and there is no sign whatsoever that I've ever created a shared album. Just the main photo stream mess as usual.
Also, I go to my Apple TV and the same thing, just the same "every photo ever" mess.
I've recently taken to using Vimeo because this provides exactly what I need for home video. Create edited video in iMovie for iPad or Mac, then upload it to Vimeo, and share it only with family. I can then view them back on Mac, Apple TV, iPad etc.

Subtitles — SDH support for the deaf and hard-of-hearing as well as improvements to viewing and selecting subtitles.
