Welcome to the Apple Community.
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.

Try restarting all devices including portable iOS ones and your router.
Check Airplay is not disabled in AppleTVs settings.

I just got a new Windows tablet. I set up Home Sharing between it and my desktop Mac but I can't seem to get playlists from my desktop into the tablet. Can I do this by plugging my tablet into my desktop via a USB cable?

I just got an HP Stream 8 tablet with Windows on it. I have a Mac desktop running 10.6.8. I set up Home Sharing by making sure both had the same version of iTunes and I authorized the new tablet (desktop already was). (I haven't exceeded the number of authorized computers.) I would like to take some of the playlists I have on my desktop Mac and copy them into iTunes on the tablet. I hooked up the tablet to my desktop with a USB cable but wasn't able to get it to copy. I do not have WIFI....is there a way to do this by just having the tablet hooked up via the USB cable? If so, can someone please talk me through the steps necessary to do that? Thanks!

Did you erase the machine and set it up with your accounts or is the previous user still on it?

My iphone nor ipad will sync since the most recent itunes update.

I made no other changes to my computer. When I plug in the iphone or ipad the connection sound on my computer indicates it recognizes the product. However when I open iTunes it does not see the connections. Additionally the iphone and ipad open a window on the device that asks if this computer should be trusted. I have never seen that before. Any advice for getting connected again? I'm trying to avoid uninstalling and reinstalling itunes.

It sounds like you can see your iPad or iPhone in My Computer, but not in iTunes. I recommend this article to help you get that working again, named:

I game online and have problems with games working after updating firefox. I use an older version but am concerned about security. Two questions: can I be sure that Firefox 4 will work on my system (vista) and where do I save the file at?

I have had a problem with the compatibility of Firefox running with the games I play online. I don't want to attempt an upgrade again, only to have to turn around and degrade so my activities can work. The latest (and forever last) version is CS6 - it is a dead product,and no longer maintained or supported by Adobe.

It will cost you $299 - but honestly, I would stay away from FW at this point. You are investing money in a dead application, and there is a good chance that it will no longer function properly on your mac in a few years time.

Running Captivate 8 on a Macbook and I am unable to import Powerpoint 2011 (which is up to date) files or slides. I get an error saying that either the file is damaged or I am using an older version of PP....which is not the case.

I tried creating a very simple PP file with just a few words on one slide...ran a compatibility check and all was good. Still could not import that simple slide into Captivate.

OK...found out it did not like me saving as a *.pptx. When I save it as a *.ppt file it imported in correctly. Is this what I will need to do moving forward? I am not sure if I am losing any functionality in the process...

Windows or apple it makes no difference, if you don't have the install discs you can't install.
Did you buy the machine with Adobe (you don't say what adobe program you're talking about) installed? If so the vendor should have given you the discs or else it's technically a pirated copy. If you're talking about acrobat (which is free) then you should be able to find older versions on the adobe site.

it looks like you do have to go to an earlier version. Another alternative would be
to run two versions of Firefox each with their own profile.
You can install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc. At the end of the install don't let the install start Firefox for you, instead exit the install, and start Firefox in your normal manner that should help prevent you from creating a new profile and then using the wrong profile.

Can I access Time Machine within an app like Pages? How do I enter Time Machine within the application? It always takes me to the Finder. I apolgise for the mumbo jumbo. I simply do not know how to use Time Machine. It makes sense when I follow the Tutorial but then I lose it.

OK. You've kind of skipped over the reason why you want to go back five hours, but my assumption would be that you've made changes to a Pages file that you want to revert.
There are two ways to tackle this. From Pages itself, open the current version of your document, and from the File menu, click Revert To, and Browse All Versions. You'll then be in the Time Machine interface for that file, and can browse back to the version you want.
Or, outside of Pages, you can select the file (or the folder it was originally in, if you've since deleted it) and enter Time Machine from the TM menu (it sounds like you've already tried this?)
