My year and half old Macbook Air has just required a new hard drive.  I do not have I Photo and wonder how I can get it on my desk top.I used icloud as my backup.

Go to the App store and log in with the Apple ID you used to set the computer up, go to the pruchases tab, assure that iPhoto is not hidden adn is accepted and download and install again

  • HT4906 How do you find out if you have iPhoto installed?

How do you find out if you have iPhoto installed on your MacBook Pro ?

It is about my Mac, but it's so I can sync my iPhone to my Mac.  I was directed here from the Apple website.
But I don't have iPhoto in my applications folder, so I guess I don't have it installed on my computer.
I thought it did, as when I was going through my iCloud, everything apart from Photo Stream was selected, and underneath it, it said you had to have Aperture or iPhoto installed on your compputer (I back up everything from my phone to my computer, and iCloud)

  • I have a new MacBook Pro with iPhoto installed.  I edit photos, mainly photo orientation via rotating, but when I go back to run a slideshow the changes weren't saved and the photo is back to vertical...please help...thanks

I have a new MacBook Pro with Iphoto installed when purchased.  When editing a photo, primarily orientation changes, the slideshow initially displays the photos in proper orientation.  However, after leaving Iphoto and shutting down the computer, and then going back to run a slideshow the photo displays back to its' original orientation, that is, the edit-change was not saved.  Please help...the program information says all edit-changes are automatically save and therefore there is no save command, but my changes are not being saved...thank you for any suggestions...HM

  • IPhoto install NOT included with Leopard

Here's the scenario: Purchased an iMac 24" (2.8GHhz) a couple of weeks ago. Got it home and fired it up only to be confronted with Tiger as an OS. There were three Leopard Install Discs provided with the machine so (after much head scratching as to which method of install to choose) I did a clean install. All fine, except it was 10.5.0 and needed lots and lots of Software Updates to get up to speed.
At the same time (in the Mac Store Milton Keynes, UK) I purchased a separate copy of Leopard to bring my G4 17" Laptop in line with the shiny new iMac. I was running Tiger 10.4.9 on the lappy. I ran Carbon Copy Clone (just in case) on the laptop before doing a clean install of Leopard 10.5.1 from the purchased disc.
    All pretty straightforward so far.
My main reason for upgrading the laptop was to ensure both machines could run iPhoto 08 (or whatever the latest number is).
When I plugged in (to the iMac) my external Lacie Rugged drive, which holds my Tiger iPhoto Library, Leopard told me that if I opened this in iPhoto 08 I would no longer be able to access it through any earlier versions - thanks Apple!
So, you can imagine my surprise when, after a successful install on the laptop, I came to launch iPhoto only to find it isn't there. A quick look at the (most excellent) Mac Forums provided me with the answer - iLife 08 and it's various components are NOT included with Leopard - thanks again Apple.
A ha, I thought. I'll simply use the 'Everything Else' discs that came with the iMac and install iLife from there.
Pop in the disc, choose 'Install other components' packet... Nope - Message come up - Cannot install this software on this computer. Oops.
Latest thought is (and this eventually leads to the question, bear with me)...
On the Laptop - Go back to the original Tiger install discs and see if there's an option to install iLife 06 components only. Then go back to the Leopard Discs and see if they will then allow for an upgrade rather than an install from scratch.
Question really is, I guess, does anyone else have a suggestion? Other than go out and buy a copy of iLife 08! Just trying not to overspend on Apple products that surely should be included in the Leopard install. I don't recall EVER having to pay for additional Apple software through any of the upgrade paths in the past.

    Hi there
I used Pacifist OSX package extractor. Take the Leo install disc that came with your new Mac, install Pacifist on the computer you want iphoto installed and extract iphoto. I quote from the manufacturers (charlessoft.com) website:
"Pacifist is an essential utility that allows you to extract certain files from Apple's bundled installer packages. For exmaple, if you need to reinstall iDVD, the only Apple-sanctioned choice is to restore your entire system. Using Pacifist, you can extract just the iDVD application.
Even if you think you'll never use it, you should download Pacifist - I guarantee that someday, someway, you'll want to get at just one file out of an installation bundle. As soon as you do, register Pacifist, as it will have just easily paid for itself in time saved!"
I did it that way and it worked flawlessly. Hope this helps.

  • HT4906 iPhoto & iCloud

I paid for an updated version of iPhoto, iPhoto 11.  I did this because I think I need it for iCloud.   I don't have anything about photo stream on my current iPhoto version.
This all started with the purchase of a new iphone 5.  At the store my photos were uploaded to icloud.  I have never used icloud.  But I am attempting to retreive this photos from icloud.
When I try to find the app, my laptop tells me it was download & it won't download it again.  I can't seem to install new version of iPhoto.  None of this may make sense.
All I want to do is (1) open or find icloud to see if my photos are still there.  (2) get the application that I paid for installed.
Thanks if any one can help.

Look in your Applications Folder. What version of iPhoto is there?
Remember that iPhoto 11 is version 9 of iPhoto.
You set up Photostream and iCloud in the SystemPreferences -> iCloud

  • HT201064 Fresh Mavericks install, iPhoto installed from DVD - won't update via the App Store

    Hi all
I did a fresh install of Mavericks, then installed a few apps from the App store.
I then remembered iPhoto etc. that I have from the original install discs (2012 MBP)...but whilst iPhoto says an update is available (9.5.1), and launches the App store it won't show as an update via the App store.
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

Sadly you're mistaken. A 2012 MacBook Pro has no install DVDs. Apple stopped issuing install disks with new Macs soon after the permanent advent of the Mac App Store with OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Additionally, the version of the iLife apps; iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand that last came on install disks are not the Mac App Store (MAS) versions and are not compatible with being updated through the MAS.
The apps from that old disk that you have from another Mac may be updatable however, using the Software Update facility in the Apple menu.

  • Iphoto install

I had an issue with iphoto 11 which came preinstalled on my macbook pro.
I had updates available for iphoto but somehow couldn't upgrade because it said I have to install the upgrade using the ID I purchased iphoto with.
But as I said before iphoto came preinstalled.
So after searching on some forums I ended uninstalling iphoto.
When I trie to install it again from the app store I get an "accept" button.
After I press it says :
"These apps cannot be accepted on this computer. Future updates of these apps can be found through Software Update."
So now I cannot even purchase iphoto anymore.
Does someone know a fix for this?

You need to contact App Store support. They'll need to reset your account to download the App and update in the future.

    What should I do?

Hey there! So, I already contacted Mac App Store support several times, the response:
    - "Apple is currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available.
Thank you for your patience. Apple wants your iTunes experience to be as enjoyable as possible"
I answered I really needed it, and if they knew the estimated time it would take to solve the issue. Here's the last response.
    - "According to your previous correspondence, you have not been able to install iLife after reinstalling OS X Lion. I understand that this issue is under investigation, and that you would like to know the amount of time needed to find a resolution. As a fellow iTunes customer, I certainly understand that you need to use iPhoto for professional reasons, and I'll gladly help you to resolve this problem.
Unfortunately, I am unable to give you the exact amount of time this issue could take. I do assure you that our engineers are currently working towards a resolution. "
I'm going to an Apple Sotre Genius today, in 2 hours. I'll keep updated!!

  • Yosemite - iPhoto "installing"

I upgraded to Yosemite. I went into iPhoto to install the new version from the App Store, when I click "install" it asks me to verify my password and then changes to "installing" however, it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I let it sit for a day and it just stayed in the same place. I can look at my photos in iMovie but can't get it to prompt me to upgrade from there. How do I know if it's really installing and how long should this take? Should I try something else?

go to the launch pad an cancel the installation - move the iPhtoo application form the Applications folder rot th trash (wait until this is finished to empty the trash) and then go to the app store and install ipHoto 9.6

  • Libraries won't upgrade after new iPhoto install

Yesterday, with help from a tip, we got our new iPhoto to intall on iBook. Opened one library and upgraded it. However, I have four other libraries (some stored on external drive), that show the albums, but no photos inside (thumbnails).
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Carol,
Glad you got iPhoto 5 installed!
    Some questions:
Were you able to open these libraries on the external drive with the older version of iPhoto?
When you navigate the library/libraries in the Finder do you see all your images in the dated folders?
This is a view of how the iPhoto Library looks in the Finder.
It is organized by Year folders. Inside the Year folders are Month folders. Inside the Month folders are the days of the Month. Inside the day folders are the photos you took on that day. If you imported video clips and RAW files on that day they will be in an Originals folder. If you have edited any photo imported on that day, the original will be in that folder also.

  • Can iPhoto install on 3GS?

Can iPhoto app install onto iPhone3GS?

Sorry, I wasn't supposed to include forbidden info here. But, yes, it is a memory issue. There is a good workaround now. Stable as well. But you have to look for the info somewhere else.
    Y.

  • IPhoto Install Problem

I have a MacBook Pro with the latest version of Yosemite installed.  Since the older version of iPhoto is not supported I went to the App Store to install version 9.6.  When I click on the "install" icon it changes to "installing" but nothing happens.  Opening Launchpad it shows the iPhoto icon with "waiting" and nothing being downloaded.  This stays this way forever.  How do I download the latest version of iPhoto?  I currently have no access to any of my photos.

Go to the launch Pad and cancel the download - in the applications folder trash the iphoto application (don't empty the trash yet) and go to the App store and install again - ash as always for any update/upgrade backup the iPhoto library first
